Cougar wrote:Ah Footy Pie, you definitely from TV aren't ya, cos you're a smart one. The Report was NOT (for those that need to be told again) for Intentional Contact with an umpire, but for Negligent Contact. If it was for Intentional we would never see Battams play again. However he pleaded Guilty to Negligent Contact to the HFL, and appealed over the length of the sentence to the SANFL with the aid of a QC. No rep from the HFL was at the SANFL hearing, nor the umpire in question. Now I've seen the footage, and I KNOW how TM got a black eye. He was hit extremely hard, and I'd suggest TM is a tough unit, cos I know a few blokes at our Club would have been calling for the stretcher! All I can say about Battams is get those blinkers off him, if has trouble seeing blokes in orange shirts on the field. Perhaps High Vis for the Umps next year?

Cougar, from what I hear the SANFL have completely shafted the HFL. TV appealed the sentence, the SANFL asked the umpire 4 hours before the hearing to turn up, to which he said was too short notice. So the SANFL guy said he will send an email address to him so he could submit a report on the incident, it never happened! The hfl were never asked for any evidence that was used for consideration in the hfl decision. The only view the SANFL commision got was from Gary Hughes and his construction crew. They never even heard that the umpire received a BLACK EYE, FFS! What a joke, the guy is a sniper and should not be playing.

Would find that very hard to believe, although did see another comment on here that TV coach may be coaching them next year and hes got plenty of money (apparently) so may be able to afford them, but yeah sounds very unlikely to me.

You'd think if they played in SA it would be with Centrals or no one.

I thought the Gowans twins were going back to Victoria when they finished up at Centrals.

It was rumoured that they were approached by Gary last year to go to TV all unsubstantiated, although them working in construction and Gary's business does give them a common link. Just another one of those 'see to believe' rumours

yeah, thought all of those boys would reach the ton, prob still will 16 odds goals hasnt been too hard in two weeks of footy in country div..

gotta like barkers chance of making the 5. with bridgy and birdwood potentially big % games.. Ib could be the unlucky ones due to poor %. obviously would love to beat lofty, but cant see it happening, we may even seal their fate if its another 100 point flogging. TWE, you boys would want to pump hahndy this wk..

lets not forget alot of us had barker at the bottom of the ladder at the start of the yr (excluding birdwood). theyd be happy with a 5th or 6th in a rebuilding yr..

might need them and a few more,i would doubt any of this seasons recruits will be there next year and with some others likely to leave and retirements on the cards it will leave the playing stocks very thin, saturday against barker was an example of playing numbers as the A grade had dray, sziller, coulthard, burns, maskall all missing so 3 U17's were given their first A grade game adding to the one already playing, with a couple of other really young players in the team it was close to the youngest side lobey has fielded.could Aufderhide return from centrals as well?

How has Jon Flo been going for Lofty have not seen him in the best players at late, is he getting a heavy tag. Saw him play against onkas a few weeks back and he had a guy in his shorts all game.

Gowans Twins will definately NOT be playing anywhere but Country Victoria in season 2008. If they change there minds it will be last minute thing which would see them stay with the Dogs.

Barker big suprises considering they were looking for players on the eve of round 1, we all had them tipped for bottom two at the start of the season.

For the country division boys Will Silvy stay on at TV next year?? Is gary Hughes the same Hughes that formerly coached Salisbury in the SAAFL and has two sons?

Something certainly brewing with "king Gazza" and his band of loyal ($ chasing) men. Who would have thought that bridges so badly burnt at Loby could be rebuilt - give some hope for those working in Minneapolis. Interesting that when spoken to, Carter etc slam his coaching so are Loby really that stupid to look in this direction?? Surely someone who will DEVELOP the place from the juniors up would be the way to go.
Where will this leave TV? - take out imports (No Gazza = No money) and best bet is they'll fold within a year or 2.
Div 2 will be looking more and more shaky - B/Wood no div2 team, Cally surely are on borrowed time, Gums ??????, Kangys keen on Div 1 - interesting decision then from Meadows crowd!

Has had a few more good games, always gets heavily tagged, much like Trizinski. Saw Flo come off in the last half on Saturday, looks like he had some kind of foot injury. Im sure he will be playing this weekend though, he seems like a pretty tough guy.
