Mallee Match Preview –5/5/2007

BDT v Murrayville

BDT rebounded strongly last week to defeat Lameroo at Coonalpyn. Lachlan Richardson & Luke Remfry are high possession players in the midfield & Josh Richardson is dangerous all over the ground. Jarvis Webb has made an impact in ruck & Ashley Masters has been amongst the best playing across half back. Young players Jarren Crabb & Jack Zacker are also having a big impact this year.
Murrayville have two good ruckmen in James Dixon & Will Dalwood, although Dixon probably won’t play this week. Clayton Sporn is a strong mark at full forward with Shannon Wyatt dangerous in a pocket. Damien Fenoughty, Dallas Willersdorf & Alistair Heintze give their forwards plenty of opportunities, driving the ball forward from the midfield.
Extremely hard to pick, but Murrayville may just sneak in for a win.

Lameroo v Pinnaroo

Lameroo losing last week will give Pinnaroo more hope of winning this match. Shaun Walker has been in outstanding touch with Rodney Maynard showing no sign of slowing down. Matt Ridgway & Dan Wohling are strong players who kick long to forwards Chris Philbey & Craig Zerk. Ben Venning is settling in well, giving Kym Benham much needed support in ruck.
Pinnaroo are traveling well and have made their best start to the year for a long time. Sunyl Vogt is again in Mail Medal form, & Brad Schroeder is a big possession winner on a wing. Mark Gum is dangerous in the forward half, with Wade Nickolls, Chad Nickolls & Matt Thiel providing plenty of height all over the ground.
Lameroo should hit back after last weeks loss to record a win.

Karoonda v Peake

Karoonda come off two long trips to Lameroo & Murrayville with both resulting in big losses. Justin Maloney never gives in & Simon Martin works hard in the midfield. Eli Koch is in career best form at centre half back & youngsters Andrew Smithson & Gavin Wohlfeil have been in good touch. Karoonda need Luke Hocking back to provide a target up forward as kicking goals has been a problem.
Peake are building form each game. Jamie Downs returned last week to support Toby Downs in the forward line. Tim Aloisi is good in the midfield & Mark Boothey is a strong contributor. Gareth Diprose is a quality player & Shaun Holland is another recruit showing plenty of promise.
Karoonda can reverse the trend of the past two weeks & win at home.

good work dogwatcher... your on top of it all...I didn't know they brought out the preview so quickly, I would have thought they may go for a review of the round first but i guess it is all in that one...

just a question... who did border downs play the unregistered player against?
I just couldn't tell by looking at the ladder, thats all...
do the opposition get the points or do the offending team just loose points?

I don't get the match reviews - they're done by different writers.
The match previews are done for the newspaper - so they'd need to be in a couple of days early for printing schedules.

As for the other stuff, I've got no idea, sorry mate.

Might have been against Peake in first round - as they won that game, then lost last week.

They seem to have lost the points, but Peake hasn't been awarded them. You'd think the points have to go somewhere wouldn't you?

there is a fair chance that the player in question could have been Noonan as he played the game against Pinnaroo I believe...

a bit rough if they lost the game and got another two points taken from them as well... but I guess that would make sense...
