The counts normally a couple of weeks before the GF, so that would make it either the 2nd or 8th of September I reckon. Is Joel the redheaded bloke? He would definately be a favourite, as would Ryan Reid and Brahamy I reckon.

He certainly goes alright. There would be a few blokes from Mallala in the hunt. Definately in the Top 10 at least.

He's definately stood out for the maggies this year, some would say there too many similar players in their side, but this bloke is a superstar and he'll get the 3 votes in at least six or seven winning games this year. Not a bad effort being favourite for your second mail medal and he's not even 20 yet!!

Was out at Bomber land on Saturday and heard a whisper from a couple of reputable sources out there that, Daniel Healy, Luke McCabe and Troy Weller will be having a run in thier A Grade for thier last game of the season against the Tigers. I realise that Weller has been playing 2s all year but what that one will definately be worth a look, still expect the Tigers to smash them to pieces. Lets hope some locals might actually support the game that week, Saturday there were less than 12 hamley people under the veranda at Hamley. 1 was a time keeper, 1 was flipping steaks, we had 1 bar tender and 7 or 8 supporters watching. There's another club thats in real trouble unfortunately.

Its not up to the APFL Management to manage how club operates etc, Hamley need mow their own lawns and get their back yard in order, if thats how they are presenting themselves at present. The APFL needs to have strong clubs, but the clubs need to make sure they are run proficiently by themselves first.

The salary cap and import rules are doing there job, The comp is pretty even apart from Hamley at present, but every comp has team that is bottom.

and virginia, you cant say that they are even. They are in the exact same boat as the bombers, about the same amount of supporters in the clubrooms after a game as well. I would put the rams problem straight down to club management.

The import rule might need to be looked at to allow more per side dare i say it. Teams sitting 4th and 5th on the ladder were both smashed by teams 2nd and 3rd. There is a huge gap that exists and something needs to be looked at. Its rare that one import goes to a club without wanting to take his mate but quite often only the one can fit in the A grade and hence the second player is lost to another league. Every player should be welcomed to the league but then it is the responsibility of the clubs to manage this set up and in particular player payments. If a club wants to put all its eggs in one basket then that is the risk they face like Hamley and Virginia in years gone by. Teams like the eagles, Mallala and United all obviously have some players that they pay but from what i gather it is more of a covering of the players costs as opposed to them making a living of the game. A hundred bucks here or there is not much to worry about. If a club pays more than this then they are pretty naive and short sighted. One player does not make a side. Virginia and Hamley would still get pumped even with the likes of Wanganeen out there.

Virginia need a lot of work. They had Greg Phillips as a guest coach the other week and had 12 blokes turn up to training. That is embarrassing for the club and the league. I know one of Virginias better players (not hard to work out as they have 2 good ones) was disgusted with it.

Lets hope Hamley have some ring ins in the last game. That might allow Hummocks to steal the 2nd chance from United if the Bombers can knock them off.

This week will be a good test for Eagles and maggies to see who is the real deal this year. I sense the maggies might be falling off the pace a bit Swamp but time will tell. The general consensus is Hummocks played their best footy in a number of years against Balak last week. Balak wernt that bad, hummocks just looked awesome.

Far out Wedgie. If Balak didn't look that bad, then all the other sides are in serious trouble! A 15 goal win against a decent Peckers outfit just proves how good the ol' Eagles are. Bring on the finals I say!

There is no doubt United and mallala have improved on years gone by so it is a final series that is up for grabs for any of the top three really. Hummocks have a few blokes that earlier in the season were lacking a bit of confidence for whatever reason, or were just finding their feet in a side that has dominated with no real big changes in the past 3 years. The loss of Chivell and Arnold for most of year through injury, Truss to (semi) retirment, and knapstein due to import rule has allowed for blokes like Higgsy, Rowey and even baker to play with a bit more freedom without the fear of being dropped next week. My mail says Arnold wont play much more, and Chuvs was a direct replacement for Gongy so the young fellas still werent affected at the selection table. Guys like Stubberhawk, Dave Oswald and Bretty Price have also been playing bit parts in two games. So it has taken a while but the team is now really starting to fire on all cylinders. Plus you add recruit Barnesy to that and all looks pretty positive for the next 4 weeks!

Joel Montgomerie is a class unit but if he finishes in the top three in the medal count i will be surprised!!

Let's go through the roosters top choices from each team shall we?

From Hummocks and the Roosters tip Ryan Reid is a real hot chance and will have to be favourite, he kicks goals and gets heaps of the pill, i only hope for his sake he is not one who mouths off at the blokes in white, but judging by last years result, maybe that won't matter.

Hamley's Craig Harvey is another who will vote highly even though they haven't won too many games, he has clearly dominated this season and should feature well.

Longies will have many who will feature well but Warnes may receive a few as well as that Broad bloke, an even spread may hurt longies.

The Pies have the same problem, but If Josh Hollitt doesn't win a mail medal there is something wrong with the maggots, he is a gun and one of the best slilled and smartest players getting around, your man Bloodnut montgomerie will get a few as will young Whitty!

Balak's main hope will come from the big unit again, some damaging form early and imposing presence will ensure he is not forgotten by Doug and Co.

The Buss man and Lee Allmond will be the roosters best and will poll ok but probably not get enough the threaten.

and Virginia will have Harding, Papanotis and Dyda who will get some but not enough.

These are my tips and i may be way off the track but i wasn't wrong last year, so i'm going for back to back.
Sorry people I only deal in facts!
