Who plays who this week in finals? Did Barker sneak into 5th spot? Tips for GF spots?

Country Kangy Vs Kersbrook??

Ironbank got 5th, Meadows beat Kersbrook and now play Kangy.

Scott Byrd playing football is like a dog trying to root one............
Has been in the best a bit though like you say.

Think the Lofty game this weekend will be a duster. The Goats will be fired up for a crack at the Cabbage the following week and have shown in the last couple of years they are a class above the Windy Hillers despite BWood upsetting Uris the other week. Lofty in a canter....10 goals.

IB v Onkas should be an absolute cracker. My pick is the Puppies just, but the Shed-Dwellers should be happy with their stepping stone of a season regardless. Picking up on Lofty and Uri's models for success the last few years and heading in the right direction. The Germans, Velodromers and Lobetalians would do well to have a look at them.

Mail Medal......Anyone bar Trigger.....heard a sneaky rumour that he has been spotted washing Big O's car the last few weeks........

Mail Medal prediction is scott Wood to win it by followed by anderson and Ebert from uri's. Travis White might go ok as well as gigney from Blackwood. My darkies are Jarrad Macdonald from barker and Smarty from Onkas.

That's him, at Mt Lofty.

My prediction for MM is Wood, Loffler or ebert from Uris for second and Gigney as a dark horse.

Not sure about Woody, i reckon Matty Baldock had a cracker of a year (could be a dark horse??). Travy White missed a couple of games of late, so that might work against him. With Trigger getting the Lofty B&F again this year he is defintely in with a chance. In regards to other clubs, well im with you JQ, Loffler and Ebert both had a very solid year.

And whoever asked early about finals for this week its:

Lofty vs Blackwood at Birdwood on Saturday
Onaks vs Ironbank at Blackwood on Sunday

I think Lofty should account for the Woodsman and a very tough one Sunday, im going to go for Ironbank by 1 point :?

Byrty was a state league basketballer a few years back. Not a natural footballer but able to dominate a game from CHF. Will come close to B&F for mounts this year but will be lucky to get any mm votes due to a couple of yellow cards handed out during the year, most umpires tend to shy away from giving votes after a card.

Why don't you tell the truth Tex as to why Alan may be seen at the oval whilst the Meadows team are practising. You make it sound like he's spying !!

Were there 3 3 3 3 2 1 votes given in Lofty games this year cos at this rate theres 10 guys from the club winning the mail medal. Well I'm going to continue the trend of biasness and pick Gazz Williams from IB to be the big darkhorse.

Out of the Lofty boys whos been given invites... should narrow your selections!

Cracker games this week! Lofty by 7 goals still and IB by 3 goals.

Yes it includes all 10 clubs. However clubs with 3rd world facilities like Ironbank & Bridgewater have had to hire ovals from other HFL clubs to host a final. It's not a new system. It has been around for a while now.

Rock the rotation system is not new it is just that the HFL will not allow finals on Bridgy or Thunder Park and they use to ban Goat Park because of the mud. 2 years ago Lobey was a mess and therefore missed in the rotation. I wonder if that sees the demise of Barker this year?

MM I think Ebert from what I have seen and heard although Gigney gets a lot of attention.

Bit harsh to say Ironbank's facilities are third world, The bar, canteen and changerooms (though a shed) would be some of the best going around! Their oval size and lack of parking is the problem, sure couldn't knock the surface... well maybe for being too hard!

As for Birdwood getting finals... That's a bit of a joke! Worst oval in the competition by far, I understand about trying to make it as fair as possible; But the line has to be drawn somewhere...

If this forum is a 'fair' reflection of players and supporters, then I think it's fair to say that the decision to use Birdwood is a dead set joke. No-one on here has said otherwise. I hope the game gets a good ammount of spectators for a good atmos, but there's a fair chance that some people will be a bit "ah, stuff it. That's too far".
TSO - you're right, the line must be drawn somewhere. If Lofty was too muddy, and Lobey's surface not up-to-scratch, why the hell should Birdwood's velodrome be acceptable as a finals venue?

He doesnt send him he goes there of his own free will, and to you Silver Fox the only time Alan comes to training is when we play Kangarilla, I dont think this is by chance or to watch his son train. His lads are great blokes to by the way and we are really happy both stayed at Meadows. Also know one has a problem with him being there, I dont think there is much to gain from watching us train twice a year.

It can't be good for the image of the HFL playing finals at Birdwood oval. Imagine someone from down town coming up to watch the HFL finals and seeing that oval theyre playing on. They would just laugh, tell everyone down town and the HFL becomes a laughing stock!

And the 3rd world facilities at Ironbank I'd take over Onkas changerooms anyday. Those changerooms barely fit 15 players in them. Let alone medical staff and room for strapping. Yet the other side of the clubrooms Onkas have a mansion of a changeroom with medical rooms and everything!
And will be interesting to see if the ever shrinking away changerroms at Blackwood is smaller when we travel there on Sunday!!

mop up, good call on the blackwood changerooms, what a joke. they pulled that stupid (half empty) cage out another 3 mtrs this yr. must be having a comp with bridgy, barker and onkas for the worst changerooms going around. unfortunately for blackwood think onkas wins that trophy. i quite like IB changerooms, prob the biggest goin around. dont like the oval though.
