I may have read this post wrong but GTS did you say that Fleet will be playing up forward for the B grade or is this a mistake and Masden is playing A's. If so Ironbank back line could be under a bit of presure who's gonna man up on whom down there. could be important battle to see who wins the game, who's backline can contain best. well its now a case of if ironbank wins, the next game these 2 play will be for the courier cup, but ironbank has to win given Uraidla is playing Lobethal. any thoughts TWE or army tank

Not quite sure what you mean super boot about the courier cup :?

Big game none the less and I really don't think it matters who plays in the forward line for Lofty, we need to kick more goals than them and at the end of the day it is 21 players against another 21.

With regards to courier cup, Uraidla are 2 games clear so they will be playing. For Ironbank to play Uraidla in the courier cup we need to beat Mt Lofty by 2.5% more than what Onkas will beat Bridgewater by for us to finish Round 9 second on the ladder. Although the Shanty v Onkas game is at Shanty and you can never rule Shanty out at their home dung heap, I can't see Ironbank making up 2.5% on Onkas in the biggest game of the year so far for Ironbank. I believe Ironbank can and will win against Mt Lofty but I really don't think that the Courier Cup has any weight on this game for us.

SB, nah mate, fleet, madsen and agars are all in the B's. (well they were last wk anyway). it should be a good challenge for our backline but we should have 2 of our regular backs, back this week. cant wait.

cheers for the reread armytank, yeah thats what i was implying, thus to my question before, this will easily be the biggest test for the ironbank backline this year. from the games i have seen it seems to be holding up quite well, however as seen last year masden seems hard enough to contain let alone fleet down there as well, (if he remains in the B's) thus the question of whom you think will take who, my guess is that big ax will take masden and lacey (if playing B's, shouldnt played well on the weekend), mclean or hamp to take fleet. would like to see hamp play on masden again as he did quite well on him last year till his injury, however from the 1 game ive seen him play he still looks a bit underdone/ lost and it seems Ax is back to his best down back in the last line of defence and should/must get the main job. the one game i did see was last week however, so there may even be a shuffle to place armytank up forward again, really streatch the lofty backline lol. IB forward line did look potent though so intern it will be a big test for Lofty backline, especially with the quality IB midfield showed last week.

there is my rant, trying to talk the match-ups up in the B Grade, should be a good curtainraiser for the main one after. I think a sicky may be pulled on saturday, to see the game.

Dropkick i reckon you will fine Sam Miles was originally in the South zone. Was traded or something to Sturt?

Mt Lofty /Ironbank B grade match this week will be better quality than a Birdwood / Bridewater A grade game i reckon!!! Hope the coaches just let the game become a shoot-out... Could be some big scores on the "little oval". (Rooster don't know you blokes are really in any position to be pointing the finger at ovals, your's is little and don't even get me started on the shape :o :o )

I spoke to him and he was looking for somewhere to play footy with a bit more fun involved and with a few friends at Ironbank figured he would pass his number on. Not sure whether he has spoken to Ironbank and hasnt appeared at any trainings so doubt he would be playing anytime soon.

Noone said he wasn't a gun. He IS a dead set gun. The issues raised were:

1. That he got picked without training based on his ability. (Compared to Chappy who has trained intermittantly and dominated the association game and misses out)
2. Some people didn't think he deserved to be in the best some weeks. (Personally I wouldn't know)

That wouldn't stop him playing at goat park if he's from Sturt!

Ah knows a couple of the new boys in Wallis, Simo, Parko(Chesty Bonds), etc. Believe hes a wingmen/HFF sort of player. Playing under 19s at Sturt but I havent heard any news in few weeks so don't believe he is coming up. Very unlikely I'd say

Looking forward to it! Think at the start of every year you set yourself for the Lofty game. Great rivals and think healthy respect between the two teams. Probably due to no meat heads in either team unlike Bridgy, etc. Obviously Lofty would go in favourites but great challenge to see how far we've come from last year. Both teams have quality in their midfield with Muffy, Williams, Muirden, Howser, Wendels up against Trezenski, Wood, Birch, Floreani so I think both teams will get alot of it down forward. Will just be a matter of which team forwards function better.

And the B's is gonna be a ripper of a game. Reckon Ironbank with the likes of Smith Davey Thomas and Flaherty up forward might get the points
Can't wait!!

Shake, do you think the Birdwood oval is small??? I would've thought it was one of the bigger ovals in the league.
