So with Jervois beating Tailem by 7 goals today, they get another chance next week against Mannum, whilst Ramblers and Imps clash to go straight into the grand final.

The mannum v imps game was pretty good, thought half way through the third quarter that mannum might pull away but to imps credit they pegged them back, then the roos got the first two goals of the last and again i thought here we go but Tyson Wait proved what a classy player he is and single handedly won that match for them. If only the roos had a fit chris hall and kennedy it might have been a different story, ahh well bring on next week.

A fit & firing S.Russell is a handy addition coming into the finals series for Jervois.

I know they have a handful of league (and even AFL) experienced players, but with the dry weather spell we are having Rusty will tear it up & looks to have done that consistently over the last month already.

Where is he playing, mostly up forward??? When fit the bloke is one of the handiest on-ballers going around with a grab as good as any key position player & the tank of a gun midfielder...

It has been quiet on here for when it should be the busiest,
Winners from this weeks games-
Saturday
League
Ramblers v Imperials - Should be a cracker of a game and I think the weather and the oval size at Mannum will give Imps the upperedge and they will win by 7-16 points

Reserves
Meningie v Imperials - Another cracker of a game, Grand Final rematch and there was 4 points in it that time I will say same result Imperials by 4 points

Under 17s
Imperials v Ramblers - Undefeated Imps should roll Ramblers easily, will be interested Sturt have the bye so might be a few guys back. Imperials by 10 goals

Under 15s
Imperials v Mypolonga - 2 slow starting teams so rock up half way through and you will see Imperials roll Mypolonga by 6 goals.

Now I will beat you in and yes might be a bit of Imperial favortisim but would be close to favorite in each grade

Will do Sunday's games tomorrow if I find time on Lunch Break without boss seeing

Ramblers looking pretty strong for the weekend, should be at full strength barring the 3 season ending knee injuries. Should be a cracking game as imps sound like they will be at full strength aswell

Far from unfit.... three nights a week at the gym for 5 months impossible to be unfit!!! Look out cricket season this year....

And funny, when I'm at the gym I run on concrete and don't have any problems!!

Having said that, Mannum Oval should be amazing for cricket again this year... Was like Adelaide Oval in terms of value for shots last year.....

Imperials Winners in all 4 Grades and will enter the Grand Final in a fortnight with 4 teams in.

Since Last Grand Final at Meningie Imperials have entered (Inc Meningie)
League 6 Apperances
Reserves 8 Apperances
Under 17s 8 Apperances
Under 15s 7 Apperances
That is in 8 years!

29 Grand Final Apperances in 8 Years

now there will be some smart arse that says and how many have they won but myself talking as an Imperial close to Life Membership, Winning IS the key and that is the goal but to come 1st or 2nd 29 times in 8 years makes me proud to be at such a successful club.

Go you Blooooossssss

Although the lower grades are an achievement in themself, League Premierships are by far the most signficant thing.

Imps have been successful over the decades, but nowhere near as much as they could have been given their grand final appearances and the resources they have available to them. They will obviously want to win this years League premiership to repair their record of grand final losses in the early 2000's.

Good wins by both senior Imps teams today and I am sure they are happy to go straight through. Obviously Ramblers in the A grade and Meningie in the B grade would be disappointed but both looked a little short of a run. If they can win next week and get through injury free it may actually be an advantage.

Yeah defently League premierships are the most important and we have been disappointing on grand final day since roughly 2000 but where I was coming from with that stat is just how successful the club has really been, closest club to repeat that in all 4 grades would be Ramblers and they would be
League 2 (most likely 3 after next week)
Reserves 0
17s 3
15s 2
7 Apperances and I doubt many clubs would be more than that.

Resources- yes Sponsor base is very good at Imperials and have a successful business man running the club so he knows how to be successful, clubs don't just get handed things and i have been an Imperial for 20 years and I can tell you we have worked hard to have the resources we do and the players respect the facilities but time will tell if we can turn around and take 4 big ones home in a fortnight

From the Outer-not sure on your logic of it being an advantage for Ramblers to play next week...

Patrick O'Neil limping off in the last quarter after a piss weak effort in the goal square to give up a goal, Clint Girardi limping off in the last quarter, and Tyson Matthews limping off in the last.... Not sure how it's an advantage for those three to play again next week...

Imps only injury concern being Harrowfield with a badly injured ankle... I'm confident he will suit up GF day!!!

Mr Willy. I did say injury free. The point I was trying to make is that Ramblers looked liked they lacked having played some tough footy. Same thing happened last year and they just limped over the line despite being hot favs on grand final day.

Ripper game at Johnstone Park today. Mannum got out to 6 goal lead at one stage but Jervois pegged them back in the last quarter with the aid of a 2 or 3 goal breeze. Hit the front with 10 minutes to go and got nearly three goals up before Mannum kicked the last two goals of the game to go down by 5 points. Mannum had some injury concerns after half time and this hurt them. Jervois played some really good footy but not sure they have the depth to worry Ramblers who rarely lose at home.
