loby in far better condition this year than last, can build sandcastles on barker and i think i saw ian thorpe swimming on bridgey last year with libby lenton fetching the ball out th creekbernie wrote:From moi's point of view (in order):
Uraidla-Gem of an oval on a sunny day, top surface.
Lofty- Lot better than the old days, holds up under the weather ok, a few potholes. Just watch out for the balcony.
Onkas-Good surface, good space, sometimes gets a bit rough towards season end. Been a finals oval for years.
Hahndorf-Not bad barring the trough along the outside.
Lobey-Gone downhill lately but the space is great, sorts out the non-running sides of the comp.
Blackwood-Looks great but has sneaky patches of sinking, foul smelling mud, think Lofty's Wood drowned there last yr.
Ironbank-Surface is ok but you can kick a goal from the opposite goal square, and distractions occur from the netball courts.
Birdwood-Stuart O'Grady rides there during the footy off-season.
Barker- Bring your spade and pail because it is a sandpit, finals last year were a trek through the sahara.
Bridgey-Mud pies in the bath. After rescusitation post-Blackwood Woody sunk and drowned here as well.

Never played there, but I heard that Milang was a CRACKER.

I assume Kluzek is lining up for Bridgey.
Any forwards back for Lofty?

If it's a clear night, this SHOULD be a % game for the Devs.

Milang was the best going around (you could bounce a footy on it in August). Probably because it was the only HFL oval not in the Hills.

Would have to agree about Milang, and Callington used to be very good, but it has degenerated badly, and last year the surface was very sparce. I enjoyed Echunga and Maccy until they got very wet (last year Maccy stood up well all year).
