Also training with the Under 17's on a Sunday, dono about that... hard to get hungover teenagers out to training, you will never get the best side. Maybe a Wednesday night like the seniors would be more effective?

No LVIS Kangarilla will definately be there! Echunga started very well last year too but i do think they have a lot of work ahead if they are to be competetive come the business end!!!!!!!!!!

It was very wet when Echunga beat Kangarilla. Are Kangarilla that poor in the wet? Great win to you guys, interesting to see how Echunga go against Nairne this week. Did they have a few out? You have played both teams who do you think will come out on top?

Hard to pick as we played Nairne in the wet but it will probably be a good game. Depends on injuries but i will go with Nairne!

Dont want them to be the next Milang.

Uris for the div 1 flag :P

Unfortunately I don't reckon they're that far off Milang. They've definitely got the Spoon rapped up, if Callington don't fall in a heap.

Saw Cally play against Nairne last Sat Cougar. I hope they don't fall in a heap as they are a VASTLY improved side this year. Troy Bond played the last 2 games and to be honest, if you weren't aware he'd been an AFL player, you wouldn't have guessed. Obviously well out of form, out of tone, out of pace etc., but was used as a crumber in the backlines very effectively. Gave away a coupla elementary frees in front of goal though. On the whole, I and fellow spectators felt Cally was very well coached and really weren't too far away at all in the first 3 quarters. They have improved by 500% over the last 3 seasons. Fitness seemed above average, stayed with it all day, tackled hard and kept persisting. They will win more games and will notch up a couple of unexpected ones.

On the question of Gummy becoming the next Milang, all I can offer on that one is that I hope they keep the same spirit in adversity that the Panthers managed to do. They have a better future than the Lakers did in terms of population and juniors etc. but I hope they enjoy their footy as much. Might keep it all happening until better days. Always gotta be bottom sides.
Milang was a real gem lost to the league and all clubs should've have tapped in to their spirit.

D.A. Glad you welcome the input from Country Div. clubs. Just stand by what you say, don't knock us and keep it all footy-based. Been misconstrued by you a couple of times, so Country contributors: keep it all happening. Let's occupy the air-space we have.

On a completely different topic............I hear there is a bit of trouble in the camp at the HFL. Of course it's always been brewing but no-one's been game to challenge Mr O seriously because no-one has all day to do his job. Years ago, the Labor Party had a slogan "IT'S TIME". Yes it is. Why do clubs suffer in silence?.....................................
Older, wiser and been there. But still love that grassroots country footy.

Cooper is a legend and from what I hear and have seen having a huge year after being sick.

Can anyone confirm a rumour that Chris Shee has done his shoulder.

If that is true then Contin and Shee are out. The injury score might be even with Lofty then.

He has played there the last couple of years after the bust up with the U17 coach a few years ago. A pity because he is a very good player. :(

Heard a rumour that after Rhys missed out on selection in the HFL under 17's team, that his parents rang and abused the HFL president about it! What would happen if every player who missed out had there parents ring up and complain. Seriously cop it on the chin and get on with it
