IMO I think the PLFL are scared to hand out anything to the mpfc n if it keeps happening nothing will change ! There is a massive us v them n it will never change unless someone mans up,2n 4 games is a joke n those 2 lads would of walk away with smiles on there faces thinking they got away with it lightly!!

The Times certainly didn't sweep it under the carpet  . Great publicity for the town and the PLFL leading into Mortlock! As they say "you can't buy publicity like that! "

so why cant u comment marblepark surely the players have been given games so the issuse is over if the league arent going to do anymore. sounds like the league doesnt want everyone to know how weak they are at handing out games, both these players should have got the rest of the season minimum.

Marble Park you Pm'd me and said Grub was at the ground and doing the write-up...
What happened to it? Possibly after his previous write-up where he stated 'a player came of second best and took no further part in the game' and the uproar from Tasmans then this game may have been difficult to write or did he write it up and and tell a few home truths and it didnt make print due to the last pathetic uproar?
another grub please comment on what happened

Haven't seen the Times. Someone quote the irrepressible Mr Dunn?

Eski has asked me to post this for him

Very very disappointing night again at the pt Lincoln football league tribunal. Both players found guilty for two of the most disgusting events to take place on a footy field and they both will return to play probably quicker than Kaden. For the striking report on Kaden I believed a fair penalty was 10 games. For the kick to Michael Paech’s head which I still can’t believe I witnessed, should off been years maybe even life! Buddy Franklin gets one game for a bump with little contact and here we have a boot to the head being one extra game penalty?????

Where was I when fight broke out? I was on my way out to check on Kaden of course. We had Kay Paech who did a fantastic job helping Kaden so we did basically what ever she told us. My only concern was Kaden, getting in the fight didn’t even cross my mind. Please understand that Kaden wasn’t kicked at all, the fight broke out and took place right near the Boston coaches box 50 metres from Kaden, which is why when one of our spectators saw Paechy get booted he then pulled the kicker away from him. The only person our spectator had a altercation with was the Mallee runner who confronted him.

I’m not real sure how Pt Lincoln footy deals with the issues that are on going, but I know one thing for sure I like Panthers idea of maybe heading to GFFL. I have a younger son who witnessed his brother swallow his tongue 3 or 4 times, stop breathing, turn as blue as the sky, have fits, all at a game we love to be involved in as a family, but if it’s not going to be a safe environment who wants to take their family to a day out like that.

I am not at all surprised by the verdict, it is all I expected from the PLFL.

The PLFL have failed in their responsibility to provide an adequate deterence to onfield violence and the safety of all players in PL can not be ensured.

They are sending an invitation to all the thugs to come and play in PL because you can do the most heinous things and only expect to get a couple of weeks off.

I'm sure any potential recruits from other EP leagues that are fair, clean classy players will think twice about heading down to our rotten league from now on. It pains me to say that as I have always been proud and passionate about PL, the league I grew up in and represented and have defended to the bone on here previously, but right now the whole show is just totally on the nose.

I believe the BFC have submitted their official letter of complaint as we are required to do but have also added we do not feel the PLFL are capable of handling the situation and are going to the SANFL requesting an investigation. This letter was drafted before the inadequate penalties were handed down last night so our thoughts on the PLFL have been totally vindicated.

Of course going to the SANFL only raises the points BTB made yesterday regarding the false impression the SANFL/AFL have of the MPFC whereby they believe them to be the model indigenous club and we will all be labelled racist. Our mayors prior comments would probably get raised and the Advertiser will have us all as rednecks.

Not sure where to go from here, North I think.......

TO ALL POSTERS ON THIS SITE
If you or someone you know is in a management position at your club
please ask them to send a letter of complaint/ outrage to the league
or beyond. I spoke to a couple of Boston lads yesterday who said they were
basically in a state of shock as the events unfolded and inside the changerooms
feared for their personal safety. No wonder they lost the game.
BTB made some good points yesterday about MPFC being a showcase for
indigenious footballers with the SANFL and the AFL but neither of them
has such a club.
As the Father of two teenagers playing in Lincoln I am and have been concerned for a long time
about the gang mentality that exists "we know where you live" were going to get you after the game
"you Fu#@!n white C@#$T" etc etc
they play on skill and if that doesnt work they play on intimidation.
I am disgusted at the the PLFL they have continued to show they are spineless.
My boys will continue to play but if something even close to this occurs I wont hesitate to
protect them.

Well Well - but unfortunately it's not all well
First of all I am glad the BFC will take this further and Panther's last post saves me a pm to find out if they were. For the sake of everyone this needs to be done. I wish them luck and hope a just response is given. To hell with what the do-gooders think of us over here - this needs to be put in in the spotlight and the real story given for all to see. Then they can make up their own minds. I just hope all their indiscretions are tabled, otherwise, and to use an analogy, it's a bit like the repeat criminal who fronts the court for an offence and whose past record was not allowed to be aired - for the life of me I can't come to grips with that. Then and only then will outsiders appreciate the gravity of the situation. A one-off will have no show.

I remain dumbfounded and my first thought this morning when I read this site was what's the use. I may well have had enough of footy altogether as a result.

Comments on here about folding the Club up and dispersing the players among those Clubs remaining (like it used to be) have enormous merit. I was even involved in a conversation with one of their officials (extremely well known) at their Clubrooms a few years ago who volunteered that that was what should happen. Then the "them versus us" argument loses some clout, at least in respect of sport in this town. When you take into account that most of them live, work, socialise and play sport together, surely that encourages separatism and does nothing at all towards reconcilliation.

Why are the PLFL not looking at the MPFC runner and the BFC supporter/supporters clash then? Is this deemed as acceptable?

I don't know and I don't know if I care. At this stage I don't rekn I will be going.
Second thoughts - I hope MR forfeit the match and set an example to the other Clubs to do the same for the rest of the year. That might just open it all up a bit further.

Daicos - perhaps it is just all a bit much for them. Step in SANFL hey panther

All things need to be looked at not just certain incidents.

I seriously doubt Marble Range will forfeit. That is a big decision for a club going on heresay to pull out of an official match. They would have to face the PLFL themselves then and face the consequences.

Putting aside the half time incident, the day at MP was no different than the usual circus it always is. How long must we attend MP and be treated to the same old crap and lack of respect when it comes time to for the host team to for fill duties required by a team in any league.

no U9's, no U11's, no U13's, barely a U15's, no change room key to lock door, no oval lines marked, no hot water visitors change room etc etc the list goes on.

i can see why their juniors want to play for other teams and somewhat feel empathy for them as they just want to play footy as well but cant with the way their club is run or not run.

IF the PLFL are not prepared to be proactive then five clubs need to meet and make some serious
decisions about the direction and future of footy in Port Lincoln

For the record - MRFC have a football operations meeting on the 1st Tuesday of each month and today is the first Tuesday. It has not been called as a result of the events of last Saturday

Maybe we should start a list of their antics (what, where and when) by posting on this forum and then send these to the SANFL. I am sure each of use could come up with more than a few...

Thoughts??
