Heres another one for you bish...

Guess the Club:

Which football club in the PLFL
a) Had the official club Picnic on Sunday which was attended by 3 players and 1 coach.
b) Has hired the club out for Saturday nite the 26th August....this is the last minor round so we need to go somewhere else that nite
c)Has only organised one social function this year which resulted in 30 of our best drinkers spending the nite at Wangary.[/quote]

mmm, agree BTB not good, Im guilty of not going to picnic so I cant throw stones.
The turn out from players and supporters at the club on saturday night wasnt flash either.

If there's no B's reckon I might head to Tumby for the top of the table clash up there. Not much interest in watching our A's as we have two forwards so they'll probably only get 10 each!!

I see the top 5 best players for Eyre'souths' United all came from The Lincoln South FC.

Its the same everywhere fellas..... .....100% agrree with scoob. No one plays for the jumper anymore (maybe a few). The standard has dropped off in the last 10-12 years quite considerably.

Apparently most spectators left afetr the U17s at HQ.

Why dont you play As wcp.... a bag beckons... it will resurect your career. How did Sat night go? Did zoo poo behave?

Premiership Odds could possibly look like this....
MR $1.50
MP $3
W $4.5
any other team $51

Happened last year.
There was an apathy that you normally find in a team that's just seeing out the year. I didn't understand it. Finals time should be exciting, and that's not far away.

Had a great night Saturday with the 95/96 B grade reunions on. Zoo was there of course, still a bit of a crowd favourite with the Ranger faithful. Bar was shut at midnight with 20 odd blokes still chugging hard, that pisses me off!! Bit of money floating around the caravan Saturday, had to pay $5 and select who would kick next goal with the winner taking all. Player would pass off and the crowd erupts, players weren't sure what was going on!! Would be right up your alley Grub!!

the only two players that gave a stuff for us on the weekend were Doddy and Tyson Stephens. MJ shouldnt have played. Only 12 people went back to the complex which was good because it was more than supported us at Wangary. The support around our coaches box was huge last year, can I ask where all that support has gone? I asked one club great (over 300 games) and he said he wasnt going to watch THAT and was playing golf now. sounds like we are all doing it tough besides rangers.

HS because there was no Bgrade. The Northern did a roaring trade tho.
anyone got any ideas on some entertainment while everyone sits around for 75 minutes inplace of the Bgrade game. Reports from HQ was that they put ABC radio on the loudspeaker and everyone left.. one player stated to me it was the smallest crowd he had ever played in front of.

btb , BR has stated that 2 clubs in the PLFL arent helping Bostons.... What is he eluding to there....what are these clubs meant to be doing to help them and who are they?
Totally agree with your comments on the coach not putting up a team on Friday night.... where would our clubs be without the Fri night support? The older club members love seeing whos in and out for tommorow. Poor Effort.

Can't see Friday nite footy being part of the program for many years to come. Pre Season trial games will be great, and hopefully all clubs can get back into this old fashioned way of preparing for the season proper.
Grub..the support related specifically to a permit suggestion that Bostons put forward to help it field a competitive side this year and beyond. related to enabling players from EE in particular to come down to PL on the bye weekend to play for the tigers. It was supported in kind by the PLFL but restrictions put on it made it really unworkable. There were 2 clubs that took a hard stance on this, and virtually kyboshed the proposal. One of these clubs publicly stated at the meeting that this was forestalling the inevitable and in their opinion, the sooner that the tigers folded the sooner a merger with GFL could be tabled. The other told BR after the meeting that the reason he could not support the matter was because they too felt that a merger with GFFL was imminent and that propping up the tigers was not in their best interests. The two clubs were Rangers and the Eagles.

As for the side being displayed in the clubrooms, it is just plain crap. We had an excellent crowd there on Friday nite with almost all of them going up to the notice board to have a look at the 'non existent' team. Is a problem we have had to put up with for a while now, and really irks me. Put up a 'bogus' one if you must, but give the punters something to talk about. The might stay for a couple of extra beers as well, instead of not coming back the following week.

re: side not being put up..... sometimes people forget who keeps the club going... its the members that sponsor, drink and in some cases play the pokies that keep the doors open and create some atmosphere.... these supporters might just go to the Tasman or somewhere else for a drink next Friday night.
most players are just happy to TAKE TAKE TAKE.

Maybe he should have gone to Tumby a month ago for $500 per game.
Crouch is leaving Lincoln in two weeks.

Who would support such a proposal, sufferin suckotash, it's pr pr pr preposterous!! MR & LS were probably the only ones to say what they really thought and can see the bigger picture with Bostons not the only ones to fold or restructure if EP footy is to thrive. Everywhere else has seen mergers etc including Upper EP, why do we think we are still going ok? Gt Flinders is probably only more even this year because the bottom sides have managed to tread water while the top have come back a bit (thoughts WT, MB & HS)

BR's lack of confidentiality has not gone unnoticed either......

Not being a PLFL player this year but having the prospect of one day playing in that league again, i would have to say i would find it dis-heartning to wake up on a saturday morning knowing that our team will win by 30 goals whether i myself contribute to the team or not....and in the end it is a team game in which you dont want any of your players feeling like that!!

Im not sure bostons trying to get consessions and help or whatever from the PLFL will really help things will it? say the PLFL gave bostons $10000 spread over the next 3 years to attract some players via financial means (figure made up) what happens after those 3 years....??? will those players even stay?

In our league while i've been there yellana have been the bottom of the table for the last 5 years....but they still managed to win 3 or 4 games a year and they are always within distance of 4th and 5th...although tumby's team is much stronger this year than the last few years, i think it's pretty clear that even with ramblers full side out on the ground, it is much much weaker than their dominance of the past few years....which is a good thing because every team in the league is very keen to give 110% when you play them to try and beat them. I've been playing in the league for 5 years and still havn't played in a team which has beaten them, yet this year we've come within 11 points.

Im not sure if a boston merger with tumby is the go, or with any GFFL for that matter, i just think not enough of the blokes will be keen to do the travelling involved, even if there was coin involved.

has Ramsey hung out to much dirty laundry or do you think it is good that he is honest and putting the problems out there?
Its almost as if he talks about them as himself an outsider.

What are you going to do? Take some more of his players?

And I find it quite amusing that inhabitants of Planet Wangary would or could accuse any other clubs of not seeing the bigger picture. The fact that you have found yourself siding with Lincoln South (a team you enjoy deriding) might tell you a bit more about yourself than you are prepared to admit.

A lot of quality players have chosen to leave, for another club to knock back signing another player just doesnt happen. We say we wont sign them but EVERY club will and does without a second thought. To solely point the finger at MR is not correct ... WE are ALL to blame.

We have one player that came from Bostons and that was Trent P 3 years ago...and didn't we get belted for that?
Previous one to that was probably David Raleigh...was approached by at least 2 players from Bostons early this year looking to came across. In all circumstances we refused to send a letter...told them to go back to the club and discuss.
grub...there is a difference between signing a player and actively pursuing them.
