Well lovely day at Loxton Oval today.

Lovely to meet both the Careys. Both looked in form playing for Peake. Should Paralowie be worried about losing another player????
And what a lovely goal was snapped around the corner! ;)

Didn't get to meet CJ or Pag today. But I saw them get a few kicks.

I saw the tail end of Salisbury v Blackfriars. The Tucks had their chances to win that game, but ended up going down by a couple of points.
CJ - keep your feet a bit more mate. You'll get more kicks that way.

Pag - has a bit of talent too.

Carey - what's Peake gonna do about a ruckman? How many guys were you missing today?

Was watching Walkerville against Loxton North in the battle of the cats before I had to leave. It appeared North was going to be on top. The club needs a few more recruits though.

Well, I managed to get on here before Pag!!!
So I can tell yas about my great tackle on him. lol.

Ummm actually it was a rare highlight in a game that saw the Flinders Uni Crabs smashed by Salisbury. led by a very red (sun burnt) Pag off the half back.
Boy can play!

Blacks had a good win over Peake.
Carey - Peake have a lot of work to do mate. Sorry dude. But there will be some photos of them in the next edition of the Mallee's Border Times - including some pics of the Paralowie recruits who played today.

CJ sat on the bench in the second half. But to his credit he kicked a great running goal in the first half. all that practice from the pockets during the warm-up paid off hey mate!

I don't know who won the whole shebang - but with Salisbury winning all three of their games and boosting their percentage with a big 20 goal margin in the third game, I reckon they might have.

Nuri left overnight. Didn't stay for the second day - not sure what happened there.

Loxton and Loxton North looked good in their games. both played very young sides which may be the norm this season, as they haven't recruited hugely. Lee Kruger looked a class above for the Tigers.

Oh yeah Dutchy - i heard the Blackies timekeeper talking about you during the Peake game - couldn't quite make out what he was saying. but didn't seem very complimentary.

CJ - there should be a photo of your team-mate in the Loxton News this week. I'll let you know if it is when it comes out. You can buy it in the city if you want it.

It's a long drive home on a Sunday afternoon...

We had an awesome time up there. Were slightly intoxicated on the Saturday night, had some hilarious conversations with some Flinders Uni blokes at the Loxton Club. One of our blokes also ended up spending the night in Berri, in a 4x6 cell. Gold.

The ovals were in great nick, and the complex itself with the camping grounds, pool, grandstand and clubrooms is a beautiful setup.

As far as the footy went, Blackfriars were very good. Got to play on CJ for about half the game which was interesting, although I did start the game at the wrong of the ground so he could have a head-start. Considering Blackfriars weren't full strength, to lose by 2 points to a Div 4 side, would make me think they they will definitely be around the mark of Div 6 this year, without question.

Peake weren't too bad. The Paralowie guys (Dutchy, Aloisi, Boothy) stood out a bit, but they had a couple of good locals. Number 3 I think in the middle wasn't too bad. Did Hendo play? Would've been nice to have a chat mate. Dutchy's goal was all ass, couldn't do it again in his life if he tried. The man doesn't even wear football socks...

Today's game against Flinders Uni was the most I'd had playing footy since I was 10. I remembered a few of the boys from the night before at the pub, when they'd encouraged me to hit one of their own teammates. Everyone was lined up in positions when they had another player rock up, watched this bloke run on and give me a little love-tap. Happened to be Dogwatcher. He got me later on too, probably should've been holding the ball while he was there. Spent 90% of the game across half-back laughing and sledging. Good times.

Nah nothing too bad, got kicked out of the pub then cops picked him up for being drunk & disorderly, took him back to the tent and told him to call it a night. Changed his top and went back out and the cops were sitting across from the pool and nabbed him.

He's the treasurer, is just a flat out ordinary umpire. In the Blacks game he called a ball out of bounds that was about a foot inside the line, we won the contest too and were taking off with the footy. Jugs would've laughed because we all know how ordinary he is. Mate I was laughing at ya too.
