Okay heres my Monday morning rant. (BY THE WAY ITS ALL ABOUT MT LOFTY, SO DONT READ ON IF YOU ARENT INTERESTED)

Re Ben Gordon --> why would you want to rush back a player of his talent if he just injures himself again. Wait until he is 1000% fit before even attempting to play him. He was brought back too early last time and re-did his injury. I dont think you will see him for another couple of games, if not more, he hasnt trained as yet and i doubt he will this week.

Floriani in the best players every week --> yes he's a gun, that goes without saying, but in the best players every week??? Hmmm, dont know if i would agree with that one. From the weekend it was clear that Baldy, Burch, Peterson-Grey, Paechy and Trigger all deserved to be there, not saying Flo didnt but every week????

Chappy not playing A's --> tough call, great player, great guy, cant make training. Carves up in association games. I guess the call is would he be getting A grade games at other clubs?? I think 100% yes.

Penny going to Onkas --> His GF's brother is Klum i believe (i could be wrong). Tough call though, Dad involved at Lofty, GF involved at Onkas. I guess the GF won out!

Cant wait for the battle this weekend against Lofty and Ironbank!! only 5 more days to go!!!

Thoughts?

I went to have a look at Birdwood v Lofty game at Mt Lofty on Saturday and I'm sorry DA but the canteen there was ordinary to say the least - one person serving at lunch time, cold hot dogs and only fried eggs at the bbq left after qtr time of the a's with the actual canteen already closed!!

And to footy - I know Birdwood got a touch up but it was no where near the margin people were talking about on here. Comments?

I was talking to a couple of Lofty boys after the game and they said the Birdwood side had a very even young side and with a couple of quality recruits would be competetive next year. They even said that Birdwood played with a lot more heart and intensity than Bridgy, Hahndorf and Loby and they were surprised that they lost against those teams.

Anyone from Mt Barker or Bridgy tell us anymore about the drunk girls at Mt Ronnie trying to sing the club song and then abusing the Bridgy players over the PA after the game??? If this is true the club should be pretty embarrassed about the behaviour of their so called ladies.............

Also to the Lofty lads..managed to finally get out and see this great side and thought Chapman would have wanted to play alot better in the Bs if he wants a run in that A grade.... sits out to get easy kicks and left much of the harder work to his teammates...certainly didnt stand out!!

Take 2
TWE I do not keep your sort of hours, posting in the early hours I am sound asleep! 8)

(More Rant) Hahndorf v Ironbank summary

B grade started well and big Red Muff taking a lot of marks around the ground.
Donks was magnificent and controlled the centre, interesting to hear the coach’s comment at the presentation about Donks having a tilt back at A Grade which will only be great competition for spots. Army Tank after seeing off Capper in the first, moved to CHF in the last to get a kick and when he did get one showed why he plays full back. :?

The first half of the A grade was fairly even and I think the Hahndorf coach worked out the IB plan early and was able to nullify it. It was not helped with not having the 2nd Ruckman available, although only a youngster his big leap, laconic style and never say die attitude in the air and at ground level changes the game when he comes on. Alf Stevens played back for the first half with strapping on a knee.
The normal IB skills were not sharp enough in the first half, a bit of a hangover from last week. I thought Ryan Thyer and Ben Cleggett from Hahndorf played well. It started to rain at half time and as Mop up said got very dark. This is when Ironbank started to get on top their skills actually got better with a wet ball. They had control 5 - 6 goals up in the last when they rested some players and took the foot off the pedal. Interestingly young Sacha Oehrli (Hahndorf) played well kicking 3 goals to add to his 7 in the senior colts. =D> They played another from the senior colts, which is interesting.
Good to see Scott Wendelborn back to his best and another fantastic in and under effort from Howser. Graetz showed a lot of confidence and did not miss on goal. Scooter Walter played a fantastic first game back and was my best for the day. :D

Overall I thought Hahndorf played some good football but some skill errors under pressure let them down, and Ironbank were happy to get a win and now concentrate on next week. =D>

A head start to next week a bit of a preview I hope, I watched the C grade Ironbank v Mt Lofty game with Ironbank victorious 9.9 to 1.6. the comments from all around was the surprise at the standard on display. Talking to umpires Graham and Nobby they felt these teams would beat half the Country B’s and perhaps could be a future competition for those struggling clubs like Gums Cally, and even Milang to make a comeback.

Spiro and Beery were best for Ironbank and I thought TJ’s alcohol fuelled runs from defence were fantastic to watch. :drinkers: They did very well considering the state of some, after the coach Craig Thomas’s 40th the night before (his dark glasses were a necessity).

Yes Alaska, that whole quarter was an opporunity missed really. All though a little support would have been appreciated but as I turned around from "that kick" there were 17 players on the oval all pointing to full back! Same result from the coaching staff and the bench!

This has possibly cost them 3rd spot on the ladder, I would imagine that the coaching staff would not want this to become a habit, it could prove costly at the end of the season.

But yes a very big week this week for both the A and B grades, can't wait!

Chappy not playing A's -->

Penny going to Onkas -->

Not to bad on the synopsis.
1. BEN who hasn't been around the club at all maybe one training and the odd games. shit bloke.
2. Floriani is a quality player and not to be in the best every week. does get a hard ball and sets up run but otherwise pretty quite. delivery into forward line needs a fair bit of work probably just confidence . was never a goal scorer!!
3. Spot on about the excuse for giving more money. lets look i think he has got 3rd, 1st, 2nd and 4th or 3rd again probably only two of them really deserved but all Of vaule in regards to cash.
4.Best player ummmmm baldy NO. only dispute when the reason is that he sets up nearly all the goal. where i could name two player that gave more forward pressure instead of going for goal everytime he comes close to 50. Wood gave alot to the forward and Artis gave ross 4 of his goals and white 5 racer 2 or 3 and its hard to miss that if you watch the gave properly. even guys playing see it more than the people on the side lines.
5. CHAPPY Ones all the way but were are they going to put him with artis and baldy on the wing. i say up forward after his great display in the interleague in the first quarter.
6. Penny has been the only one to have the balls to do it and i think it has sparked talk from many of the locals to have to decide whether its worth the crap and hero complex that is starting to show in the club

jeez a devil at heart i dunno if thats a fair assesment on the matter regarding penny leaving to onkas and the locals having enough. i believe the locals that have had enough are those who are perhaps fringe a grade players or B graders that believe they can play A grade. they are only frustrated because they believe they should be playing at a higher level and probably would be if they were at another club however they arent good enough to be in an A grade premiership side

Yes big Sascha Oehrli is a positive Hahndorf can take out of their loss. He is a massive unit, extremely quick and a massive jump. Could easily go very far in footy if he wanted to. Should have played A's earlier in the season

about matty penny ive spoken to him a fair bit about his choice to leave he simply wanted a chance to play some A grade footy, which he didnt feel he was able to do at lofty, theres no bad feelings in either direction there. good to see he kicked a couple bobbys in his 1st game for onkas, and hopefully got through injury free. ontop of klunnys sis hes best mates with n.smart.

J. Flo is a deadset gun, maybe not best each wk but one of the cleanest players in the comp.

by the way anyone who gets into DA about his commitment to lofty knows F all about the club so you prob shouldnt write about it anymore.

anyone from TV out there, deke smith seems to be in the best a fair bit, is he looking good for a B&F?

GTS... fair point you make....just thought the players in the A grade on Sat all worked much harder to get into positions and get the ball and for Chapman to push one of these blokes out of the side he would have to lift his work rate.... Just an opinion thats all

they look like a tight unit but it is completely different atmosphere there now, just from what i see. alot of the guys from town dont bother to stick around, like last year were the club was packed after each game. some of the guys are developing a god complex and on field guys aren't getting used enough like handball to space or to a free player. so the guys are just sick of the crap and small thing that some of these guys are doing, talking crap about people that are playing well or aren't but its getting quite dishearting seeing it happen... sorry if that doesn't help but its just a view of some of the guys in the a grade. its really not that hard to see ....

Agreed GTS, Chappy was following instructions and playing wide, I wish a few others would follow all instructions. While he didn't dominate he still had a positive impact on the game. Even though he didn't train, he did 2 weeks ago when the rest of us were relaxing. Still, if I complain too much....
