If we are 0-9 after round 9 then I would say the round 10 clash will not proceed. We aren't going to take this lying down and if it causes a stir then so be it.

But if Bostons win the next four on the trot, they'll put potential finals ahead of player safety?

MRFC v MPFC it will be as quiet as a mouse!
With a couple out and the rest aware that all eyes are upon them
A great opportunity for Rangers to snatch this one.

Neither do I...

But my (obvious) point, is that if BFC were considering boycotting the match, then surely they would do so because they were concerned for their players safety, and their ladder position, and potential for finals football, would not (and certainly should not) come into the thought process.

But I can't see myself tipping them over the next month anyway, so it's probably a moot point.

Player safety is an interesting concept MP. Under the OHS Act, every employer has a duty of care to provide a safe working environment. Breaches of this duty of care are regularly proescuted throught the courts, huge fines get dished out all the time. To what extent the club is an employer and the player is an employee might be the grey area. I would expect if the club is paying the player it would be hard to argue that an employer/employee relationship did not exist. Therefore if a club knowingly puts its players in an environment where their safety is compromised are they exposing themselves?? One for the lawyers.....

The thing the PLFL should look at is what is their duty of care to provide a safe working (playing) environment...to which I think they are failing through their actions at the tribunal this week and their reluctance to dish out penalties that discourage this sort of bullshit.

Looking through some old papers this front page caught my eye from 1961..... Its a bit small but under Incidents this is what it states....

One Wayback rover was soundly kicked when he raised the fire of a Tasman ruckman and a Wayback ruckman was dropped twice.
Ron (Blue) Dunne of Tasmans was reported for striking. He appeared before the commisioners on Sunday Morning when he was suspeneded for the first 6 matches of the 1962 season

Imagine facing the commsioners on a Sunday morning after winning a GF by 1 point !!!!

Who are they playing steiger? Be sure to keep an eye on the interchanges, may get a repeat of the West Coast Hawks game

I've been keeping a bit of a close eye on some of the scores and BP's in the Mid West, I see Clint Winter from CE has been getting in the best nearly every week and also played a handy role in the assoc game against FW. Let me know how he goes and what you think, espec with Mortlock coming up!

Interesting letter in the PL Times today apparently it was also discussed on Adelaide radio yesterday.
Cant wait to see the Mortlock Shield team.
Apparently one club was instructed not to play a guy who was coming back
from injury because the coach wanted him available and fresh for Mortlock WTF?
PL coach was expressing his opinion that another unnamed player will never play Mortlock,
whilst down at KI recently. Message to Coach check whose standing behind you!
