Good young midfielder. Don't know about his off-field issues and whether he has beaten those demons, but he was a promising junior.

From what i've seen of him he wouldn't be a key forward target nor a starting midfielder i wouldn't think in a quality team but would be a very very dangerous forward flanker maybe having a run threw the middle or a wing. The boy can play if he wants!

Efficient wrote:What about a mid-season review!

West: Undefeated says it. If Nowak is leaving, could cost them more than most think. Too much ball winning to be done by Sawford and Smith.

North: Have pushed West both times, probably a more balanced and traditional side than West. I think will lose to Roos tomorrow.

Roopena: Very bad start to the year but older fellas starting to get hungry again. IF Oliver, Smith and Grund return over the coming weeks, expect a completely different Roopena for the run in.

Central: Might scrape fourth. In a rebuilding stage but doubt they can win a flag in the near future.

South: Are playing better football than last year, hard work by Hole paying off. Their 17s and 14s are struggling considering they have won the last 2 u/14 flags. Where have they gone??

Weroona Bay: Struggling :D . If the three players that are looking to jump ship stay, I can see them coming home and taking fourth.

Goal Kicking: Nathan Covino (West)
Whyalla News Medal: Dean Storic (Roopena)
Grand Final: North Vs Roopena

Who else is rumored to be leaving? And did many others leave other than Gary Hoffman leave the club last year after their disgraceful performance GF day last year?

M Geddes to Sth Whyalla. Apparently paying him a fair bit of coin.

Couple of surprises yesterday. Not the results but the margins. North only beat South by 2 goals and West only beat Central by about 3 goals. Collison 7 for Central in a losing side.

Watched the North game and that was a painful game of football to watch. North kicked I think 1 goal 15 after quarter time and were lucky to get away with the win. South closed within a kick at about the 5 minute of the last quarter after piling on a couple of quick goals.

North played something like 7 kids under 18 years old so those young guys would have benefited from the experience.

What is going on at Roopena?

I heard the great man Robbie Brereton, there since the club's beginning in 1968, has been overthrown as president and subsequently been voted off of the club's senior committee!

New president is Harry Marks, who has been there, done that before.

I have nothing against Harry, but why would you oust one of the club's most loyal servants off the senior committee, especially when he has done so much to get the club where it is today? Or am I missing the full story there?

The bloke is brilliant, huge left foot. come runner up in the Whyalla news Medal a few years back and missed the last few games with a broken wrist. The only problem is that like Edey and the rest of the players at the club when the chips are down they are nowhere to be seen which is why i'd say he's leaving.

Exactly right outsider. Josh Parker can be the most brilliant player in the league. Prolific ball getter and goal kicker. Inherited the mental issues that come with footy at weeroona bay, Geoff Appleton and a few others aside.

Nothing to do with money. Its 100% a culture problem at the club
