Sorry old man... If Lincoln do not win the match, it will be because they played such a poor brand of football. Not because GF were a better side.

I would have thought thay had a decent side.

A fella from one of the Whyalla sides got BOG for the carnival, and just for you Gully got in the training squad...

Lincoln Districts came second, Lincoln City third.

Mid West were pretty uncompetative this carnival. Must be worrying signs for them.

I presume Port Lincoln will win the final by between about 10-15 goals.

Mid West's high point was winning the Magpie Cup.

Heard Lincoln up by roughly 8 goal at 3 quarter time.

I have just got home from the footy and Port Lincoln far to good in all facets of the game. From the opening minutes you knew Port Lincoln how far.

PL 15.11-101 def GF 7.6-48

I am concerned about the crowd, it was dismal today and the carnival needs revamp. People will push for night football at ravendale but I dont think that is the answer. PL has to be split up.
I heard country people in the crowd saying " Stuff coming down here every year to get flogged like this" (I heard it Sat & today).

Anyone got any ideas to revamp our dying carnival?

the lincoln team should be split up again! but wasnt their a time where great flinders were dominated for 3 carnivals in a row? ..... at the same time i think if the teams were split up this year lincoln city would have won by 10 goals anyhow

Splitting the teams was a must for what is now a Dying Carnival.
I have never seen so fewer people at a shield.
Empty carparks and vacant spots at the main game point to not only
the patrons being annoyed at Lincolns Dominance but less and less people on the Peninsula,
Having teams with no supporter base ie KI and Whyalla (if they come in 2012)
and basically nothing has changed in 50 years.
I am not sure of any easy answers but maybe night games, Exhibition or SANFL games on Sunday,
Bringing Kinlough in line for the W/E, A major Netball Carnival.
Any ideas out there?

I like the idea of an exhibition match being played or maybe even a sanfl match...just putting it out there, imagine port Adelaide playing someone in the afternoon as a main attraction and the carnival being played round that.
Splitting the 2 Lincoln teams up is a no brainer, it wasn't good seeing a team dominate like that and being apart of a team it's not a good feeling coming up against Lincoln and getting flogged...
I know it's hard but would be great to see some netball at the same day to bring everyone togethr...I know this is country champs weekend and thatbwould be hard But any ideas are better then none...
