Roosters winners

A Grade : Lee Allmond (5th) R/U Wally Hand

B Grade : Bryce Hart R/U Tom Taylor

Top night friday - 220 people at the club's formal presentation

No surprise on Brad Hardie SD - one of your better players who doesn't seem to get the recognition from the outside.

just stating whats happened in the past. i agree with you and by the sound of things they have changed for the better. i've seen people miss out. the club is always bigger than the individual. i also think locals should always get a look in before imports. locals are there for the long haul and doing all of the work behind the scenes. hope they have a big night tonight

I would have to say that comment looks like a bit off the cuff remark. The competition needs players from outside to help clubs fill sides, whether is A or B grade. In regards to Imports alot of them end up playing 4-5 years or longer at their clubs, and I am not sure you could quantify the amount of work they do behind the scenes? but, considering they spend up to a couple of hours a night driving to training? .[/quote]

A club is a club and is made of all sort of players from different back grounds, all should be included

I think I might have a crack e/w on Roman Emporor. Currently $11 fixed odds.

Not sure about the $$ value but I'm hearing a couple from Kilburn might be heading in that direction, a wingman and on-baller.

The connection would be Sponge getting names and numbers off Ocker, but it just doesn't make sense. If these guys want to play for a team that can't win a game they may as well stay at Kilburn!

From what I have heard they are chasing players from everywhere, and quality types too. I get the feeling they have been saving the $$$ for a while......maybe 4 years :)

Even making a big pitch to get LS back from TV maybe! They'll need a big purse for that to happen.

If that was right it would have made more sense to bypass Sponge and get Slatz as a playing coach instead of having to pay both.

The way everyone is talking on here, it seems any success we see next year at HB will depend on the amount of $$$ they spend. I realise FGH that these rumours aren't stemming directly from your camp, so I'm doubting whether many of them are actually true. For me, I would think it'd be wiser to start recruiting lads <24 age whom will remain at the club for a few years rather than spending up big just to have 1 or 2 good years. The key to management is preparing for the longer term so that the club isn't left in the position it has been in since Hermann and his shoppers left the club a few years ago. Two Wells will have prolonged success near the top because they have been able to retain a younger group that are loyal to the club, Mallala is another. I hope HB doesn't lend itself to the BOOM BUST issues we've seen in the past, all they need is competitive players that will keep off the piss on Friday nights, rather than trying to lure big names that will be shopping around again this time next year. I hope HB make the 4 next season, it would be great for the town and the club and there are a handful of players at the club that deserve more success than they're having at the moment, hopefully next year there will be more than just a handful.

Not aware of the logistics of the place or who uses a Sponge in the shower, just telling you what is happening.

Swamp I agree with all of the above. There is no boom to bust mentality happening next year.....or else Sponge would not have taken the job. We are just trying to do some quality recruiting, and you can all speculate on this subject as much as you like.

But yes we will be steering clear of blokes who get blind on friday nights and saturday mornings  (aka some players from 2008).
