Karoonda have also signed one of our b-graders for cash, heard rumours up to $350 but I reckon more likely $200. He has played a's but was way to timid and will get slaughtered out there by the bigger bodies in the Mallee

This is the landscape of country football nowadays. How many wouldn't jump ship for an unfamiliar rather large carrot?

Exactly right. In a smaller league/town there has to be incentive to draw players out there. And whatever a player is paid is the clubs perogative. No club will pay more than they feel the player is worth. I don't think you need to be a rocket scientist to know that.

I have a question for the Womble Quinn and the Mallee league and for that matter the arroggant river murray league commitee. Look to the future maybe only a couple of years , will you still be there in the current form you are now.??? Many river murray teams and nearly all Mallee are surviving just!!!. No one, either commitee or coaching staff can honestly say they are enjoying footy in its present form. As much as i despise quinn and the raping of b graders in our league , what choice do they have . Quinn a good player years ago, not a proven coach at all , most have no respect for him only the dollar which he doesnt provide anyway and players are luired there by money alone. River murray b graders are 0 points and so they can get as many as they can afford and with huxtable footing the bill , the money is endless. The stocks of bgraders are scarce anywhere even here in the bridge under 17 are required regularly . Both leagues need to get together for crises talks and work together so both can survive into the future. IMO the points system does not work here , very average players are getting $500 plus a game and good players over $1000 because you can only get a few recruits, simply a supply and demand thing. Now b graders are in demand and being paid , also rumoured Clint Warhorse has appointed Ricky Nixon as his manager , what next. We are fine here in the bridge but it wont be too much fun with a 2 team comp.

You have a valid point there. But you also know nothing because Quinn at 30 is still making young hot shots look like crap and as for young Clint Warhurst leave him alone for a bloke you say you know nothing about you have alot to say about the young lad. Get ya facts right before you start writing crap on here. Get a life used to be. Because you know sweet eff all.

Only in that league could womble get a kick i am 55 and could still get a kick. A further test although no one would waste their time would be to have a trial agains imps ramblers Mannum or infact any rmfl team, what a joke that would be , you are dribbling down your shirt front.

What an insight! You mean the rmfl is a stronger comp than the mallee league? Thank you captain obvious! Most of the towns in the rmfl would have a considerably higher population than any town in the mallee, it makes perfect sense the rmfl is going to be stronger! Mind you, I imagine you contribute not a thing to the league and probably your club!

A couple of you new Mallee Football League recruits maybe need a lesson in not burning your bridges and just relax a bit on your own personal social media sites. First of all, remember that your chosen club in this league is your club, not your new club for now, not your club for the year, it is your club.

Moaning and groaning about why would you want come back to RMFL shows a fair bit of disrespect for the MFL bclub and it's members and vollunteers YOU chased to be a part of. As some of you havent played a game yet and already your frame of mind revolves around when your previous club might want to chase you back probably shows a bit too much about your state of mind and we are only in the pre season.

To those locals who live and breathe your league, do not think that blokes who cross a ferry are in for automatic selection and nor should they they be. Doesnt matter where they live or who they live with, they surely will have to earn their spot.
As the year progesses some of them will find that the ovals out there are no quieter than the ones in the RMFL and they can still might be able to hear footseps coming up behind them.

My club has it's fair share of recruits and if while cooking my umpteenth load of chips, I truly hope none of them talk about the late game being a certainty for them.

If training numbers are a reflection of in season performance Karoonda are in a touch of trouble. I wandered past the High School last night and did not get to double figures when taking a count.
