There seems to be very little football talk on here this season. Why such drop off in comments?

Some big games this weekend which could all go either way.

Bostons and Souths is a dead set line ball job I reckon having seen both sides play this season. I lean the tigers way.

Tasmans at full strength I think would have the demons measure just.

Mallee Park are just starting to get their act together and will improve week by week but they will have to play at their best to beat the rangers.

What does everyone else think?

I would be interested in your Port Lincoln side that should represent us on next week. Post your side.

Port Lincoln's third or fourth XXII would be sufficient to beat the Great Flinders League team IMO.

The "best side" bar one or two (newer players to town mostly) would be all but a lock, but I don't know if that's the side that would go.

The last two years, our May I/League game has been an Under 25 side.

I'd rather see an Under 25 side again, which would mean a few Mortlock starters wouldn't get a gig, but we'd get a good look at a couple of younger kids who mightn't be Mortlock starters just yet- i.e. Traeger, Rawson, Quade Ware, but if those types go and dominate against Great Flinders, then who knows...???

The Roosters will still be a couple short for this week but should be a ripper
against our fellow tenants :)
Ross Campbell in this week, not sure about Kenny, Ben Daniels playing for Port.
The coach performed well last week and its important that he leads by
example, a couple of the new guys starting to find there feet, but against
a polished side in the DEmons the boys will need to be on the top of their
game.
Still a few Mallee Pk guys wandering around looking for a game elsewhere.

I see choppy had his clearance denied for a second time.

WFC looking forward to testing itself against the competition measuring stick.

Media Park, are you trying to start a war with our neighbouring league?

Have to disagree here MP, In my opinion Great Flinders are going though the same season we went through in 04-07 when Lincoln had some good rep sides but couldnt go anywhere successfully. If they put their strongest side out their which i believe they try too, this year i think will be a lot closer than you seem to think(when they play our best 22/25?)

For the people that remember, the squad of 08(PLFL) wasn't that much weaker(if any) than the squad from 09, however the results tell a different story. I think it all comes down to the mindset of the individuals and what they are there for. Zoomer and his staff have a done a great job bringing the respect back to the PLFL team and now its back to being a priviledge to be a squad/team member not just something that gets done for the sake of it.

I have spoken to a few GF guys most of them will be finished or close to by the 21st.
they will be pretty keen. :)
I see the u9's and u11's want to play on Friday nights what a great idea, but I cant see the clubs supporting
the concept, particularly as its at the worst venue in Port Lincoln.
RR you are suffering from premature expectation never seen a premiership won in May.
I for one will still keep posting the usual BS during the season

Looking at the squad in today's paper, I think this side would comfortably account for any Lincoln 3rd or 4th XXII!!!!
Hazelgrove, Curtis, Gregory, Tiller, Ness, Wedd, Mickan, Burgoyne, Breed, G Pedler, Telfer, M Habner, J Pedler, T Habner, Crettenden, Minhard, Holman, Blacker, Whittaker, Parker, Moroney, Green

Interestingly, Dylan Dunn didn't make the squad although he's played the last couple of years for Lincoln.

Having said that, I don't see GF being as strong as they have been over the past decade. They've had some outstanding key position players that are all getting a little older now (or retired) that have been the backbone of a very good side. I think Lincoln's pace would be a bit of a worry and they should have GF's measure I reckon.

Fresh of Sportingpulse.com

From Mallee Park Football Club To Boston Football Club Inc. Player Roderick, Billy'O Pending 11/05/11

Didn't this fly under the radar. The Tigers sign a Pecker premiership player and keep it very quiet. Wonder if MPFC will reject this one??

One would wonder how this person would pass the new 'tiger code' which decides wether a person is worthy of joining the club?

Having said that I see one serial offender played in the b grade last week
