All the information i know is that they may have already spoken to him but didnt get him the first time. And think he may have a brother or relation out there at the moment so my guess would be Luke Harrowfield but could just be all rumour too. Anything other than that you know as much as i do GWW

I have also heard they are chasing him still. I dont think he will go but we dont know what kind of money they are offering. If imps were to lose him at this time of the year after already losing fitzgerald it would be a huge loss and they would struggle to be truly competitive unless Seyers does play the full season. But as I said, I doubt he would leave imps

Who said the player in question was a CURRENT imps player,i believe the term used was premiership player! anyway he plays in the midfield.

Luke Harrowfield to Peake- that rumor has been going around ever since he started working at Ridleys, be at least 3 years now.
Imperials would not let a player like Luke go, they would match peake dollar for dollar, with only recruiting 1 new player in 2011 imperials will have the $$ to help look stay.

BUT Luke would not go, and i think you may have heard this rumor from someone that hasnt realised that there is already 4 Imps premiership players going there this season - Lynn (past imps premiership before move to Mypo) O'brein, B. Harrowfield and Josh Lewis Burns all played in Imperial premierships in 2009.

was speaking to a close mate who has got to see alot of Imps training and also hear there plans, and i would recommend to turn the AFL off tonight and get down to Johnstone Park to see 2 high quality teams battle out a high intensity trial game.
Imps will be just off full strength and also plenty of young kids are getting a run at imps this year my mate mention, which is good to see

Had a look at the Imperials Vs Mt Barker game last night. Mt Barker kicked 8 goals to 0 in the first term and ran out winners by about 11 goals. It was quite a good contest after quarter time. Imps played a lot of young kids and had some quality players missing. They will be around the mark because they have a spread of high quality players but they are really thin up forward. Trewen is a big bloke but a bit of a plodder. Can't see him kicking goals on quality opponents. I reckon they need to recruit a quality forward pretty quickly otherwise I think winning the flag this year will be a real struggle. It is probably worth mentioning if Mt Barker played in the RMFL it is unlikey any team would get within in 10 goals of them. A quality team in a much better competition.

It is called a car Slug. Games started about an hour apart. Only saw the first bit of the Imps trial and the last part of the Peake trial. I am happy to email you my travel itinerary for the night if you require it. Did not know we had detectives on this site.

Barmera won by several goals. Really good hit out for Mannum and probably Barmera Monash too I expect.
Mannum played plenty of kids and a couple of blokes who were getting their first crack in the A's and I am very sure they all stuck their hand up well. Hopefully gives Dolheguy some selection headaches come next week. Great headache to have.
Roll on the real stuff.

But Imps game started late I was led to believe, so Peakes game must have started really late

Very hard to look at trial form and not all lists are confirmed but here is my finishing order for the year

Ramblers
Meningie
Mannum
Imperials
Mypolonga
Jervois
Tailem Bend

With the right run with injuries and some top up recruiting I reckon any of the top four could win the flag. The other three teams are making up the numbers.

Round 1 is still 2 weeks away, but the games look to be pretty even, and they could give a rough guide how the season could pan out.

Mannum v Ramblers

Meningie v Imperials

Jervois v Mypolonga

Round one actually starts this week and it should be a good one

Ramblers went down to Langhorne creek by 2 goal on Sat but showed some good signs. The creek boys may have been missing some quality players but have always been really strong and are favourites to win a flag in what is generally a stronger comp. It must also be noted Ramblers were 3 or 4 short of a full side and played 4 under 17's to see how they go.

Ramblers have picked up former local and SANFL youngster Matt Thompson who will be a handy addition across half back with the loss of Pfeiffer and Button. He has had a slow pre season but once he starts firing will give them a great boost but they still looked a little thin down back.

If Pfeiffer doenst make it at sturt then they will be hard to beat. They have plenty of scoring avenues with Girardi, Jackson, Viney and big Alex Button looking fitter than last year and a midfield who kick plenty of goals

Another one to note will be 2008 joint best back man of the year Tyson Matthews. Has put in a solid pre season and is much fitter than last year so he will help fill the void of Button and Pfeiffer

Very interseted to see how Meninge and Jervois go this week as they have recruited well. No doubt this could be one of the most even comps for a couple years but Tailem will struggle IMO

Also had a look at the imps game friday night and after 1/4 time i thought it was a pretty reasonable hit out. while imps forward line is a little light on i think you'll find that Trewen ended up with 2 possibly 3 goals which isnt too bad considering they kicked under 10 amd also the guy that was standing him is probly one of the best centre half backs in country football and has 2 male medals beside his name from what i am told. thought his forward line pressure was reasonably good. And would be more conserned about 4 or 5 others games on the ground and pressure and effort before his. Mind you the season has not started yet and there is still along way to go and Mt Barker being a awesome side it is hard to tell exactly how imps will travel but they will definately be playing finals footy and pushing for the preniership also.

Fair comment on Trewen. Nunan is a star and not many forwards in this league would get a kick on him. There is no doubt Imps will have some holes this year and how their bottom six play may determine how they perform overall. You are right is suggesting some in this category were fairly ordinary Friday night.

is it a good thing that tailem have spent $1000-$1200 a game on two players($30 large)when every one on this forum has picked them to come bottom, wouldnt it be better to go for say 10 blokes at $200 and get some depth

Totally agree with you FTO it will have to be a full effort from all players on the field and the bench this season and they will have a pretty good year but do possibly have a lack of depth. I think this week will be a great test for imps as Meningie have recruited well and not lost alot. this weeks games should be good all round and will give a reasonable indication how sides will perform. Although it is round one and there will be a few to come back in a fair few teams.
