i didnt really say it right but what i meant by it was if there were more emphasis with senior success, and more importantly what it takes to have success at the senior level, then the juniors would become better senior footballers. being prepared to be a small fish in a big pond instead of a big fish in a small pond...

Yes, there are still players out there who aren't in it purely for the money! Anyway, there is no money in cows and the club certainly doesn't have it's own wine label (although i wish we did).

Small Budget?? I dont think so. Small budgets are what the saints, pongy & yank spent, hence where they fininshed. Not knocking Compass at all, i think they are on the right track. If you dont have the locals to fill the positions on the ground, recruit them. If you can spend the money spend it.

I think you will find Yank spent more than you think, hence their performance this year. Their biggest problem was getting all the players on the park week after week!![]()
Mclaren also spend F all money which is why we are also slipping away. You definately need to spend a little bit to get competitive with the better clubs. If you have a good base of local players, a recruit or two definately helps. The trick though is to keep those recruits for a few seasons and top up each year if possible.
