coyote ugly wrote:there is no way I would be writing us off yet, with players of the calibre of Cummings, Reidy, Arnell and Crompton plus possibly a return of Ozzie Luke to come back we will be around the mark. Wilkinson is yet to take the mound. How did Hester pitch a one-hit game? our batting was awful against a B grade pitcher plus the umpiring was shocking.
The average age of our outfield last game was 45. We were short due to dirt circut. We are a lot better than saints.

Didn't Wilky pitch the first game against Indians? Pritty sure he did and Harvz was behind the plate all night. Good to hear that Riedy is returning and Cromo as well. When does Cromo get back? Jamie will improve this year, he had a reasonable carnival in Adelaide and pitched well against Mount Gambier. Couldn't see Luke returning tho. Have spoken to him a few times at work in the last few weeks and he seems pritty happy at Dorward Oval. Maybe Haje can shed some more light on that for us? Good luck to you Coyotee boys and will see ya's for a beer Friday. (Gotta Umpire B's. good excuse for a beer and some wilky bashing  )

Just got back from walking the dog, pitch looked same old, same old from the fence. New pitch according to Bluey a few weeks ago, will be for Rav2, (infront of the club rooms), purely for 20/20, Mallee Parks Flicx Pitch to be borrowed for this. Simo played B's on it last week & said it played very well. Question is, will the same prep go into it for Ravendale, & then for its return to Mallee Pk?

The GM will pull up the pitch himself, roll it up and carry it to ravendale on his shoulders... all so he can have a beer upstairs and watch the cricket..... seems pointess playing on the other oval tho... the lights are more powerful on that oval and if anyone did go and watch the facilities would be beter over that side...
The GM told me 'if they dont do 20/20 I will do a Kerry Packer and go out on my own and do it' " I will get teams from all over the state coming here to play".... 'I have the sponsors...I have the power"...
Hey Mighty Bomber hows the line-up looking for the GF on Sunday? What about LS tips??? $1000 or nothing...... MB can still see that monkey slipping thru his hands in the last over of the game last year....
bystander.... christmas turkey then straight into it.... can everyone meet at the yatch club at `12.30

Former Berri Cricket Club skipper Tony Siviour's playing for Cleve (I think it's Cleve), how's he going so far?

If we play 20/20 on that flix pitch it will be a disgrace. That thing has never been laid properly and it needs the grass to grow through it. The GM is dreamin. It's only a matter of time till someone with a bit of pace bowls on it and either slips a*se up or takes someones head off from a half volley. Will the association be supplying the white balls? At least the Southern Eyre Bushrangers (Sorry to steal your idea Scoob) will be able to get some more use out of their shirts! They are nearly appealing as much as Charlton these days, eags must have played in the sub continent at some stage.

Has been quiet with the bat - 2 and a 25 n.o.

However took 5/22 of 10 overs last match against Cowell.

Season hasn't really taken off yet, There are only 5 teams this year which means a bye, last week was Henderson Shield Vs Le Hunte and for the next two weeks there is a harvest break.

Tony Siviour made 40 and took two wickets last week against Le Hunte at Wudinna in the Henderson Shield match. Sounds like he felt a lot more at home on the turf wicket.

We have been surpassed easily by Todd Steer's antics last week. Was probably only 2 times he had the ball in his hand & didn't have a shy at the stumps, after appealing for a catch or whatever!

Luv the banter!!!

The good old running at the ump and then standing mid pitch with hands on hips and having a crack at the batsman has become an art form... I suppose the big boys do it on TV, so it must be OK for us country boys to do it as well...

That's why I have so much respect for Stiffy, one of the best and quickest bowlers on the EP for the last ten years but he never gets into that stuff. I've seen some bowlers do it when they bowl half track, meduim pace pies. They need to take a look at Stiffy to work out how far off the pace they are if he doesn't do it.

Agree with your Stiffy comment WCP 100%.. Just a top bloke who doesn't get involved in all that crap..
Loved facing him over the years as he makes you concentrate and when you've made runs against him you know you've earned them..
But I was talking about fieldsman Panther...

In 2 seasons at SES, I reckon I only saw maybe a handful of bouncers from Stiffy...but if I could read minds, I reckon every batsman was every now and then thinking that one could come their way, and they knew it'd hurt if it hit the target.
The b#stard was pretty nippy in the nets too.
How many rounds have been played over there? How are the teams sitting? Couldn't find a website with results, we've got a cracker for our league over here.
