Would have been a while since Tailem haven`t kicked a goal in a game.

would be a very long time since any team has gone goaless JW. Maybe the last team would have been the mighty Redlegs. Jervois werent far off today only kicking 3 goals aswell. Looks like a blockbuster this week Jervois V Tailem.

Could not agree more Killa...Gone are the good old days when a Bluds vs Tailem game was match of the day for obvious reasons.

The Bloods ( I think we can go back to calling them that safely now) were not real good on Sat. Didn't appear interested, & seem to not be enjoying either playing with each other or their coach

Hey Everyone iv been away on holidays for a while ago, and want to catch back up to date on the RMFL-
i have a bit of fun for everyone here wanting to have a go at it--

When i was away on holiday bored with the wife going across the border, i was trying to think of the best A grade and B grade(unlucky not to be playing A grade) players and postions-

I got a few a grade ones but only a couple B grade ones-

A GRADE
Forwards- Luke Harrowfield- Plays as a Big Forward but is only a small build, Clive Waterhouse- Dont need too say much,
Midfield- Adam Eckerman- First season back in RMFL very skillful hard working footballer, Henry Hodge- doesnt get talked about asmuch as Girdham and Kennys but with Kennys out it is time for Hodge to shine.
Backman- Luke Button- Best south australian country backman very smart backman, Ben Quast- Very realiable and consistant backman for imperials.

B GRADE
Forwards- ??
Midfield- Aron Hancock, Heart of Imp B grade team.
Backman-???

IM LOOKING TO FEEL THESE GAPS 2 FORWARDS AND 2 DEFENDERS AND 1 MIDFIELD. then i have my personal favourite/best A grade 6 and B grade 6.

Forwards
Girardi, Waterhouse, Martin, Dougall, Hunter, Benbow

Mids
L. Oneil, Hall, Girdam, Eckermann, Quinn, Brunoli, Waite

Backs
Vickers, Button, Kay, Warnest, Cunneen, Eyre

Rucks
Gabb, Rander

As for Reserves players, I dont think you can go past Evan Smith  God knows why he's not playing A's?? Hopefully his decision, because he's been through the hard times at the Bears.

Forwards - Girardi, Waterhouse and Harrowfield would be the best forwards - just looking at the goal kicking they are the top three

Midfielders - Wait would have to be the best Midfielder in the competition, and Girdham wouldn't be far behind. Last year's Mail medalist and footballer of the year.

Backmen - Button would have to be one of the best footballers going around in the RMFL and is the best backman by a fair way. Quast and Eyre both made the Southern Districts side last year as backmen so would have to be considered.

Steve Braun? Button is the best no doubt but who has a tougher job week in week out than the GOOD Braun? ;)

Had 9 kicked on him last week, & seven round 1, so only seen him twice & both times beaten convincingly. Cant be in on form IMO

Definatly Evan's decision. Wanted to play a year with his brother-in-law and a few mates. Happy running around in the 2's.

i think braun definetely has the ability to be in team. Who in the bluds backline doesnt have nine or seven kicked on them. And he takes the best fwd every week. maybe anyone else might get fifteen kicked on them. Maybe steve should look at goin to a better team so he can get selected in rep. sides.

stuff that! we would take him at kaniva though. Have seen him play association and can definately mix it with the best. just saying that not many blokes are gonna get rep. games when there team gets pumped every week. If tailem wins this week will it be the first time anyone can remember a team going from not kicking a goal to winning next week. So much for points system in that comp.

Curious why you would nominate the points system as not working mail man. Salary cap produced a few beltings and two tiered comps from year to year. Much more transparent than salary cap and it's up to committees to set a football budget which suits the club. Everything goes in cycles, Meningie this year is a testament to that.

I think its more to the point that the clubs based in towns with bigger populations - Imps/Ramblers/Mannum have dominated the last few years, whilst the smaller towns - Tailem, Jervois and Mypo have struggled a little (Mypo made a GF in first year of points but struggled since). I guess ultimatelythese clubs have scope for improvement though if they can use their points to advantage like Meningie have this year.

Thanks for your interest rough. Not blaming points system just saying it hasnt fixed the problem .The teams still willing to spend there money will be the ones who prosper. all the top teams prob. except ramblers are spending the money and seeing the benefits. And with the teams that live in the bigger towns it is eaier to generate money. sponsorship etc. as GWW pointed out. so what do we do let jervois and mypo etc and pretend the points system has worked.Or do we look at a points and salary together?.. i definately didnt c to many big names in those jervois outs either.
