Coming home, did u get to Pirie Sat?
Any thoughts on how all teams are travelling at present.
What about players for combined team- my guess is sgl should be stronger if players make themselves available- Woolford alone will make a difference.

Should be a good round
I think South should bounce back against Solly (but word is cats have a new recruit to enveil from West Adel).
Lions might just upset(?) west in their first road trip for year if lions get balance right.
Noone has beaten Central and they would be favourite to continue this- should be close!

Are Dean Steele and the Jackson Brothers still having a kick in the Gulf?

A week is along time in football, Souths were out played out muscled around the stoppages, Ports are the real deal don't worry about that, and Ports vs Centrals on saturday could possibly be a preview of the big one. Not sure what happened to Westies or what to think of them hard to say got talent but?? Sollies apparently were good on Saturday.

Can anyone shed some light on an umpiring blunder from West v Sollys , that was talked about at the footy on Sunday??

Looking at all games this weekend should be great contests all weekend, Price is a big in for Sollies, and your right if the likes of Price, Woolford & Schmidt (just to name three newies) play in the SGL side, the SGL should be very confident.

Yeah unfortunately unavailable this week due to work. We had always planned to have a meeting early in the season to iron out any kinks that would eventuate due to the player/coach role being new to everyone involved. What better time than after our performance Saturday.

I agree somewhat with Ch, I wouldn't call edo hard at it and i think he would agree himself, but teams require players like this, run all day and receive, i remember a player from Ports who won the goal kicking 3 years in a row from the midfield Damien Mellow - didn't see him get his head over the ball very often.

TIGER LAND you have some serious problems m8 D. Mellow was a top footballer who was a class above the majority of most players playing in his era in the S.G.L. Most teams tried to belt him every week and he copped it on the chin and moved on and just made the opposition pay you fool!!!!! you probably missed him getn his own ball cos he a smooth mover and you probably had your lips wrapped around a uummmm bundy can.............. NO IDEA.... look i think there was far better players around in the late 80s and early 90s but he would be one of the very few that have played in the S.G.L in the last ten years that would actually get a game back when S.G.L was actually a very good standard with tough hard players in every side. I could count on one hand the amount of players playing now that would of got a game back then thats for sure...... :)

I agree 100% with you ST about Mellow being a class above the rest, i didn't say otherwise, he would be one of the best players i've seen play SGL over the past 10 or so years, just never seen him get his head over the ball all that often, but remember I only watched him play 3 or so times a year when we played against Port and he & Polly always kicked a bag.
Out of curiosity, now you brought it up, who do you believe are the current players good enough to get a kick back when the SGL was a decent standard?
Oh and with regard to my problems my shrink and I are sorting them out, think it has to do with all the bundy cans :)

Which one, personally Jordan for me.

Is it true that West kicked a goal after the siren to win yesterday?

Only seeing each team 3-4 times a year it is hard to pick but based on what i've seen & read this year together with past form, I think there are a few players from each side currently playing that would have got a game when the SGL was stronger, even if it was off the bench, for example from West the Warrens, R Hobbs, R Noll, Centrals: P Jackson, M Fuller, N Callary, M Woolford, R Morris, Souths: B Cox, R Struck, D Dohnt, L Schmidt & A Grantham (when playing). Port: J. Neary, M. Burford, B. Luteria, & a fit M Gale. Sollies: T Price, L. Bearman, L. Promnitz Lions: T. Horsnell, T. George, D. Pine and i'm sure i have missed a few especially from the Pirie sides :?

 yep im in same position probably watch a few more. yes agree with the majority of the port augusta players on what i have seen, as for the pirie sides im afraid i dont agree with a few of them namely- M.Gale,L.promnitz,T.Horsnell and T.George as im sure back then they wouldnt be allowed to run around on there own all day and some big MEN back then would of dealt with them.. :? :? ;)
