I cannot understand the verdict of 2 weeks. It is either not guilty or 10 -12 weeks? I would love to know the reasoning behind this decision of 2 weeks?

steiger wrote:One thing at time from me. First up the alleged "pitch invasion" by members and/or supporters of the BFC. Definitely not condoned in your normal punchup/brawl between 2 sides. BUT when a kid (any player for that matter but especially a kid) is allegedly being held by one and punched by another and then he's unconcious and then the boots are in and one of this kicks could kave killed him if it got him in the wrong spot, then I would like to know who wouldn't jump the fence. You can work it for yourselves what I would think of that person. It may well be hats off to the person(s) jumping the fence as they may have saved his life. Couldn't happen you say ?????

Then we are left with the precedent where, at some game in the future, someone else jumps the fence to "save some other person's life" , however back to this case - Unfortunately the BFC "invaders" need to be properly sanctioned and penalised for their deed so that these future "heroic" events do not eventuate as there is the awareness that it could be the end of football invlovement/spectating for them. The kicker, well he needs to be rubbed out for a long, long time

Where was Eski during all of this?

Being a parent and if I saw boots being put in, I do not think I could have stopped myself from taking part, whether being on the bench, water boy or in the car!
I have been so impressed with our footy in the most part as being “country” in the Hills.
You must have lost it......then I hear of our weekend at Kangarilla, (see Country thread) what is happening to country footy?
If that happened in front of the “Hill” (Steiger would know at the Thunderdome) I would expect every spectator to jump the fence to destroy the perpetrator!
As Steiger would say ”at least to save someone’s life”!

I was asked not to post on the verdict, and will not, until I am given permission.

As a point of order, suspensions are given in the following manner:
player is guilty, gets X minor round games, and can't play until his suspension is up.

so if dudley gets 2 matches, he has the round 6 match (before mortlock) and round seven match (first one after mortlock), before he can play again in round 8. Mortlock does not count, as it is not a minor round game.

does the boston supporter/supporters have to face the law or is it acceptable to do what they did?

I haven't spoke to anyone in authority about it, so this is obviously my personal opinion...

"Critter," whose real name is still a mystery to everyone I've spoken to, didn't break any football rules.

I think we can all agree that what he did was, for the most part, wrong, even though there is some justification, but...

I can't find a football rule that he has broken.

Is murder in the football rules?
If not does that mean he would get off?
Am I right in saying this guy gets off because in the rule book there is no rule that says if a supporter jumps the fence and is involved with an altercation with a player it is an offence?
Am I old and senile or is something wrong here?

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty good at things like this...

And, no, murder is not in the football rules.

But creating a public disturbance (which he did by intervening in the footy match), public drunkenness (well he was pi$$ed), common assault (ALLEGEDLY), and a few others are against the laws of the commonwealth of australia, so he might have an issue there...

phew, what a couple of days in footy. BP hope you recover ok mate. panther you know where to come to watch matches in GF, i can even put you and the family up for the night.
4 matches for knocking someone out. gee boys there are some major problems. myself and fev have argued on here regarding the s reid 8 matches and my whole argument is that we cannot under any circumstances have players cannot getting knocked out on the field. it is terrible at the time for the player (and down the track, jim holman has reportly given up footy after again knocking himself out) and it is most certainly a bad look for kids and parents.
2 matches for kicking!!!! geeee. i think the boys in charge may have some explaining to do because if he is guilty then it has to be more than that.

Seriously thought, Bostons hat isn't on my head, my "love of football" hat is.

You can't have the situation where players and spectators are actually scared of going to Pecker Park, which is what we have now.

There is not adequate enough protection for the players, and for clubs to fulfil their "duty of care" to it's own players, they should be forfeiting Mallee Park matches.

Having said that, it isn't opposing clubs fault, so Mallee's should be farewelled....

as a league representative and the pitafull outcome, i assume you will bring this to the table at next league meeting as you stated you are not wearing your "Boston Hat" when commenting on this matter.

"Critter's" real name is not a mystery, its just not bandied round after the threats from MP players and alike against him. Good thing he was ejected from the ground, he may have needed a ride in the ambo as well if stayed there.
