Who would've thought that the 3 teams who have dominated the last 2 seasons, Creeks, Willunga and Yank would ALL LOSE to teams that were cellar dwellers last season ?
At this stage, have never known the results to be so unpredictable.
Great for the comp.
Creeks looked back on track in the 1st term against Pongy in the night game at the Creek leading 5 goals to 2 but from then on the lights went out for the Creek and Myponga/Sellicks dominated from there on to take the win 15 - 9 to Creeks 10 -9. Creeks are in serious trouble and would be a big surprise if they even make the 5 the way they are travelling.

Along time since both senior teams have beaten the Creek over there. All games except the A grade were decided by less than a couple of goals. Great to play under lights, great crowd and well hosted by the hawks. Plenty of Pongy people back in the club after the match and the favour is always returned by the Creek when they travel across.

Had a go at the central umpire for not giving his son a free kick I believe.

That's correct. Was more than a free kick. Was a late, high, forceful hit to the back of the head. Goal umpires shouldn't make comment but a majority of parents would have done exactly the same thing. Field umpire then went in to panic mode and paid s free to Vh and sent the umpire off. Worked out ok in the end. Field umpire apologised to our captain for not calling something. Perhaps the paid umpire should have just made the correct call at the time

Anybody seen or know of the association squad for this year? Game is less than a month away, so we might find a few unavailable players if it is left too late. Perhaps it has been sent out to clubs?

Sure is. Victor sitting in 6th spot on the ladder after round 4, then lose to the 7th side the following week and end up sitting 5th!

A poor effort from what i believe was the Yank B grade playing coach....One of Mclarens young 18 year olds went to shepherd one of his players when the yank bloke swung a fist and punched him in the face knocking his two front teeth out!

Haha trial by forum... I was 10 metres from the 'incident' and it certainly wasnt a behind the play deliberate hit.. The Yank player was being held by the guernsey as he was trying to run after the ball so he swung his arm back to knock his arm off, hit his shoulder and slid up to what looked like his ear. This type of 'incident' happens hundreds of times in a game and there was no malice in it. I had a tooth loosened in similar fashion some years ago. Just a part of footy. Moral of the story- wear a mouthguard. It is a contact sport after all... Unfortunate, but not deliberate or dirty...

Just to clear up a few "facts" on this incident:

1. The player had half of one tooth knocked off (the bottom half, not from the root), not the two front teeth PK12.

2. Tiger83, the player was wearing a mouthguard, but still managed to get half a tooth knocked out.

3. He was shepherding the Yank player with his back to him, not holding onto his guernsey as you stated.

For a player to get a tooth or teeth dislodged whilst wearing a mouthguard there has to be considerable force with a clenched fist in my opinion.
Whether this was deliberate or not from the Yank player in question only he will be able to answer.

Anyway, it has been a cracking start to the season with more upsets than expected results each week it seems, with Encounter Bay the stand out premiership favourites at this early stage.

Tips: All home sides to win by 3-4 goals in tough battles except the Bays easily by 60+

Unbelievable turnabout from last few seasons.

Unimagineable that Yank, Will and Creeks who have dominated the last 2 seasons would ALL lose concecutive games to teams that finished near the bottom of the ladder in recent years.

Has there EVER been a case where Back to Back premiers have then finished wooden spooners?

Too early to call BUT unless the Creeks get a few players back off their long injury list, it's a distinct possibility.

Whats are peoples views as to the reasons behind the rapid turnaround in clubs fortunes / results in such a short period of time?
Is the points system starting to show its true worth ?
