P.S. Can you come out and do that when we are playing Uraidla in the GF? You guys will DEFINTELY have the weekend off and we could do with some firing up then.

seriously mt.lofty GET OVER IT! it was funny! its not like the club arranged for this guy to do it, it was a lost bet, apparently, between 2 b graders, 99.9% of birdwood people there had no clue it was even gonna happen, of course none of your b graders have ever done anything stupid during an a grade game after having one too many ports? he didn't hurt anyone, didnt say a word to anyone, didn't interfere with the game, just followed u guys on your warm up lap... your own players thought it was hilarious in the showers afterwards... gees you take yourself way too seriously, this is country footy!! if we can't have a harmless laugh everynow and then, than you've got some problems.

I dare say that Ironbank may move out of the finals if Barker FLOG Birdwood and Lofty FLOG Ironbank, is it possible with that percentage difference?

Well the % is garbage because Onkas %age has moved further ahead of Ironbank's after Ironbank had a bigger %age win!!!

I hope somone at the HFL realises that 33.21 does not equal 201 points too!!

I don't know if it's just a matter of making up a 209 point gap, % is based on the total for and against.
BUT, if it were a matter of closing a 209 point difference, who's to say Mt Barker can't win by 130 pts and IB lose to Lofty by 80?
IB were travelling OK the first time they met and copped a hiding, if that repeats itself, some phonecalls will be being made at about 5.05...
Mt Barker at home, with sunny days predicted at least until Friday (might dry up the pit) and IB having to play at heathfield, I think it could happen, but most likely, I don't think IB will let it slip.

i understand that birdwood have plenty of room for car parking, i just think that 3/4 of it wont be used because no one would want to travel all the way out there watch i know all my mates wont!

just my personal opinion boys.. ive always thought whether or not you like a club you should always respect them. win lose or draw you dont carry on like fools who try to embarrass the reigning premier.. you may do things differently out there but i thought it was pathetic.

i could see the funny side of it if he were to simply streak across the oval wearing that thing while both sides were out there. but didnt like the fact that he followed us around the oval. dare say theres a few sore birdwood players that he owes a beer..

and yes i remember the 50 goal flogging, and we never sent supporters out on to the oval to disrespect lobethal..

You don't have a right to talk about respect GTS when you have none at all. Harden up precious and don't be so sensitive. I think I speak for many on here.

Agreed. Birdwood is the only opposition club that I've enjoyed having a beer in after a game all season, in fact I had three! Very similar club to Ironbank and if they can attract a few players they will be competitive too. Tough step from Divvy 2 to 1. Took us two attempts to get it right....

Was across in Adelaide to watch my daughter player netball for ironbank and took the opportunity to see a fair bit of the A grade footy game having never seen a game in that league before. Have read a lot in the past about Exelby on this site and will say that I was very impressed with his game on Saturday. Don't know how old he is but who cares when he can play like that.
Also could not understand the goalscorers in the paper. I saw a big tall fella (Widdison I think his name was) and I reckon he would have had 6 or 7 yet he wasn't named.
How small is that oval. Fair dinkum the full back kicked out from a point and lobbed it past centre and what would the 50m line be from the goal especially in the pocket where I reckon it would be not much more than 30m.

Think exelby is now mid-late 40s?

Widdo kicked 6, Muirden 5, Wendelbourne 5 and Naughton 4, not sure why it wasnt in the paper

As for the ground size, IB was never intended to have footy played on it, it had always been a cricket oval untill 20years ago when the footy club was formed and we only had a c grade team :)

Thanks Banker for the update. Have read the history now and can understand the situatiuon re oval size. Tremendous effort by the supporters in those early days and I suppose that's how all clubs get up and running. Seemed a tight knit bunch from where I stood on saturday with pretty good supporter input and good to see the netballers all going over to watch the footy and join in.
Good luck with your Thunderball I think you call it which is coming up.
Have had a brother -in-law play for you quite a few years ago and a good mate of his also played there.
Anyway you now have another supporter albeit from a long way away. Good luck in the finals which by the sounds of it and if I read it right, you should make.

I'm not the one going on about it GTS, your the one ripping into Birdwood, I just stated my thoughts on your arrogance. Yet I wouldn't expect anthing different from you. Don't take Ironbank to lightly this sat, I doubt you will thump them.

Interesting there has been bugger all discussion on Blackwood's win on the weekend. Guess we have stuff all Blackwood and Uri's supporters on here.

I heard it was a very scrappy game that wasn't great to watch. Perhaps can't read too much into it then??

Yeah...extremely important win for Blackwood obviously, but from what I've gathered, there aren't many Blackwood lovers on this thread!
I didn't think that Uri's would lose until the finals (if then even), so it'd be very interesting to find out what got Blackwood over the line. Relatively low scoring as well.
Although, Blackwood stuck near enough to Lofty a few weeks back to warrant a raised eyebrow.
