no tears here big guy... just stating the facts. if you think any div 2 club would get close to the top few div 1 clubs you are dreaming.

initial comment was Kangarilla, the amount of talent there is at that club its amazing especially since most players are true locals and get the inticing match payement of $30 for a win! other clubs would struggle but would definatly go alrite. Just watch out Kangys might take the step next year since there junior numbers are increasing.

i never said they would get close to the top few div 1 clubs... if you read my previous comments.
all i said is the gap between div 1 and div 2 is pretty much nothing now apart from div 2's bottom 2 or 3 sides.

Yes Raidis, Gutinik and now Smelt are all fine local products at Kangarilla and would play there for nothing  Face up, Kangy are 2nd to TV in the paying stakes in Country Div, but agree that they would go alright in Central Div. Wouldn't worry the likes of Uraidla and Lofty, but would be competitive in Central Div. Kangy have plenty of depth, and with juniors developing might be an option for them next year. Think they'd have Birdwood covered.

maybe a little sarcasm there but all good! guitink yehh was gettin an extra $30 a win and $3 for every goal, sounds shit but true, smelt not too sure but word is he owes stringer a few favours a playin 4 minimum doesnt train with kangys with murray bridge as this is where he lives. Radis in the same boat owed stringer a favor and is coaching the B's only recievin the coach payment, but he is also a sponsor of the club so payin himself really. The only other 2 that were on contracts were wallfried who is not playin this year and trealor who had a knee reconstruction. but would be nice too see if a div1 and div2 grand finalist could play off or in a trial like willunga and morphett vale did!

Pull your head in champ. Hahndorf, Uraidla, Mt Barker, Blackwood, Mt Lofty and Onka's would give Kangy a fair flogging. Trust me I know both divs far better than you. As for the rest, Birdwood have certainly improved but Kangarilla would probably still account for them, I have not seen enough of Ironbank to comment.

At Ironbank though, onkas never win at ironbank. Played Birdwood(v Lofty) last week and they were horrendous although they did claim to have 8 out, how true that is i'm not sure. Top 6 sides in Div 1 this year would be the strongest 6 ever and I feel all would account for TV or Kangy. But who am I to say this, i've never played Div 2

ive played in both divisions and i can honestly say i think the top 3 sides in country division would do well in central division.. just an opinion. which is never gonna be proven unless they all play trials against each other next year, which wont happen. :)

Played both leagues recently Kangy Meadows and TV and Kersbrook last year all could have challenged seriously for top five if any one of those teams were in central, not this year though. The top 5 in central which i think will be Uri's, Lofty, Blackwood, Hahndorf and at this stage Ironbank edging out Onkas is as strong as it ever has been. I dont think Kangy( Who are the best div 2 team over the last three years) could beat onkas but probably only go down by 5 to 7 goals it might be a little closer on Onkas current form. The gap has closed over recent years but it is still along way from the top of the country to top of central.

Mate, you're an imbecile!! If you think a loss in a trial by a couple of goals is a flogging you're living in a dreamland!!

Nairne have won one game and you're talking like you're world beaters. Just settle down with the whole Central vs Country debate. If anyone knows the gap between the two divisions the best, I think it would have to be Birdwood after being the most recent team to play in both.

i think a team like Kangarilla may push the likes of Onkas and Mount Barker and would probably beat Birdy, Bridgy and Lobey but they wouldn't come close to the top sides.

Birdwood went up to div 1 with the same side they left div 2 with, (which they finished 5th - above Nairne) and they didn't win a game. So the gap is a bit bigger than what most think.

mate i just wish you would let people have an opinion... im not on here having a personal crack at anyone, im just putting my opinion out there.. that the gap between the two divisions has closed, and that birdwood aren't as good as they think they are if they didnt beat angaston.. I apologise for saying FLOGGING by angaston thought it was more like 8 goals which they lost by but it was only 2.. loss is a loss though.

Dry your eyes and go back to your central division thread....

Kangies left the Southern League because they weren't in div 2 anymore and weren't the best so they left for Hills div 2 to be a big fish in a small pond again. I would be surprised if they wanted to go up to a higher grade.

I agree Raz 7. I've played in both leagues over the past 10 years, with the only difference noticed is the strength of the bottom 3 sides ( When Blackwood were Div 2 ) It's still as hard & tough as it is in Central, as is the breed of the game up in the hills. I remember having a similar talk with Thommo ex Norwood/Uradila. He mentioned that the biggest difference between Hills and League, is you had to earn every kick you got in Hills. It was a rare thing to get an easy possie in Hills Footy. If you ask me the way things are going in 5 yrs the comp will be 1, with 14 teams.
