Pretty impressive playing 200 for McLaren. They would have only played 230 ish games as a club over 12 and a bit years. Tough to be up and about for that long.

First time this year I've been game enough to put up some tips!

Bays vs Mclaren
Creek vs Victor
Compass vs Goolwa
Pongy vs Strath
Yank vs Willunga

4 of the 5 could still go either way though.

Nah let him play! Then take their points if they win.

But would the league do it?

Not the creeks they're untouchable!

Jimmy Williams knocked up his 200 in 2010 from memory and Justin Houston last year. Vale/Flat merged in 1998 and into the GSFL 2001. Jimmy was the first 'McLaren' player to achieve this.

Reckon I posted 6 weeks ago that Goolwa-Pt Elliott would be shakers once they gelled. Now fourth and a serious team. :) Hyperthetical of course but if Mypo beat Mt Compass at home next week, McLaren beat Langhornes and Yank lose to Strath, then last years 2 Grand Finalists will play off at 9 and 10 in round 8. WOW.

Some of the comments on here regarding coin paid by the Creeks is a little amusing. Some of you need to look in your own backyard. I know for certain that as a club the Creeks do pay but not like some clubs in the comp. just a wild guess but I would say that right now Goolwa/Pt Elliot, Encounter Bay, Victor Harbour, would all be paying far more than the Creeks for the talent on the park. Success does not always mean a club has bought it. I reckon there could be a little bit of tall poppy syndrome here. If money is such a driving factor what's happening at the Creek this year?

On another note, great game between Victor and the Creek yesterday. Tight battle all game and was any bodies with a couple of minutes to go.

The more I deal with money and footballers the more I realise that the amount you spend is irrelevant to an extent. You need to spend it on the right players and people. Last week we had our recruits take senior colt training, work the BBQ hut from 730am, get in the best players, then do a stint behind the bar and support the club function. Happy to hand over the pay cheque after that.

Interesting times ahead Yank Man , I agree with where you are coming from . I think it is going to be a traffic jam for 5th spot and will go right down to the last round. I was spoken to about Angus Lally 3 weeks ago but couldn't fit him in , will be a BIG in for the Creeks.

You just get the feeling that both teams will be a bigger threat in the second round than most would think. Lally is a massive if he plays. Yank just need a few back from the injury list, their best is more than good enough. :)

Correct the creek$ flew Timmy Rogers in from broome for last weeks game, seems a bit of panic set in last week and big Timmy came to help out looked fairly fit from reports. Creek were already tight with there points & after recruiting lally who is worth 4 points, does this mean other recruits will play in the ressies when the injuries are back? Don't let "jackpot Jim" fool us creek will be around the mark again at the business end.
With the comp being so close I think we would all agree two or three injuries to a team could be the difference between winning & losing each week.

Lally did play and looked good, will be a great asset. As for points all is good and no one will will need to be banished to the 2's. Timmy R played well also and will be a permeant fixture soon. Creeks will be a better side after the turn but my monies is on EB, I have not seen a side play like they did against Creeks ever! They were awesome.

Yes, The Bays played great against the Creeks a few weeks back but the Creeks played terrible that day, allowed their opponents run riot with little or no pressure on them. Was the same in round 1, Willunga looked awesome in that last qtr as they took advantage of the Creeks tiring badly. Same as Goolwa against the Creeks in the 2nd qtr the other week.
Creeks cant win the flag this year but could still possibly make the 5 but only IF they get the majority of their injured players back on the park quick.
Bays obvious standouts on what we've seen so far but a long way to go with plenty more surprises to come.
