Draw between Mallee Park & Rangers

Postby steiger » Mon Jul 10, 2006 10:41 am

Suggest that Mallees would be very happy with the result and Rangers would not be overly disappointed.
Ackers did not play with a broken finger (training accident last Thurs). Surgery to insert a pin this week will mean he's out for many weeks but may return for the finals. Tokarski & Rynne pulled out sick on Sat morning. So we lost our enforcer, our centreman and the magic of Rynne and it's fair to say that hurt. So now we know how the other teams have felt this year losing some of their guns.

Drama in the U17's with Mallees losing their entire score a minute into the last quarter after leading quite comfortably by 6 goals. They had young David Dudley red carded during the 3rd quarter and at the commencement of the last quarter had one too many on the ground. Count was called and that was that. That was their second error of the day after forgetting to name Terry Dudley on the team sheet but who played, and played well, during the game. (We let that one go thru to the keeper)
What's that song - "And it's one, two strikes your out at the old ball game" (or did I miss something.)

No regrets for 2 reasons - 1) They protested against us in a semi final last year when we played a lad in the wrong guernsey number (What they don't know that we know is that they played a fellow in that same game without naming him on the team sheet - once again we did not report that)
And 2) - If the situation was let past without being reported, they will just keep on doing things wrong. They have to be accountable

So it really was 3 strikes your'e out

I doubt Ramblers would be too woried, surely.

BOAGS - As for Goldsmith, he's not AFL. He's also not a 4th string defender. At Onkas he was actually a dangerous forward from memory, maybe that's why he's a poor backman!
Onkas are not good enough to just let him go, there would have been other reasons. They lost by 70-odd pts on the weekend, but only 2 weeks earlier inflicted a teams first loss for the season. He might have mates at Mallees?
I can tell you that he got cheeky with the wrong bloke last year and got a nice smack in the face for his efforts. Shut him up.

Ravendale is getting better with every match and as for the crowd being low wouldn't that have something to do with souths lack of supporters.
Marble Range shouldn't have taken the points in the U17 match apparently they were never going to win. Bostons should have given back the points to a couple of years ago.... that was wrong stieger.

RR- I think what steiger and the lads did was the right decision to do. Does it really matter if they were never in it, fairs fair and you cant go around breaking rules and getting away with it!

You've got be joking RR - So if this occurred in a game against your side and lets say in a grand final with scores close or otherwise, you would turn a blind eye. Methinks not.

And as I said we had already turned a blind eye twice previous to that

Now how did I know you were going to say that.
Sorry to spoil your little game RR - no justification required - just stating the facts on exactly what happened and why.
And why don't you answer the question. Let me tell you why - the truth hurts doesn't it.

heard that MP are filthy with rangers as they knew that the extra player was on the ground when the last qtr started but waited until HALFWAY through the last qtr to call the count. If that is the case then SHAME SHAME SHAME. Apparently it took 10 minutes to find the captain to raise the concern with the umpires. Even his dad (steiger) couldn't remember where he was playing.
Rumors abound that CA is finished for the year and BW has a nasty wrist injury. They have plenty of big guys to fill the hole, including the 'gun' from victoria but I think they really need to recruit an animal handler to remove the green and yella monkey from their back before it turns into a rossco sized gorilla. Either that or a psychologist to assist with therapy.

Rumours and hearsay - don't you just love it
For your information PM, it went like this - we did our own count as the ball was bouncing for the start of the last quarter. Runner immediately despatched to get captain (standing in true CHB position) to notify umpires of our concern, who dutifully did as ordered. Umpire blows whistle and asks all players to congregate in the middle of the oval. Total time for all this to occur - approximately 1 min.
Stop stirring - your making me laugh

At Districts U17's training last night some of the Mallee boys were even joking about it and didn;t seem to care. They probably know they've got the wood on all the other sides anyway and see it is a little hiccup on their way to September glory. The message was quite clear - they stuffed up

It feels like I've gone back a year, RR back doing what he does best, and more bullsh*t on here than you can poke a stick at!!

Happy with a draw on Saturday, when we were 14 points down halfway through the last quarter and thinking we were going to lose I did a count of blokes on the ground that won't be in the ones come September. There were 6 and one was at CHF where we were falling down after dominating the first half with Caulf up there. Our turn for the injuries now and Kinlough has come along at the perfect time for us. Jarrod Doudle again BOG in the reserves, you can factor him into your League calculations....
