Just had a good look at the Country Div Program. The H.F.L. always maintain they act in the best interests of football. They have a funny way of showing it. Why throw United Eagles up against Birdwood at Birdwood in Round 1? Why set up a struggling club for failure in the very first round of the year? In Round 2, poor Sedan-Cambrai get the next kick in the guts against the Roosters. Obviously there are hidden agendas on the part of the HFL here. I can think of a couple.

Not sure what hidden agendas you're talking about but there's probably only one side that won't flog Cally and they can only play them twice. If Cally keep insisting that they have an improved list and want to keep playing A's and B's, then they're gonna have to keep putting up with the floggings.
I think the only thing the HFL board have done wrong is not force Cally to just play C grade until they can prove that they're improved and competitive.

Why not play a 'good' side first up, Roosters have got a few new players who will be settling in and probably will be some weeks before they hit their straps. The end result will be the same anyway - once you get over 20 goals, it's a flogging however you look at it.
What are the hidden agendas? Don't be coy on here, what's the point?!

It's okay McGov, didn't mean to be coy on here. Gimp touched on one of my suspected HFL agendas re the Eagles. The league is a toothless tiger and haven't been brave enough to force United Eagles to play C's, so they are trying to illustrate the point by allowing them to be flogged hard enough so that the public protests and ends up making the decision for them. Another agenda could be to stroke Birdwood's fallen ego to the point where they have 97% by round 3. Just a thought.

The "Impact Umpire" was blowing the whistle in the Lobethal v Gawler Central game today.
Another RAA 5 star rating. May be fast tracked past country and into central division.

Probably a good idea. Would avoid players from his past clubs having to see him in the flesh again when they thought they'd never have to.

I spose you may as well blow your own trumpet - no one else is going to. You can do the hard yards by starting with the U/13's first like everybody else.

Yes it is the usual practice for the under age league clubs to play a bit more of a fringe team to give guys a go early on, I beleive sturt had a fair number of there top players either resting or playing league.

Pretty much around the mark McGovern you would think the top 3 would be a class above like last year then a bit of a gap to the next tier of Gum and Meadows then a bigger gap to the next 3 then a massive gap to the bottom 2 here is my ladder at end of minor round
Echunga
Birdwood
Kersbrook
Meadows
Gumeracha
Maccy
Nairne
Kangarilla
Cambrai
Callington

but Kersbrook will play off in the GF against Echunga and win by 15 pts

Nothing to do with Owen. The clubs wanted it hidden but the sporting pulse system doesn't allow it. It was held back as long as it could be.

What's the big secret about clearances anyway? It's all part of the game, especially regional footy. It's a fair bet that Club Presidents who don't want them publicized wouldn't be fighting against it if they had a glut of clearances IN rather than OUT. You'd hope that committees would be being honest with potential players regarding where their club is at. And you can't blame potential players for doing homework. Clearance information should have been updated weeks ago.

See Lees has returned for Kersbrook. Did get told that Tim Weatherald and Ben Nelson will be playing there as well, unsure of how true that is though. But Kersbrook should be in for a good year.

My ladder at the end of the year.

Kersbrook
Birdwood
Echunga
Meadows
Gummeracha
Kangarilla
Nairne
Macclesfield
Sedan/Cambrai
Callington
