Will the ledgendary mick 'the prick' regan coach his beloved saints again? If he doesnt the association may as well fold as there will be no interest. Saints without both Regans involved will struggle, catcher and pitcher over the hill now and with shannon not playing they will finish bottom. Indians have no depth and will be not improve with Butch Stoetzer involved.
If coyotees could play as well as they mouthed off they would be playing in the majors. the over-rated wilkinson has to do something this year, new coach is not up to it. Shields take it very seriously but they struggle when heat is applied.

Time for baseball to have a good hard look at itself, crisis meeting will be interesting next week. see-ya there

You have to make 12 in the Beep test to qaulify for baseball......and have a pulse rate of under 40....... sadly us that can only make 6 in the beep test are only allowed to eat steak sandwiches and drink longnecks and hurl abuse ....

Now panther.... you made a comment last year about baseball..... being a man of your word.... It may be time to repeat it..... WCP must have knicked Blueys crystal ball..... can you please post it again?
Zoo Poo is going around again.... hes hard to get past at first base... He doesnt mind coming across the runners line and taking out the batter!
Nugget has had a big pre-season and actually laped Boz in the 2 km run at training the other night.... it is also said that he broke 10 secs for the final 100m...

who are you?
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh Wilkinson? Na. You can spell!!!!!
Rushy? Na to clever!!!!!!!!!!
Enough bs I have awoken from winter hibernation with good news!!!!! Baseball Lives.......Just.
It would seam as though no one is capible of fielding a side at present and hence the season has been "Shortened" by 1 round and the season will now commence in November. Saints have regained the services of Mick "the prick" however the fate of the other regan remains in doubt at present. Shannon will play (sorry Longreach) however will probably still finish last. Indians Looking the strongest at present with my spy's telling me plenty of numbers at training tonight and Marvellous Mal all fired up after a season of semi retirement. Coyotes Looking weaker however still a force and rumour has it that Shields have been struggling for numbers at this point. Would expect those numbers to pick up soon tho. Haje may be able to shed more light on that. All in all baseball has real problems which is partly to do with game times and partly to do with, as Haje put it, the sheep stations some place on games. Friday night A grade games currently finish at 11.00 pm which is way past my bed time and not going to draw crowds or attract players. The Sundays rule out many cricketers as that is usally the day they recover from post cricket hangover syndrom. Mondays meeting was probably as positive a meeting as I have ever been to as all were concered as to the state of the competion, not their own clubs interests. Hopefully this will continue and the Haje's sheep station point gets addressed. Anyone out there interested in a game contact a club......any club............PLEASE ANY BLOODY CLUB!!!!!

Haje wrote:Interesting news bystander, I did not attend any baseball meeting last night but I wouldn't be surprised if season has been postponed. Rumour has it that Saints could fold which if did happen would leave three teams and be hardly worth it.

The lincoln teams have really struggled for numbers of recent times, especially with very few coming through the junior ranks. You need these juniors as without them, the same players are left to play year in year out and the game and atmosphere can become a bit stale. There are also quite a few people involved who can get carried away with the importance of the game. At times you would think we are playing for sheep stations and some of the things said on the sidelines can be pretty ordinary, especially at grand final time when people who don't often watch the game come out for a look. That doesn't usually attract them back. I don't know what can be done to improve the prospect of the sport without new people becoming involved.

Regarding baseball at Ravendale, may as well spend the money on something else unless things change very quickly. We have training tonight and i'll update when I know more.

That is about as true and accurate as it gets Haje. Saints training tonight consisted of myself, Simon Smith, Steve Kerr, Jim Stockham and 4 of last years juniors who are now to old for Under 16's. Gav and Shane were there but didn't train. I asked our committee to meet last week to discuss the problems we are having and the responce was that we would be OK. I'm still less than convinced however, even less so after tonight. Have even spoken to Tom about a possible change in club, and that would make Christmas in the Regan household very interesting indeed!!!!

Well to report on our numbers at baseball training, we had about 16 at training last night with a couple of new players which is good news. Therefore, it looks as though we should be able to fill two sides every week. Good to hear that Saints should be able to survive Haloman. Look forward to the start of the season in three weeks.

I think its a good idea to cut the season back by a full round. If your in fourth spot at the end of 12 games, you don't deserve to play finals, it shouldn't take 15 games to work out who will finish fourth in a four team comp.

Are you affiliated with anything that isn't the best Dickie? Premiership every six months for you I reckon, TFC (not since 91), TCC (one since the 50's), Coyotes (not sure!!), hell you'd have medallions everywhere.......
