More power to him and happy to hear that Rough, he burnt a lot of people along the way and certainly wasn't a "club person" in our experience with him.

Fair enough. It's a bad habit I have assuming everyone drinks. Feeling a bit rusty this morning with a pile of work to do, wish I didnt touch it either.

If Tailem Bend are to be competitive, they need a quality forward + another 4 recruits who can play . Someone who can kick regular bags of 5 goals per game, LEADING GOAL KICKER LAST YEAR AROUND 30 GOALS. They have struggled in this area over the past few years and have got the ball inside 50 just as much as the opposition only to see it go straight out again. They also need to work on their skill level as they turned it over far to often when not under pressure. If they can achieve this along with these players fit & firing they will be competitive. Copper will be a very handy recruit but best footy past him, Muffy if he stays is like a new recruit as he played about 4 games last year best footy past him but still a GUN, Hansen may find it a bit tougher in town in the Seniors at Sturt if he plays more games at TB than Sturt will be like a new recruit will be a GUN played about 4 games last year. Sumner if he plays will be better than last year, as surgery restricted him to no pre-season and played less than half the games. Also need some of the locals that have played regular A grade footy over the past 5 years that are in their early 20's to step up. If this dosn't happen could be a tough year???

Totally agree with your comments DTP...if their local players step up and they get 2 or 3 good recruits there is no reason they can`t scrape into the final five.

Tailem Bend has been on the front foot in retaining locals and keeping their Under 17s from this years Premiership side interested and at the club.

Kartinyeri - is staying, despite links it Karoonda. Best player the league has seen for 20 years, and is certainly not past it at all.

Hogarth - is staying, despite links to Karoonda and other Mallee teams and is the best young player in the comp.

Gregory - is staying, despite links to Marion.

Sumner - is staying, despite talks of him returning to Imps. I remember when this kid was playing in town, and his early days at Imps, and he is as good a player as any in the comp. And may as well be a new recuit for 2010 as he missed most of this year with major surgery.

Linde and Krueger where never going anywhere, despite the stuff that gets said on this forum.

Matt Cooper is a massive signing. People like to say Tailem are in all sorts of trouble, but know very little and get caught up in "Muffy leaving" rumors. A lot is being done out there to make sure they can be competitors in 2010.

Hogarth is a solid player but as for the best young player in the comp.... Steve Braun has got him covered by a fair bit.

Hogarth is over-rated, simple as that. Good solid player is all.

Nobody has mentioned that Daniel Vogt is back in SA and his girlfriend has come with him and got a job here. Ramblers will look very good with him back in the side!!!!

Vogt would certainly be very handy for the Chooks, if they don't lose many and if Button returns to the club, they'll almost start favourites.

Comment was just based on the fact Hogarth has won the past 2 Best Under 21 awards for the leauge, and I believe he is still only 19.

As for Braun, that statement is a little wayward mate, I don't think he is even the best young defender in the comp. Ben Quast from Imperials who would only be 20 or 21 in my opinion is better. Kerian Jaensch at Mypo is another young kid who had a great season and is up there. But Braun, for mine, isn't quite as good as a handful of young talent in the leauge.

Well that's good news for Ramblers, he'd almost be a certainty to return to the club yeah?

Any word on how Vogt performed for the club he has been playing for since he left the Roosters?

Troy Cowland & Scott Menaghetti would be right up there aswell, & from what I'm hearing, young Michael O'Malley will be playing at Mannum not Sturt this year, so he will be V/good in the RMFL

The only Question mark will be the dollar factor. Was on a great package, so it depends if he relies on that footy money, & if Ramblers will pay a kid who come up through their own ranks big cash.
O'neils x 2 & Jackson could get far more on the open market then they would be getting at Ramblers

Statement a little wayward?? Perhaps it wouldn't be the first time. You say your going on facts with Hogarth, fair enough. Facts on Steve Braun - turned 21 last year, was named best defender in the RMFL for 2009, Association CHB/FB 2009 & according to a mate of mine involved with the zone side, just missed selection. Also stands the best forward week in week out. ;)

Thoroughly agree with WOW on this subject, mainly because S.Braun plays on the oppositions best forwards week after week and does not get his colours lowered too often. There hasn`t been much help for him in Jervois` back line for the past couple of seasons.

Yeah okay, fair points you make, in regards to the facts, as Braun being named Best defender in the comp.

However, I would've thought had Hogarth not won the Under 21 again, Quast would have made a good case to claim the award.

Yeah Meneghetti from Mypo is another notible mention.

S Braun,Quast and Hogarth would all be worthy of being called the best junior player in the RMFL.
