Was programmed to be played as a curtain raiser to the West v Sturt game at Waikerie.

I thought the Independents were playing the Riverland B Grade in curtain raiser to North v South? No disrespect to Independents and Mid Murray, but I would have thought they could put a more entertaining game on as a curtain raiser to a league game of football. They should be showcasing RFL on that sort of stage, not Independents. I know I will get my head ripped off for that comment, but tough titties.

Well I will buy into it.
For your information BC. This was the only weekend the Indy interleague could be staged. Mid Murray didn't want it held on the June long week end and West Adelaide didn't want home and away games held the same day as the SANFL game and the Indy teams didn't want to play on the sunday. If you look at the program you will see there is no other option. What would you suggest. The Indys miss out this year

The State Champs are being held that week end.

Anyway why shouldn't the Indy's be able to show the best of what they have got. Just because they chose not to play RFL it doesn't mean there is not some talent out there.

A number of young Indy players do go to RFL or are poached to RFL clubs

The RIFL is part of the RFL
Why don't you look at the big picture for a change instead of looking out of your own back door.

Coombes boys to Cobby apparently.

Waikerie watching very closely what happens at Morgan, as there are some boys there they'd like to snaffle, again apparently.

Nice post BBJ.
While I can see what BC and NS are saying, I'd suggest that having the best Independent players playing before the SANFL game would be a good opportunity for the reps of A grade teams to have a look at them in a higher standard, one which might give an indication of how they'd perform in the RFL.
There are a few players in the Indys who could get A grade games easily.
They wouldn't be stars but would be useful. Worth a look.

Better off playing a rep under 18's game. I respect your opinion though. As I said, that's my opinion and you have your's.

How is Peter Smith shaping up with Loxton?

Talking to a few Gepps people, they are saying no paperwork has changed hands yet so maybe there's a problem.
Now that is just plain dumb, don't you think?

Couple of losses for the Swans CN - Rudiger and Sumner. Expected?

Points would be an issue I would think.

On another note, I hear Mr Loxton North Ten Foot Pole has two cartons off Jack Daniels/Johnny Walker on that Loxton North B's will make the finals.

Anyone heard any other pre-season bets?

KPP from the Barossa, SA Country player to Waikerie?
Also, a quality Morgan player to Waikerie - Max Baddack?
Jez Payne from East Murray to Loxton North.

I heard Bum Crack and a certain ex-barmera player have got a lazy $500 on the fisher cup this year. Not sure if there's any truth to it but it sounds good.

Brad Horsell ended up back at Rosewater. He said he was talking to a few clubs, so the Doggies won out.
