Unfortunate that the EEFL Sporting Pulse website has not updated 2011 clearances as yet. From other Sporting Pulse websites the following clearances have been lodged:

Jarred Seal - Kimba to Cummins Kappinie
Tyson Jenner - Cleve to Sacred Heart OC
Tim Walsh - SANFL to Lucindale (I should imagine he would need one from Cowell as well)

Ins to Eastern Eyre but club of destination unknown:

Ethan Tiller - Lock to ???
Brett Brown - Lincoln South to ???
Tyson Bray - Boston to ???
Sanjesh Singh - Boston to ???
Tony Weetra - Boston to ???

From previous discussion it can be assumed that the last three mentioned from Bostons are all headed to Ports.

On the Port Lincoln Sporting Pulse site, under club websites and then click clearances under each individual club, same for GFFL and FWFL.

Singh played for Lincoln Districts as a Ruckman in Kinlough Cup about 4 years ago and went allright then.

Disturbing news from a few Rudall players on the weekend that they held merger talks with Cleve during the week with a view to a 2012 union.

I dont think it will work, Rudall are a community club where everyone pitches in. Cleve are a town club where all the work is left to too few, hence the reason they are in this situation. I cannot see a Rudall community all doing their share for a club titled Cleve United or Cleve Districts or at the very worst Cleve Rudall.

Rudall know they hold the whip hand here even though they are not the best team of the two historically and Cleve probably have a slightly better senior list at present, if no merger happened Rudall would be the stronger club over the next five years.

The ideal scenario would be for Cleve to simply fade away and their remaining players gravitate equally to Ports and Rudall.
That result would produce 4 strong equally competitive clubs.

One more aspect to consider if this merger was to go ahead is that at least 40 netballers wont get a game anymore.

so what your saying is cleve the bigger town out of the 2 of em would not hav a team? cant see that happening m8! bin talking to a few players on each side and they are all for the idea! the same thing will happen to rudall as wot happen when darke peak folded and lose out in the long run if it doesnt go thur! think its the only way forward.

Yes Cleve is the bigger town so why are they short of players because they have the smallest area to draw players. If it is left to the players no doubt it will go through, but supporters, netballers, members, life members, EEFL and the SANFL will all have their say before all this is over.

Hmm I think there are several factors to weigh up with it. Netball will be the big issue. I know of merged football clubs still have their separate netball clubs. I am not sure how that is working though as in is it a good thing or not.

i wouldn't be surprised if many of the families who are out at Verran and towards Wharminda and play footy / netball for Rudall will go to Ports if the merger goes through. In my opinion they just identfy / associate with Ports people better than Cleve if they had to choose. IE extended family or friendships through time spent at their shacks at Arno or Port Neill.

I think both clubs struggle for numbers in many of the grades most year. They get the occasional year where the cycle is good and they have a lot of kids in one grade but not many in others.

i know Rudall keep a record of when kids are born into the club and so they have a very good idea of what years are potentially going to be lean years for particular grades or plentiful years. Bit like farming really ;)
Success is in trying

why would cleve fade away if they have more football numbers then rudall and cleve has heaps of netballers.

what stutation are cleve in, have you bbeen involved in the club, who are the few doing all the work??

and who would the cleve players play for if the club just folded ..... teams in other leagues gffl, plfl, ypfl .... or even kimba, i highly doubt any a-grade players would go to rudall, some arno, but most other leagues or kimba!!

and cleve fade away??? how many rudall / arno ppl come from cleve, what town of the three have a school?? your dreaming if you think cleve will fade away and noto have any sport played there!!

as hard as merging is, cleve and ruudall need to do it, and the main problem with it is not the players, yet the ex-players!!!

Rama and Bombers Boy you both sound and I believe are very passionate supporters of the Cleve FC. You have, as would be expected, vehemently defended your club against what I have previously posted. Yet you seem to contradict that passion by supporting your club losing it's identity with a merger.

All our previous discussions would however appear academic now following advertisments placed in todays Tribune. Rudall have a combined Football/Netball special meeting for March 17th and Cleve have a special amalgamation meeting on March 24th. It almost looks as if there is a push for the merger to happen for this season.

OK next topic for discussion colours and logo for the new club.

i dont see how they have time to merge for this year .... but thats not my problem.....also puts question to how long the eefl would want to play with 4 teams, what clubs do they look at approaching to join, or where do the 4 tteams then go??

it would be stupid for either team to tell the other to fold, because all we would see is a d/p - rudall saga ..... rudall dont merge, tell d/p to fold, hoping they get d/p players, instead ..... d/p help cleve win some a grade flags.

i know for sure if cleve folded most of there a grade footballers wuouldnt go to rudall, yet if it was a merge they would all be happy to play with the rudall lads.

I know Kimba are still keen for the Great Flinders/Eastern Eyre merger, maybe this is Cleve and Rudall jockeying to take up their position in the merged league.

You not at Cleve this year?.
