No, but neither really do Centrals or West. Although etsa oval is at Centrals club rooms, it's used by all clubs (we trained their tonight). The other training oval is Chinnery over the westside, right next too Weat's club rooms.
Ports are the only club in the SGL to have their own oval, however all games are played at Memorial Oval, which is where Lions club rooms are.

7Dog I have always wondered why they don't give an oval each in PA- centrals to etsa, west to chinnery and u blokes to the main oval. Any reason or is one/chinnery not up to scratch. I know in Pirie lions have the main one (which must help), sollies the globe and ports theirs? Enlighten me as it must be a bit confusing from time to time.
& just quietly walked the dog on Ports the other day, it is very good.

yeah thats what i thought... we trained at westies tonight... certainly good lighting for the dogs

just odd training at other clubs ovals... which i figure are all council owned.. something different... shame all clubs dont have there own oval to play on and train on. love to play (except for the crapy wind blowing a gail down the groun) and watch games at etsa..

saying that central oval is a ripper to play on and a good place to watch... good place to play.
1st experience of SGL on the weekend, really enjoyed it...
looking forward to south this weekend. should be a ripper of a day...

Because we play only at Central Oval, every club wants & needs to train there. The size of Central Oval would be one of the biggest in Country SA (definately besides Bennett Oval, Whyalla), the size of the other ovals is really too small. However they are probably bigger than some of the ovals I have heard described around SA.
Chinnery is the worst surface of the other 2 ovals and too unsafe as the Oval is surrounded by a fence, which would be close to the Boundary Line.
I'm not quite sure what happens in Pirie, there Juniors (U/15's) play through out the week. Globe Oval isn't too bad, don't know about the lighting though. Never stepped foot on Ports Oval, but it looks nice. Memorial Oval is the only oval that hosts games, so I would expect Sollies & Ports to train there sometimes.

Yes the lighting hasn't been changed yet.
Council owned Ovals, ETSA can get very windy.

Can't wait for the weekend too, Sunday will be a big game.....they always are.

The quality of the oval has been upgraded over the summer. The last few years, some of our players would always pull up sore from training there.

This week will help to see a bit more where the clubs are-
Lions, West, South with no confidence on any........
If west beat Port there will be only 1 undefeated side on sunday!

Didnt see alot running around in their 2nds but they did play as a team.

Didn't notice Ricky or Feltus?

I did notice Feltus but i didn't think that he would be apart of your future plans for the season however i did notice a lad that played in the midfield wore number 9 played quiet well

Skully, he will push for a spot this week.

Feltus playing the A's this week

Central to good over south in the A's... i reckon souths had more shots on goal but not many were set shots, missed most due to pressure by centrals... overall the bloods were dominate over the ground as a whole and souths were very wasteful up front.... some good talent in both sides.
saw something in that game whic ive never seen before, a south player stepped on the back or should i say walked on the back of a centrals player whil the central player was laying on the ground... that was the only negative, which was a really good game to watch... i reckon both sides will be round the mark. and south are only goin to get better... 7-dog you may be able to awnser this, but what was that footy like??? looked like the ones you get from target or kmart.

in the 2's, well what can i say... centrals dominated for a quarter and half then south to there credit worked really hard, and i think his name is gilly, he dominated up forward... disapointing loss for centrals. and good win by souths...

Summed up pretty well. 8 - 20 never helps win games of footy & I think Centrals scored 6 goals directly from behinds.
Another game where we were second to the ball (1st qtr especially) & the 4 goal margin at quarter time was the difference at the end. We were lucky to lose by 4 goals.

Yeah that act isn't needed on the footy field.

Yeah it was Gilly who had a good stint up forward.

Good wake up call ready for hard clash with West.

The ball after qtr time was better than the 1st qtr. But it wasn't the same as the one West/Ports used the day prior.
That ball had a grip like a kookaburra football, today's isn't a football that should ever be used.
