Bookie great to see you getting a shot down town. We will miss your presence in the B Grade. Also good to see Luke Shearer might be back in Devils colours in the C Grade. I remember him kicking about 12 against Nairne back a few years

Uraidla by 8 goals which means 4 losses in a row for the woods and also that they are will be keeping Barker out of the five by % only as...
Barker will beat Bridgey, who won there last year and will be confident by that won't translate to a win
Onkas will smash Lobey and get back into form (they've been good enough to win whilst playing shite in past weeks)
Ironbank in a now regulation win for the Banker boys, they are clearly enjoying this end of the ladder.
Mount Lofty by 35 goals, only joking, i mean 45 goals. They will look ominous with two of their big three forward guns back.

Uri's by 8 for me too
Barker by 11 to be percentage outta the 5 but to be there soon...
Onkas over Loby by 11 goals
Ironbank by plenty...17 goals
Devs by 38 goals.

I have heard that the HFL have changed their mind on the decision they made about Birdwood having to wear a clash jumper for their home game against Mt. Lofty.

Can anyone confirm?

If it's true, for once common sense has prevailed at the HFL head office.

[quote="Dashin"]Referring back to earlier posts on the umpires, how much do they get a game? I agree that we should crank up the payments and there's no doubt it would attract umpires. Offer $150-200 per A-grade game and I reckon we might even get a few young blokes with some idea about the current rules running around out there. I'd umpire for that sort of coin once i finish playing. Take the money out of the gate takings....just get some more umps!

Fair Call. $200 a game and a few more might think about doing it. I too would umpire for $100 an hour! And Neville Clarke, Trevor Edwards, Ian Plummer, Trevor MacDonald and Pat Lundie aren't getting any younger.

Uri's will grind Blackwood out but by 7 goals 5, not the 8 goals others have predicted. At least their players will be well rested after the Association game!
Barkeroos will beat Bridgey by 5-6 goals. Closer than everyone thinks as Bridgey play that typical Shanty type of footy.
Onkas will pulverise Loby by 13-14 goals. Too good, Loby on the downturn.
Bankers easily over the Dorfers. Too much run and class.
Lofty by a thoooouuuusand goals over Birdwood. Birdwood will be lucky to trouble the main part of the scoreboard I hate to say it. Expect a happy afternoon on the balcony.

Interesting talk about the Lofty forward line. I would say with the continual injuries that a few boys may re-do injuries later in the season and be pushing to get back in full tip-top shape for the finals. How many times does a player not get right or find form by the end of a season if he has to sit out 4 or more weeks?
But any club would like the additions of Wait, Gordon and Fleet up front. Those 3 with Mehta, White and others sharking the packs is a potent forward set up.

Who else got relegated if Wait and Pistols are back in? O'Gorman is still playing I believe.

If that's true it's a disgrace.

If you kick 4 and get 2nd best for the association team, you play A grade the following week regardless of training etc.

You can see the the devils advocate comes from the era when lofty got belted by 40 goals a game.
"If you kick 4 and get 2nd best for the association team, you play A grade the following week regardless of training etc."

If you dont train you dont play A grade. Its that simple. Its a team game not about individuals.

You stick to standing on the balcony yelling stuff out at blokes from 50 metres away.

I would tend to agree with you there rapper. I don't know alot about what goes on with selections. But lofty did win a flag and they do have good players running around. Regardless whether you play association or not, if you don't train you don't play.

How has he been going before that for the Devs??

I believe he didn't play in the A grade the week before, so who do you drop for him? Tough call DA.
How good is footy!

Chappy has a good reason for not training - work commitments. Why should that preclude him from playing if he's good enough (which he clearly is)? He trains when he can and he's got heart.

I really resent that last comment too. I trained and tried as hard if not harder than anyone. I was ALWAYS there training, doing extra running, weights etc. INJURY was the reaon I was on the balcony.

If I could have been out there, I would have.

So don't comment about things you know nothing about you fukcwit.

No this is going to upset 80% of this forum... But im sure there are many here who would love to hear about the other teams in the competition... It's starting to sound like a Mt. Lofty AGM meeting!

Great point M80.

I've said plenty of times, the more the merrier. I've tried to get mates from other clubs involved, but to little avail.

The funny thing is that, even those participating from other clubs would rather try to keep their allegiance secret and comment on Mt Loftys fortunes or misfortunes at the time.

They are the same posters who sledge the likes of me for posting on Mt Lofty too much. FFS I'm from Mt Lofty. It's no secret. So obviously, I'm going to talk about Mt Lofty.

I appreciate hearing about other clubs, and appreciate a bit of banter such as the growing prescence from the Ironbank lads.

thanks DA.

its no secret i follow hahndorf and yes we are having some lean years, something that was un heard of in my playing days with the club. but i still follow the club and its fortunes even from over here in canberra. admittedly dont get much goss to pass on and discuss but hopefully some people will start posting match reports from the club. what amazes me that there appears to be NO members from mt.barker, onkas, uraidla and lobethal.

for those who do post, keep up the good work and enjoy the footy today.
for what its worth my picks are, uraidla by say 6 goals in a good tussle against the woodsman.
mt.barker by 10 goals and starting to become the smokey of the group.
onkas by 8 goals over a lack lustre lobethal.
ironbank by 9 goals over my team.(thank god for memories :D )
mt.lofty by absolute plenty over birdwood

Devils by about 150 points over Birdwood. The Roosters did manage 9 goals though. Interesting to see former Devil Matt Penny amonst the goals on his debut for Onkas....
