Great stuff mate. Good to see Paechy retain his spot, hopefully he will shove it up those who don't rate him. Good luck also to Brett Pistola in his first match.

Who is Sinkers, is he another import

Well it's late on a Friday night again, time for all aspiring footballers to be in bed, make sure you've had a good bowl of spag. bog. and to leave yourself alone, save the energy for tomorrow. As for the weeks character assasination of our good president, please leave the good man alone, nobody's perfect in this world, not one of us, have a good look at the man and his dedication to hills football, you could pay some one $100k and they wouldn't have 1/2 the passion and belief of this man, we don't know how lucky we are. Good to see the "lofty" boys firing up, as much as I dislike them i respect them and good luck for the season, we need them to be strong, but not to strong!!, for the sake of a good competition, wasn't the same when they were down fo so long. (OK so its late and i'm half drunk)
Tips for this week...
Blackwood - easy
Onka's - 5 goals
Cabbage - hate to say it but in by 7 points in a defining game for the thunderers..........nah stuff it IB by a goal.
Lofty - 10 goals
Birdwood - yes go the roosters by 4 points, they deserve a win, it'll keep the comp alive and all those knockers off their backs, we know how hard it is to come into Div 1 !...oops sorry Central, showing my age!!

Look forward to the next weeks opinions - cheers lads and go thunderers

But never the less Ironbank last thursday had 65+ on the track so even those who trained missed out on a game. Crazy! bit hard to find space on the oval wit that amount of numers at training too

i thought you could only fit 36 on that oval at any one time! "wit those numers at training." Because it's so HUGE that oval of yours

Hey LVIS you obviously can't count....
36 players per side
2 central umpires
2 boundary umpires
2 goal umpires
3 trainers per side(6)
2 water boys per side (4
...that makes a minimum of 52 during a normal game on a little 'ol postage stamp

mind you when we train now we can only use 6 training cones(they resemble the opposing teams IQ) but we do manage.
They call it he postage stamp because when the opposition come we give them a good lickin'!!....pity we didn't have mixed teams!!!

Uraidla 17-9
Ironbank 10-14

Uraidla too classy, winning rucks and a majority of the contested ball. In the first half they never wasted an opportunity with good run from the centre bounce 12-3 to 5-9 at the main break. Ironbank missing shots on goal under pressure plus they change the ruckman when the ball is in the oppositions forward line, another easy goal!!! Uraidla just had too much marking power around the ground and then the on ballers running past for plenty of forward movement. After 1/2 time it was pretty even but the damage had been done in the first 10 minutes of the first quarter, 5-1 to 1-5, after that it was reasonably close.
Summary: Too big, too classy and a very good team game by uraidla. IB stuggled all day but never gave up, got to within 3 goals in the third but just not enough fire power all around the ground.
There's always next week......
Any more results coming in??

If anyone's into the Country Div., just home from watching Cally beat Maccy by 11pts. 16-10 to 14-11. Great game of footy, worth every cent. Both sides were a credit to their clubs and hard at the ball all day.
Older, wiser and been there. But still love that grassroots country footy.

Can tell you a bit Tex - a combination of being there Sat and some front bar goss for what it's worth. Apparently nearly 2/3 of Cally's A Grade this year work at the mines or in Adelaide. Hardly any locals there anymore. Their availability for footy depends on their roster - 2 wks on and 2 off. And the Troy Bonds etc only want to play when the side's good, thereby contributing to the other 1/3 of the problem. Training numbers follow the rosters also it seems. Spirit was reportedly high after the Nairne game (presume you're a Nairne lad Tex), but has plummetted since. The strange thing about being there Sat was that Cally were not that bad. They were still chasing at the final siren and it seemed incredible that they hadn't scored all day. The big bonus for Echunga though, would have to be Peter Kleeman. I saw this lad play for Milang a few years back and he was at best a potential talent requiring much development. Goes to show how underestimated a player can be when constantly surrounded by mediocre company. Well done to whoever coaxed him to the Demons. A real pleasure to watch.
This guy will be a GUN in the finals!

so the roster had the cally boys off today crumber. good win. now, cue joe scuderi on what went wrong with (top 4) maccy

Kersbrook belted Kangarilla by 9 goals without Roger James.
Brad Pearce kicked a lazy 9 as an onballer whilst Paul James tore them apart.

Barkeroos over Woods in last kick of the day. Woods were up by nearly 7 goals just before 3/4 time. All runners stopped for the woodmen and Mounts ran all over them. This included a woody being sent from the ground in the last quarter also. Not sure why or who.Leaves the mind wondering about the woodsmen?
