Blacky- 2 goal win over Uraidla

IB- 20 goal win over handorf

Barker- 6-7 goal win over bridgy

Probably the loss that uraidla needed

5th spot will come right down to the wire but my moneys on IB to claim it :D

A very switched on unit were the Thunderers today... never seen this before in all my years of footy.

Going up the hill, Ironbank had 5.0 on the board after 5 minutes and the only touch to the Maggies was a hit out, not one possession - not exaggerating!!! The Dorfers rallied for the rest of the quarter (and it looked like a game was on the cards for a bit), however that was not to be & the lads from IB controlled the game from there on in... IB rookies on fire & if your first or last name started with a "W" then the d*ck kissing fairy had paid you an early morning visit... The "W"s dominated...

Superb game also from the coach... Daniel "Helmet Machuka" Exelby back to his best, after the recent release of Mail Medallists version #2 was spurred on to efforts parrallel to that in his hey-day with the Rams... He might look 60 years old & could easily be mistaken for a Kenyan marathon runner without the tan, but nothing beats football smarts, courage & endeavour for the pill.

The Uri's wagon may have hit the first speed hump & by no means would you still not favour them but what a finals series looms... honestly believe any one of the 5 teams could figure come the best month of the year... Bring on September!!!

Can anyone confirm the rumour that the League secretary has quit so she can campaign for the big 'O's job without a conflict of interest occuring? Have heard this one on and off all year. Good on her if it's true.

I don't have a Cally/Kangas match report. I've kept my word when I said I wouldn't bother with them after their double forfeit fiasco. Seems I haven't missed much.
And how did Echunga manage 20 goal scorers? Did they give their forwards a rest in the backlines or did the defenders get an unimpeded run down the ground? Would have to be one for the record books surely?

Callington A grade had to play with 4 kangarilla b grade players just to get a side on the oval.

Thanks BRaG, you've just confirmed my suspicions that Cally's promises of never forfeiting again were just B/S! I presume they forfeited the Reserves? What was the excuse this time I wonder? Sounds like Kangas were more than generous; good stuff on their part and at least they'll get to have MM votes, goalkickers etc. The fact is, they shouldn't have had to risk injury etc to any of their boys just to get what's rightfully theirs. And hell, something has to happen about all this lop-sided stuff and only one half-decently competitive game in this round in Country Div. The possibility of a Country 'C' Grade comp draws ever closer and I don't reckon there'll be too many opponents to it this time

Would have been interesting if Kersbrook had beaten Kangarilla, and the Callington match was going to decide the Minor Premier on percentage. Imagine the ramifications if that had happened, remebering Callington forfeited to Kersbrook!

Very good call Cougar. Memo to HFL:- More severe consequences for clubs which could theoretically cause this scenario.

No they played the reserves, got hammered but they played. There were a few guys from the B grade running around in the A's too. Weird situation.

Sounds like the usual scenario at Cally. Most of the B graders disappear immediately after their siren or just flatly refuse to bust their gut twice playing alongside paid A graders. Very divided club in that respect and have been for a few years.

Nairne V Kersbrook - Kersbrook took it's recent poor form into this encounter against an opponent who were clearly desperate to finish off with a win. They had their strongest side for the year, and with Murphy winning plenty of it, and the Fosters prominent up Forward, the Rams jumped to a 6 goal lead just before half time. Many of the Brookers guns were down again, and the Coach gave his sternest half time assesment for the year. This seemed to work as the Brookers slowly got back into the match and with Roger on fire up forward, finished the game well against perhaps the most under achieved team in the comp. Note for Country Div Mail Medal Followers, B.Pearce was again quiet by his standards and I reckon a smokey for the Medal could be Nairne Bremers Luke Murphy. Ex Barkeroo who is clearly the Rams best player who is hard at it and carries the ball well, with the only down side being Nairne's lack of winning this year.

2 Old 2 Slow - That first 5 mins was quite amazing! 5 goals to zero possesions. Fair start! IB was definitely pumped up for this one. Makes the points gap between Mt B and IB 220 points. Meaning if Mt B beat Birdwood by 20 goals IB would have to lose to lofty by over 100 points. IB would now be the favourites you would suggest. Oh and the other Goal kickers left out in the results before were Widdo with 6, Muirden and Wendels with 5 each and Naughton with 4.

OKO - 1:57am post. bit of a late one. Sounds like you had a few at the chucksters 30th celebrations. Hope he made it through the night after his broken nose that day.

All those Lofty supporters out there how did you find the Birdwood oval?? Be interesting to see if you too believe it is better than Hahndorf's oval as some Birdwood supporters suggested. :?
