WHAT DID WE FIND OUT OF THIS ROUND

CENTRAL

j.floreani making his mark at mt.lofty, and pistola kicking 6 (is this the son of jeff pistola at the courier?)
uraidla just goes on their merry way
mt. barker starting to find some form or b/wood o/rated?
j.bentley 10 goals for bridgey
onkas just over the maggies, a bit of a surprise thought it would be a lot more

COUNTRY

b/wood v nairne, don't know much on these 2 sides but scores indicate a good game. can anyone report?
t/valley must have been on song or echunga's bubble burst?
meadows as expected huge win , hunter 13 goals over the hapless gums. these are nothing games IMO
callington does make a different when their players are not working in the mines, good win. where to now for maccy?
kersbrook dispose of probably one of their better competition easily. kersbrook all the way it seems!!

Bridgewater's recruits were pretty ordinary in the loss to Ironbank, was at the game and besides ten minutes of o.k football in the second quarter, they just didn't look like ever presenting a challenge. The young talent of Ironbank mixed in with some exciting recruits makes for a pretty strong outfit. This week's clash against Uraidla is shaping up as a measuring stick and will show how far this team has come!

C.Naughton- 11 goals from two wet games. Says something about the talent of this bloke! I'd say he'd be a shoe in for Hills representative selection!

Might need to bring more player$ from Tailem Bend to mix it with the best. Me thinks Uraidla all the way!

Blackwood vs Nairne

Contoversy: Count taken in last quarter..

Ram player (Foster I think) left field on stretcher in 2nd q concussed.. did not go thru interchange gate..nb down to 17 men last q..foster comes back on..count taken..Foster told to leave ground by umps..Bwood kick goal and win!!!

I thought that once a player was on astrecher he could leave the ground wherever..intechange gate at bwood is some 100 metres from clubrooms where players have to go to get treatment

interesting..
another one for the big O and his mates...

The interchange gate at Maccy is worse; on the opposite side of the oval to the roomsI Always very inconvenient. But I think that if a player leaves the ground on a stretcher, regardless of where he leaves, he can't come back on the field for the remainder of the game. I'm not sure about that tho. Who monitors that sort of thing nowadays? Timekeeper, team manager? Never seen an interchange steward in Country Div.
Older, wiser and been there. But still love that grassroots country footy.

Isnt the rule if you dont come off through the gate, you cant come back on?
Go off by a stretcher and its 20mins (or a quarter) before you can come back on?

- wouldnt be the first time if i am wrong...

Ironbank were in the same predicament last year with their recruits, not to mention names but to me it is blatantly obvious where the problem is! have a look at the players who have left the ironbank ranks and are now forming part of the meadows ranks, says it all really!

If the player has to go off on the stretcher they are required to leave the ground at the nearest part of the ground. This means anywhere on the oval. The 20 minutes has to be taken before the player is allowed back on the ground through the interchange or at a quarter time break after the 20 mins of playing time. I think we will see an overturned result here, going by all the comments.

Wasn't at the game but this what i hear from people who were. J.foster left ground on a stretcher after being knocked out. (nothing nasty just one of those things) He didn't go thru interchange gates because when you leave the ground on a stretcher, in the unlikely event of the player returning, he can return to the field as long as he goes back on thru the gates. With no players left on the bench & J Foster significantly recovered he returned to the game. This is where it all went pear shaped.
Nairne were leading by about 8 points,in the last qtr, and blackwood noticed that nairne didn't have the right no's on the bench (2 players had already showered & changed because of injury & weren't going back on) called a count. It was then deemed by the umpires that J Foster couldn't come back to the field because he didn't leave thru the gate, which is flat out WRONG. Blackwood were given a free kick and a fifty metre which is the correct punishment for fielding too many players,IF THE RULING WAS RIGHT! they scored a goal.
Nairne played with 17 fit & 1 injured and lost the game. What should have happened was The blackwood captain should have been reported for time wasting ( correct if the count proved to be right on Nairne's part) AND Nairne should have had a free kick & 50 metre penalty (and played with 18 fit players) and what happened next we will never know. Very damaging to any hopes of Nairne playing finals, this was a must win to keep in touch with the Five.

So you were the guy on the gate at Uraidla asking every player if he is one of the (3) Tailem guys? :p

The results dont really tell the story of the game though, Uraidla were only up by 3 goals at 3/4 time, could of easily been a different story, im sure they will be worried next time they line up against us at Thunder Park :)

Fair effort by Pistols for the devils, will he keep playing A's?

Yeah what was the go at the Uri gates yesterday.

I have been going there for many a year now and old Bangkok Bill asked me if I was from Tailem Bend.

Great day at Thunder Park today thou for the C Grade clashes. Ironbank and Mt Lofty winner !!

Darren Gepp's hit on Leith Thornton will come under scrutiny. By AFL standards would get 12 matches but as he is old and clumsy a yellow card was appropriate.

Lot of skills on display apparently, just did not get to see them.
A 3's on winner is better than a 20/1 loser !!
