Uraidla: 163 x 105
Onkas: 152 x 105
Ironbank: 130 x 120

Even if there is a plus or minus 5 metre tolerance, it gives a rough idea

Will do the rest later when the boss isn't looking

Here we go chaps the rest:

Bridgewater: 130 x 98
Mt Barker: 157 x 114
Hahndorf: 158 x 105
Heathfield: 164 x 109

And for Country:

Gumeracha: 161 x 112
Mt Pleasant: 180 x 117
Mt Torrens: 166 x 96
Nairne: 163 x 95
Callington: 172 x 110
Milang: 149 x 109
Meadows: 140 x 114
Macclesfield: 154 x 105 (200 x 105 if you include the whole area behind the northern goals!!!)
Echunga: 167 x 113
Kangarilla: 153 x 119
Kersbrook: 165 x 123

As I said these are a little rough so give or take 5 metres but you get the idea.

Re: Hills Football League

Postby Oi You » Thu Jun 28, 2007 2:51 pm

Saturday was the first time I have seen Ironbank play after having seen Lofty on a couple of occasions. On the game, from an independent perspective, the main difference between the two teams was confidence, Lofty were confident and arrogant (rightfully so over the last couple of years), whereas Ironbank need another win over a contender. If the can snag the points against Onkas over there, or a Lofty or Uris, there is no reason they cant be genuine contenders.

Have seen muffy play before and the guy is genuine class and will win games off his own back, Graetz was unimpressive and seemed like he didn’t want to be there, but I will compliment him following his opponent down the ground. Flo was good, genuine workhorse, no fuss, well played, would have had him in my best, although I don’t think he was enjoying himself and was happy to get his cheque and go home? Trzesinski on the other hand, was average and in my opinion should not have been in the best players and seems to receive a good run from the men in orange.

On the incidents, I am an accredited Level 2 umpire and, even though you don’t want to see them in bush footy, more cards should have been dished out. Strangling someone on the ground can one, be a free kick for high contact, and two, can be reported in extreme circumstances for intentional high conduct or misconduct. I did not see this particular incident, so I can really not comment on it. However, someone who headbuts another player is stupid and can be called a tool, but someone who strangles a player on the ground, is even more of a tool! I saw numerous behind the play incidents and in the play incidents that were unsportsmanlike, from both teams. I would say that Ironbank got sucked in as I believe that Lofty were the instigators of many of these incidents, and I get the impression that they are all angels and can do no wrong, wrong. There was one incident that went unnoticed about ten metres from play in the last quarter, where a young IB player (Very talented defender, need to work on his fitness a lot, but has a bright future) had laid a tackle and the ball spilt away. As play continued, the IB player was standing up and was kicked by the Lofty players studs in his knee. The IB player unfortunately retaliated and a bit of push and shove followed with some words, but was a sideshow.

This unfortunately sums up the game, Lofty instigated a lot of incidents and got under the Ironbank players skins, and the Ironbank players often snapped stupidly and got caught. The umpiring seemed to flow one way all day, which may have been a contributing factor to these incidents.

Also to the young fella in the B's, we dont want to see things like that happen to anyone. Hope the bloke is alright, sounds like he is better than was expected. Also I hope the young Ironbank player that was on the recieving end of the revenge attack is OK too. This incdent itself was one of thoses things in footy, and I believe that there was no malice in it. After the game I heard a verbal altercation between the two teams players and supporters as the teams were entering the changerooms. I understand that there were some hot heads from the game and incidents, but that is not on. I believe that a couple of Ironbank players and officials, including Smith I believe, wanted to see the young bloke or aked how he was or something, and this is how the verbal stoush started. Poor form.

oi you, that was no revenge attack mate, it was me that did it and it wouldve been done any other day, and was completely fair. on the field i was also the one player on our side trying to calm heads because i didnt really see anything wrong with what smith did. it always gets heated when someone gets hurt, especially in a way that could appear reckless.

after the game i came to the changerooms a bit after the rest of the team and only saw the end of the altercation so cant really comment but think it was all above board considering the tight game that was just played.

no doubt be seeing IB in the B's again in finals and of course last minor game but can assure u that there will be no ill feeling towards smith by the players.

GTS, I didnt say that it wasnt fair. I agree it was a good fair bump, but from the sideline it looked like it might not have happened had the game not been in the state it was. Wasnt having a shot, just wondered if that young fella was alright as he did not look at all well when I saw him coming off the field.

The young Ironbank bloke was fairly well concussed, stayed in the changerooms until half way through the third quarter of the A's apparently.

One of those things really, the game was played in a manner where both sides chucked there bodies in really hard all day. It is just a fluke that there were too blokes knocked out cold during the game, both from genuine football incidents, nothing more.

After the game near the changerooms however when I and a couple of my team mates inquired about Warbo, we were responded to with a barrage of verbal abuse from a number of officials, supporters etc. In hindsight I understand they were just heat of the moment emotions but at the time it became quite confrontational.

oiyou, sori mate, read you wrong. glad he's all good though.

atank, when too sides walk off next to each other after a hard well fought out game, its always the supporters that werent playing that get over heated dont they. why dont they just leave it to the player?? (so im not misquoted, im referring to both sides supporters).

i felt it was one of the most fairly, hard games, that ive been involved in.

Will give you a report M80s on TV v Kersbrook. Should be a good game with the biggest Spenders in Country Div taking on the biggest Amateurs in Hills Footy. I think because of these vast differences in Club Cultures there always seems to be animosity between the two. I've never heard as many supporters yell 'Show me the Money' when Kersbrook hit the front in the final quater of last years prelim. But that's all ancient history now, and with TV gaining momentum and the Brooks stumbling last week, it should ensure a classic encounter.

Not so sure CC17. We did flog them by 20 goals in the 1st Round, but in fairness to them, they had a heap out and Gary is at it again (Hill 16 goals Last Week). Kersbrook were hardly convincing last week against Echunga, and TV easily accounted for the Dees last month. The Top 5 in Country Div are an even bunch, and while I'd like to see Kersbrook spank TV, I'm not so sure.

to be honest with you mate, i dont think the top 5 are all that even, kersbrook and kangarilla the teams to beat, echunga beat brookers on sat by crowding up all space, 20 guys at every ball up so ive heard, when they are given space they will flog anyone and kangarilla are just really hard at it, echunga will go alright but as for TV and medows, im not so sure

well what a big week we have had lofty just 2 good in a and b grade last sat .the boys did put up a good fight in the 2s but just lost momentum at bad times where they kicked a couple of goals we just couldnt back ..we will get our chance later in the year to avenge that loss . the a grade was a different story ibank started like a house on fire but couldnt maintain the rage as lofty slowley worked back to even then a couple of goals up at halftime ..they then came out after the long break and blew us away :( :( but there is plenty to work with these guys have only seen pressure like that twice this year and will get better 4 the experience ! i did like the look of nathan p/gray good size and plays both tall and is good on the deck flo was good also but patchy ..

this week serves up blackwood at thunder pk and the boys are after wins in all grades to start to sure up finals positions in the a grade this is a must win to keep a nice break on blackwood and mt ronnie ..any way enough said good luck to all this week :D :D :D :D :D

p.s
1. how is warbo going gts ?
2. ins and outs armytank ? :D :D :D(just so you dont feel left out mate )

i think cougars right... any side that has Mike Carter running around, especially in the form he's in right now, aren't going to go down easy... will be a cracker of a match i'd imagine.
gee's nairne must be dissapointed with 07, looked like they had recruited so well, and yet when it all came down to it, there not even in the hunt!

twe, yeah hes all good mate, doesnt remember the game or incident but besides that dare say hell play nxt week.

i reckon your game this week has the possibility of being a corker. i think itl run either two ways. blackwood in a close one, or the more likely you boys by a big margin. if IB gets their run going and get it upto wendlbourne and will m they should kick a bag.

good luck fellas, im on my way out to blackwood in bout 20mins so i wont bag them too much.

Nairne... great list, most of them injured and their own worst enemy, have you heard them winge and biatch on the field, they have been in the hunt and should have won 6 more games but their mouths and un-diciplined acts cost them all of them. From my sources, a couple coming back over the next couple of weeks and should get better as the season progresses, as long as they shut their mouths

Clint Foster still going. He and Nairne have had a heap of injuries this year and after missing last season (away playing cricket with Hunsy) Clint probably hasn't had his best season.
