Captain Limb.
Well done, Named BEST in the Magoos' on Sat. in a losing side albeit.
Any chance of the Creeks troubling Strath in return bout if yous' get the chance?

I know this is the classic footy cliche but I think we'll worry about trying to knock over McLaren this Sunday before I speculate on how we might go if and when we play Strath again.

i reckon we will see some muscles flexed this week. I think that the A, B and Junior teams coming from the elimination final will struggle to make an impact and the top sides in all these grades mentioned will send a loud and clear message that they are on top for a reason. Senior Colts is still the big unknown. Looking forward to willunga and creeks at Goolwa.

Just returned from the long road trip to Creek for the junior / senior colt medal count. A big thanks to league officials for putting the Saints table right at the very back. Seems to be a regular spot for us but I am sure that it was not deliberately done  Night was ok, still way too many descrepencies, the GSFL players asscoiation will now have to cover all grades. I cant beleive that twice we kept teams scoreless and the opposition had players in the votes  ! Well done to Gianni Petrucci (not sure on the spelling) he won coach of the year and spoke very well.

Junior Colts: Winner Haydon Sewell (VH) 27 votes with Riley Mattner (LC) 25 votes R/U. Others to poll well were Zach Cameron (McL), Michael Ballas (McL) and Billy Hogben (Y)

Leading goal kicker was Riley Mattner (LC) on 47. Big mention to Gemma Wilton from The Saints who came 4th on 27 goals.

Senior Colts: Winner Simon Pistilli (McL) 30 votes. I cant remember the runner up but Campbell (Sa) who polled in 7 of the 8 games he played, Cousins (LC) and Lindsay (EB) all polled well.

Leading goal kicker as far as we know was Chris Kohnke?? (McL). This was done poorly. No mention of how many he kicked and no table of other goal kickers so we are left to presume that he had the most.

WELL DONE TO ALL AWARD WINNERS!!!!

One last thing. How can the Saints senior colts win 38-9 to 0-0 against Yank and not receive all 3 votes?

And very well done and Congratulations to Senior Colts Simon Pistilli and Chris Kohnke !!!!! \:D/

I actually text Gianni last night and asked him if he could please let me know the winners etc but he was obviously too busy celebrating !!

Congrats to all winners last night =D> =D>

What a joke last night was over all, so many issues that just cant be accepted when we are talking about a league medal. I want to know how ump's pick the vote's, as LF stated above Saints snr colts win 237 to no score yet only manage to get the 2 and 3 votes, an guy playing on the wing kicks 6 straight, sets up more than 5 goals and does not get 1 vote! Then Kenny plays 7 games and gets 6 best on grounds and one 2 best, he recived 2 votes in the last game of the season when he played under a half and stated last night everytime he went close to the ball the ump would comment on him and he was the only player being called by his name so the ump clearly just knew who he was and gave him votes for that! Ken did say if he had won the medal he would have given it to a tree half way between Creek and Goolwa because he knows he did not deserve some of the votes he got.
Cousins from Creek I feel sorry for you mate, bothh times we have played Creek you have been a stand out and have been best on by everyones account but the ump's, he never polled a vote against us and should have had 3 both times.
Then the leading goal kicker for the Snr colts they could not tell us how many goals he had kicked or who was runner up, did they just take a guess and give it to someone they like?

One last thing by the time the saints table were given their meal they had to look at the breakfast menu, and eat while the snr colts count finished up!

LF and TW i can definately see where you are coming from. Mail Medals, are often very debatable because who knows what the umpires see. I know there were a few games where i thought one of our players was clearly best player and they didnt feature, however we cannot take anything away from that young lad from McLaren Pistilli, he is a very good footballer.

Umpires do strange things LF. Remember Dave Whitbourne won an A grade mail medal and his side hardly kicked a goal all year, if any. Micky Conlan was robbed that year!

After talking to a few blokes from Strath FC it sounds like the report was for abusing an umpire rather than "man-handling" him as was suggested by someone on this forum earlier in the week.

Correct limb, he is in trouble because he actually entered the Umpires change room after the game to give them a royal mouth full.

Thanks for filling us in kappars.. I guess tonight the Strath hierarchy will be arguing that he was just providing some "constructive criticism".

if he actually entered the umpires change rooms to abuse them, then i would suggest that Strath will be looking for a new coach to look after the team for the rest of the finals plus the first few rounds of 09. That is a big no no!

The small descrepencies usually do not affect the result and there is no doubt that Pistilli is a worthy winner, it is just so frustrating when there are continually errors made that are obviously wrong to everyone except the umpire. I am also presuming that the medal is based on number of kicks and handballs rather than effeciency?

Yeah the umpires really shouldn't have to put up with copping abuse as they are getting changed after the games. They cop enough abuse as it is during the matches! The Strath coach looks like a bit of a nutter too!! :axe: [-X

Bass has accepted a fantastic job in Sydney but for the next few weeks will be commuting back each weekend and for games and thursday night training. I think his coaching aspirations are on hold while he chases a career in television! But great committment to see out the rest of season.

I hope he didn't book his flights too far in advance...
