Rooster, bad umpiring cost us in 03 (by 2 points), and no one expected us to beat u in 05, and lost by 4 points (wasn't the umps that day, was Danielle)

Don't get me started on u Rooster. 93,01,06 and a winless season!! Can't say that's on my resume.

No one expected us to get past TV and Meadows last year and what happened? Unfortunately there was no juice left in the tank, when we reached Kangarilla.

Yeah agree with what you've written before. TV should win, as Echunga's form has dipped a bit like ours, and they haven't beaten TV all year. The only hope for Echunga, is if it's a hot day and fitness comes into it, cos if Echunga are within 5 goals by the start of the last, they'll (like everyone else has) run over the top of them.

I reckon anyone could overhaul TV if they are within 5 goals at 3 qtr time.

They havent seemed capable of running a game out all season.

RE: THE NEW POINTS SYSTEM

I don't think the HFL have thought this through. From what I am being told if the points system was in place this season the strongest 21's of Lofty & Uri's would be under the 35 point cap and this will obviously decrease next season. Guys like Trigger, Wait, Loffler & Anderson who have been around for some time now will only attract 1 point. Still gives these clubs an oppurtunity to maybe recruit 1 or 2 quality players to add to an already impressive list.

For clubs like Birdwood, Loby, Hahndorf etc. to be competitive they are going to have to recruit at least 6-8 quality players. Would think that 6-8 quality players would attract something like 25 points which is going to restrict and limit these clubs recruiting options.

i agree ted its only going to make those clubs that are strong better of for the reasons u stated ..at ib we will be in the same boat blokes we got this year all lose 1 point plus the local rookies 1 year more experienced leaves room to recruit 1 or 2 more where as sides looking to improve are hamstrung by points ..could end up with same handy players running around in the 2s i would think if clubs have no injuries :o :o the only good thing is it will force clubs to build from within and promote there jrs which we have been doing 4 a few years now and are starting to reap the rewards 8) 8)

Think when the players sign on at TV, they are not interested in doing k's unless you're talking about Money!!

he is a great coach and a very good bloke. i too played with silkys old man. it appears things at the higher level of the club have gone pear shape as compared to the years before when hahndorf where a force. what you needed you got, the cost was never discussed due to a certain someone who offset ALL player payments through sponsors from adelaide who had ABSOLUTE nothing to do with the club

Never forget the magpies 2001 premiership side with the likes of Pearce, Grimm, Tulk, Raymond, Cooper, Waters, Stephens, Llewellyn, Fort etc. They were awesome. They will bounce back. They are a respected club with a good culture. Their best 5 are as good as anyone's but they drop away a bit after that. Most sides would kill to have Stansborough, Stephens, Gallagher, Wagnitz & Wyld. The contacts that Carlson & Stansborough have you would think they would be able to lure a few players to Pine Avenue. Once Cooper chucks it in at Eagles I'm sure he will head back up and bring some mates with him.

They were a respected club under Richard Hill - Billy the Goose could have coached them to a flag immediately following him. Since then you'd have to say they've got terribly wrong!!

TEX, my old man tells me that Richard Hill is the best coach he has ever seen and had, he said he always gets the best out of his players, the man has coached footy premierships basketball premierships with the Mavericks coached cricket at hahndorf to flags after flag, he hits off scratch in golf, he is a legend, he has also played in a SANFL premiership with sturt under Jack Oatey, ive got him on board with me to help promote my name and help me with setting evaluating and re setting my goals for the future. Hahndorf is a proud club and we will bounce back, it might take a while but we will bounce back i have no doubt.

totally agree with u silky hahny were the power club of the hills when i started off and everyone wanted to beat them or emulate them.. to beat them in those years was massive ..whatched and admired bj in those years and he was a legend ..(do they have a hfl hall of fame if so he should be in it !! ) was to young to play against him but .. you blokes have massive hurdles to jump to get back there espech with the new points system coming in next year . sasha is a gun in the 17s but you will need a few more locals to step up if you are to be a force next year as u wont be able to recruit a whole team .. exemptions given to alf and a few others (by the way wheres wags didnt even see him last sat ? )your boys will get better but it will take time imo !

TWE - i understood that players have to be at the club for 2 years before they drop a point, so muffy for example would attract the same points next year as he would this year.
