I dont know the exact situation, but yes he does get quite a lot of injuries. Reading a preview in the Standard it said he just got home from Vietnam so presumably he went over there during the break, so who knows he may have lost some fitness during that period. He is a gun forward though, could win Ramblers a flag if he and a few other Rooster players fire during the finals.

Jervois definitely have hit a form slump, will be interesting to see if its a temporary one or whether or not they will climb out of it soon. The final minor round game between Imps and Jervois could be a play off for top spot and the week off in the first week of finals.

They way Imps and Ramblers are going, could be an all Murray Bridge GF for the first time since 1985.

The rest of the season will be particularly interesting.

Will be interesting if Jervois dont win this flag this year - its been mentioned on this thread a few times a few of their Adelaide based players may leave the club if the 5 in a row scenario isn't possible (ie if they dont win this year's GF). Presumably the players they could lose would be Trevor Rigney (and his brother), Woodhouse, Ewer, and maybe Mahoney (unlikely though as hes a future coach of Jervois from what i've read), and maybe Schmidt, plus some of their newer guys such as Moller, Jagadonik etc.

A SFL club out of the finals? Presumably this would be Lonsdale (where i think at least one of those players i mentioned has played) who, without checking the SFL ladder, I'd say wouldn't be a chance of making finals this year.

Jervois do have a lot of money and contacts though, so even if they did lose some quality players, they'd no doubt offer some big bucks and get some decent players to replace any who may leave.

The club being talked about is definitely Christies Beach.
Its easy to see the link when you consider Paul Meekins played for the Bluds over the last couple of years.
For those that dont know, Tony Meekins (his dad) coaches Christies, and has known the Adelaide based Jervois boys since they were kids through junior footy etc.
Not sure how much coin Christies would have to throw around though...

Ah yes that certainly makes sense. Do you know if the SFL is reverting to the points system that a few other leagues apparently are/might be? That may impact whether or not they could recruit them or not.

Meekins just trying to string his coaching career out with more talk. He will be shown the door at the end of ths year. No coin left as his son is the highest paid player down there, Fat and slow and cant play.

Is Meekens the head coach of Jervois?
If he goes the Rigney boys will also leave and go to the highest bidder I'd say as I doudt they'd go to Christies as they have strong ties to Lonsdale.

Mypolonga belted Mannum by 20 goals on the weekend... How are they so good? I see that another one of the Pedlers is playing again (played the rest of the year at Woodville-West Torrens)

They could open the finals right up and be a contender in their current form

Yeah this finals series is going to be particularly interesting in the Rivery Murray League. 4 clubs with definite claims to the title. 4 evenly matched clubs, i think a lot will depend on injuries to key players (even more than ever). Really hard to pick who will play off in GF, i think Imps should make it (their top 6 or 7 players are up their with the best in the league and they have great forwards), and probably Jervois as well, but the Bluds dont have the invincibility of the last 3 seasons. Ramblers shouldn't be discounted either, particularly if Girardi and Viney have a big finals series.

Re Joe Pedlar (from WWT), will he actually qualify for the finals? Not sure how many games hes played, if he did it would be a huge bonus for Mypo. I've got a feeling that next year could be Mypo's year though (if the money doesn't run out).

Jervois dont seem to be the same force they have been the last few years, lost a few quality players and replacements havent filled the gaps. Will be an interesting final series
