Nothing wrong with a bit of arrogance :D

I'm only saying this as us McLaren juniors were accused of being a 'bit' arrogant

by JR if i remember rightly

mayb u should re-check the post a mum, i said it was slightly arrogant that they already had their premiership tshirts made up b4 they had won!! i think u would agree that the 2 r totally different!!!
Willunga. Good on them for hanging onto their juniors and developing them into an awesome breed.
A MUM: Please read very carefully!

The amount of shit you post on this forum is getting out of control...

Take note of the above quote, you stated in a post to LF, that "from the outside it looks like they (Goolwa) develop their juniors very well."

Add to that the amount of times you pump up the way McLaren develop kids.

Mclaren would have to have the best junior grade results since joining the GSFL, Goolwa too have been up there in recent years.

But please understand, the way to judge your clubs junior development is to ensure the style of game that the kids are being tought is one that will hold them in good sted for the future. You also need to keep track of the number of juniors that flow on and become a solid contibutor in the seniors.

Now taking into account McLaren's & Goolwa's recent junior success (the last 5 - 7 years) it's pretty obvious that both clubs have some work to do to stop the trend of good kids that either lose interest or are not up to the standard required to be successfull when it really counts.

Before you come back with a typical one eyed reply, just think about your juniors attitude, the way they stick together on and off field, the respect they have for the members of their footy club, the amount of crap they're feed about how good they are. Just think about it, because I understand, and I would love the Saints & McLaren to grow their good batch of kids into an impressive breed so that they can be major players in the GSFL and not just make up the numbers.

I'm not trying to have a go, and I love it how passionate you are about your clubs kids, but can you see my POV...?

Good morning Jingles, O:)

First of all, that above quote was not mine.

Second of all, I'm sorry you think my posts are shit !! ... lol.

I can see your point of view but I think you misunderstand me somewhat :(

I am very well aware that we need to keep hold of our juniors which is what I've been saying all along, so I don't really understand where you're differing with me there. And yes I very well understand that we need to develop these juniors into established players within the GSFL. In regards to my club - Rome wasn't built in a day - and we have only had Minis for a few years now and only modies in the last two years... so our 'building' is younger than all the other clubs in the competition. Unfortunately it is not my job to teach these kids and I can only sit by and try to contribute in other ways to the club and hope that the rest falls into place.

The only reason I come on here and 'praise' the juniors.... and if you look back I don't just promote our juniors I promote everyones so I don't really know what you mean by 'one eyed' comments.... is because in this day and age it's good to have them 'off the street' so to speak and playing sport. Not all kids are academic where they can recieve praise etc via school, so what I am actually really passionate about is that kids can succeed in other ways.... and on here it's through playing football.

You know... seeing the kid that always runs last in the laps around the oval at the start of the season and then improves to be in the middle of the group, or the kid who has never kicked a goal in his life.. and they one day he does. When it comes down to it that's what I live for really !!

Even though I know you're going to have a go at me for saying... but I'm sorry....I am passionate about McLaren Football Club and I do want what you're saying 'we need'.... and sorry again, but I will probably continue to post shit !!

In return I am not having a go at you, and I hope I've explained my position properly... and believe it or not I do get what you're saying.

What you see on this forum with me... that's just the way I am.

Positive till the end, singing the praises for people who deserve it, and pumping up the kids.. no matter whose they are!!

O:)

Pull your head in. Look who is behind the scenes doing most of the crappy jobs at all footy clubs. As seen in the last episode of Alive and Kicking the person who was the club runner, bar manager, secretary and social organiser of their club was, wait for it, a woman. Shock Horror! No place for them indeed (sarc).

Pull your heads in everyone!

I never said there wasn't a place for women in Football... Without Women there would be no Football!!!!!

Don't take my POV on junior development as anything else but my POV on junior development.

As for the MODS giving me a rev up, read posts more than once before making uneducated remarks to big note yourself!

I'm just really concerned that alot of good juniors, are not flowing on to be good senior players. That is it, and I reckon it's because of what is feed to them during the most important stage of thier footy careers.

McLaren of late, just seem to have big problems...?

Jingles, i do not doubt that Mclaren have some troubles with there juniors continuing on to become great senior footballers! However, u can not doubt that the juniors are not being taught the correct things in there most important times in their careers, from knowing some people at Mclaren and knowing a couple people who know quite alot about wat is goin on down there the junior coaches and people who are involved in the juniors do try there upmost to keep the juniors at the club, however part of their problem is the culture around the senior part of the club which does not help and makes it hard for juniors at times, but as far as i know there is alot of work being done for that area to improve and hopefully the juniors of the next couple of years become great senior players!

I also spoke to someone through the year from mclaren and asked them is the reason why they are strugglin the development from there talented juniors into good senior players? And the person reiterated that 18 of the 21 playing in A's where developed from juniors in the past 8 seasons!

Changing the subject, it was interesting to note that Mail Medalist Randal Follett from Lang. Creek came 3rd in L.Creeks 'A' grade B + F with Nick Warren winning.

What a big weekend!
The Goolwa Boys down in the South East in Mt Gambier had a wonderful time. I thought their behaviour was excellent. Some very funny boys at the Mt Gambier Hotel. The Poker machines were not kind to them and they took it very well.

I took a netball side down in the Coach, and I hear a there were 2 very lucky Goolwa Boys.
