It's highly unlikely we will see any upsets this week I reckon. From form over the past two weeks i'd have to run with BJ and FM's tips (although who could actually understand FM's tips) but with Willunga playing again at home and Strath 0-2 that the Demons will punish them after losing at home last week. Game of the round...Encounter v Myponga/Sellicks

Your on drugs, my tips are clear as day light mate.

Actually I reckon it will be an interesting contest between Victor and Langhorne, the interest will come by wya of seeing if Victor can keep the Creeks to under 20 goals and still score a repsectable scoreline themselves.

Mypo will be out to win so Encounter wont be able to afford to be complacent whilst Willunga will need to rock up to play footy as Strath will be expecting to do a lot better after seeing Willungas result last week.

I'm going to take a long shot here and say that Victor will do alright against the Creeks, I think they will suprise a few people. Won't win but will get within 5 goals.

I don't think there will be a match of the round this week. I can't see any of those matches being close to be honest. Hopefully I'm proven wrong!

How does everyone see the final 5 shaping up now that we've had 2 weeks to have a look at all the sides???

I'm thinking it might look something like this...

Hawks
Demons
Bulldogs
Bays
Roos

I tell you what BJ, you've been pumping up the Creeks a fair bit. You seem to think they've got the premiership stitched up already. You wouldn't be interested in buying a membership would you??

BJ, Limby - you've both just gone and named the current top five and simply re-arranged the order! hardly a prediction, there is a long way to go but you both seem to agree that the current top five will be unchanged.

Personally I think a couple of sides will challenge this in McLaren and Strath - they will hit there straps.

BJ rightly so you have a high opinion of Willunga but why such a poor one of the Bays? I only ask as they beat you at home on Sat, next you have to travel to see them - surely they are a little better than you let on?

my opinion of willunga is not as high as you perceive.
i did not know what the top 5 was before i put that in.
i said my piece on how the game went on saturday, we had so many more inside 50s than encounter bay and with what we were missing i can only see we are a lot better than that.
in saying that, encounter bay did win and deserved to, they took there chances and did some things that impressed me. i dont know what the other sides are like at this point in time but knowing players that have gone to other clubs and what they were like last year.
it is very early on and im sure it will change, strath are definitely better than where i put them but who to take out of that 5, mclaren off the pace i think.

FM, I see where you're coming from in regards to just naming the current top 5 and rearranging them but at this point I can't see any other sides featuring come September. Strath started the year with two home games and lost both of them convincingly. I know its early days but its gonna be very difficult for them to recover after such a poor start. I gotta admit I don't know a lot about McLaren so they could be a surprise packet. Myponga didn't look to flash to me when we played them in Round 1 and we've always struggled at Myponga. Mind you they do have a few new players so they might need a few weeks to gel. That leaves Yank and Saints who are going to languish at the bottom of the table I'd say.

It is a long year though and it's very early days so we'll see what happens!

Country footy is stuffed. every years the same. After 3 - 4 rounds its always obvious the premiership race is down to 2 - 3 teams max(many times just 1). The other clubs just go through the motions of trying to grab 4th or 5th spot)
The last genuine surprise premiership winner was Yanalilla way back in 1985 coming from 5th to upset the Creeks.
These Days its not how good your locals r but its about how much money the club spends (or sponsors) and having good contacts in the right places to get value for money players. I'm Basically saying Premierships mean very little these days and r just another excuse (on a very long list with young ones these days) to wipe themselves off on the grog for a weekend at the end of the season.
Good luck to all clubs and hope to hear of some upsets during the year to brighten up what otherwise looks to be another predictable season.
Bring on the Creek v Willunga GF now.

It's like that in every competition - take a look at the SANFL, even AFL. It's not just a country footy thing.

Thats a Fair Point You've got there Doggy, The Point I'm Trying to make is that Country Clubs have got no hope any more in winning a premiership with mainly local players. 25 - 30 years ago a lot of premierships would have won by clubs using probably 85 - 90 % local players where as nowadays a club has to spend BIG $$$$$$ and have a team of 50% outsiders to take out the big one. This is Not what i thought Country Footy Should be about but i can see how it has evolved to this stage.

The Saint -- I Believe but could be wrong that the Great J Hill is on about the same as he gets for His cricket which make him the best value 4 money player in the club and have been told that the "B" grade coach should appreciate his talents more and should be pushing his case for "A" grade selection more or he could be on the move elsewhere.

100% agree with you JJ. even in the times when we (hahndorf) played you (L.C.) in the late 70's 95%+ were locals and only one or two were outsiders.

now most have 50/50 ratio's
