Country Div seems to be the one to watch at the minute. Sounds like just about anyone in the top 4/5 could win the flag?

don't know about that one DA. there still seems to be four teams fighting it out for 3rd, 4th and 5th in central div. if reports of a blackwood 2 point win over onkas are to be believed. Very tight final two rounds.

IB over Birdwood by 7-8goals, nothing much to comment on about the match...

Apparently Blackwood by 2 points over Onkas :(

Ladder is now very tight between 3-6, assuming Mt Barker won

Blackwood will now be 3rd: 10 wins, strong %
Ironbank 4th: 10 wins
Onkas 5th: 10wins
Mt Barker 6th: 9 wins low %

Road to the finals-
Woods: Uraidla-Handorf (1-1?)
IB: Handorf-Mt Lofty (1-1?)
Onkas: Lobethal-Bridgey (2-0)
Barker: Bridgy-Birdwood (2-0)

IB need to thump Handorf next week... :(

Actually, yes, you should know about that. In Central Div, there are 2 team fighiting for the flag. Doesn't matter how optimistic the chasing teams are, there are only 2 sides in the hunt at his stage.

However in Country Div, any team in the top 5 has a realistic chance of winning the flag. So I stand by my riginal comments.

And to the Shanty who said your 17's were a chance of a flag.......sorry chamese, but the Devs have your measure and then some. Pistols and Joe are quality units!

I notice no Jameses in best players or goalkickers in Kersbrook's loss to Meadows. Were there numbers out?

Or are you suggesting that yes Battams accidently ran into TM with a fair bit of impact, and got a 30 match suspension reduced down to 2?? If so, that's a big win for TV.

You are an absolute moron Cougar! Not once did I claim that "there was clear evidence that it didn't happen"... whether it happened or not is irrelevant in this case. Clearly the HFL decision was overturned due to the lack of evidence proving that what Battams did was intentional.

Like you I have no idea how TM got the black eye, however there must not have been enough clear evidence to support the claims therefore the SANFL had to overturn the suspension dealt out by the HFL. End of Story!

All played!! Paul got sh!t loads of it - yellow carded right at end of game so may have incurred his brother's wrath. Brett was probably best but as coach, probably leaves himself out of best players and Rog had a quiet one. Meadows boys played very well.

Ah Footy Pie, you definitely from TV aren't ya, cos you're a smart one. The Report was NOT (for those that need to be told again) for Intentional Contact with an umpire, but for Negligent Contact. If it was for Intentional we would never see Battams play again. However he pleaded Guilty to Negligent Contact to the HFL, and appealed over the length of the sentence to the SANFL with the aid of a QC. No rep from the HFL was at the SANFL hearing, nor the umpire in question. Now I've seen the footage, and I KNOW how TM got a black eye. He was hit extremely hard, and I'd suggest TM is a tough unit, cos I know a few blokes at our Club would have been calling for the stretcher! All I can say about Battams is get those blinkers off him, if has trouble seeing blokes in orange shirts on the field. Perhaps High Vis for the Umps next year?

What happened with ironbank? 8 goal win against Birdwood...
Some interesting results...Blackwood could even finish 3rd if Onkas don't pull the finger out.

There has been some criticism of the HFL truibunal regarding the Battams case but it sounds as though the appeal at the SANFL wasn't the most professionally run hearing itself........... :o

Not much to say re birdwood game! It's a hard oval to play for any visiting team, the bounce of the ball off the undulating service is impossible to read. Add to that the windy conditions and it was just not a game of football made for the spectator!

Don't wanna harp on about ovals too much but that is by far the worst in the competition! I cannot believe that the HFL believes that the ground is suitable for Central Division. I for one hope that fixing the oval is a part of Birdwood's long term goals, because after travelling 40 - 50 mins that is a shocker to play on! Share showers also :o brings flashbacks of when all that we had to seperate home and visitors showers and changerooms was a moldy blanket across the middle of the shed!

Was impressed with Scott Friend and the young captain from Birdwood showed alot of fight and a little class in patches, will be interesting to see how they might fair if they manage to lure a couple of key recruits out to the velodrome.

Shake N' Bake you are kidding - no other team has had a problem with the oval or complained about the facilities. Talk about looking for excuses and trying to yake the heat off yourself. you were just terrible, admitt it. The true story is Ironbank well up at half time and managed 6 in the second half against a bottom team that had a crack. No use coming up with excuse after excuse, Birdwood put up a fight and held you blokes to a pitiful score. Good luck in the finals, believe me you are along way off the pace.

Not excuses mate! Don't reckon you will find a single player looking for an excuse, I think if anything the club knows we have a hell of a lot of work to do if we are going to make an impact in the last weeks of the season! My post was little about the game and more about the spectacle of football. I think clubs such as Ironbank have every right to be annoyed when ovals aren't up to scratch! Our oval constantly comes under review and so do our facilities! We worked very hard on and off the field to get things up to scratch before coming up to Central Division. Don't reckon you could say the same about Birdwood!

Give us a break - in the last 2 years Birdwood has had over 18 different clubs play at their oval in Country and Central Divisions and NOT ONE has ever complained about facilities, the bounce of the ball, the way the sun sets, the showers etc etc. It takes two teams to make a game worth watching and you definately didn't keep up your end of the bargin. I wonder if Mt Lofty will whinge like you are after playing Birdwood next week or if they will get on with it, win by plenty as expected and move on. To me someone feels just a little threatened by Birdwood over the next couple of years.

Toad you are a delinquent! Are you reading what is being wrote or just shooting your juvenile trap off?

"Was impressed with Scott Friend and the young captain from Birdwood showed alot of fight and a little class in patches, will be interesting to see how they might fair if they manage to lure a couple of key recruits out to the velodrome."

what would that imply moron? That yes i believe your club has a strong future! That was in my initial post! Hardly a guy making excuses when i compliment two of your younger players and talk about how far a couple of quality recruits would go in terms of giving you a better chance for success. Are you simply upset because your name wasn't mentioned? Because it seems that way to me!

The comment about your oval isn't an excuse for a small win, i think you will find after Mt Lofty pump you they will poke fun at your oval as well!

Shake, you can't be serious can you??? How can you have a crack at the facilities at Birdwood. Haven't you heard of the saying "people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones". If you think the facilities at Ironbank are "up to scratch" then you're living in a dream land.
Your oval represents the size of the soccer pitch next to our oval and the surface isn't any better than Birdwood's. Your changerooms are a TIN SHED with the showers right in the middle and you have to walk through a small creek/mud patch just to get to them!!

Yes I agree Birdwood's oval does need improving and there are drainage and irrigation plans in process at the moment but as far slope goes, it is less than Mt. Lofty and Hahndorf with the major problem just being the two top pockets/flanks sloping up.

As far as the "undulating surface" goes, yes there are a couple of patches that have been affected by the weather in the last couple of months but I'd be surprised if there were any ovals in the Hills that haven't been affected. The HFL was VERY impressed with the surface after about a million kids played on it in the U8/U10 carnival yesterday so I think you need to pull your head in and concentrate on playing better footy if you want to make any impact on the finals.
