he has signed and loving it. as for florentini, he is good mates with some of the boys and the rumour is that if he aint playing league he will play for the devils. as for money not aware how much he is asking, but with the side lofty have doubt they will be offering big coin.
it will be interesting to see how birdwood go, beating a div 6 side to me really isn't enought to show that they will be competitive in div 1. lets hope there new ruckman is better than the 1 they originally chasing!
No chance of that Ron!!!
So are you gracing everyone with your presence on the field this season, or do your Anchorman duties take up too much of your time???

C Grade

Postby super boot » Wed Apr 04, 2007 4:40 pm

On a brighter note I believe a meeting will be held after Easter with Club Presidents to facilitate a C Grade comp.
Uraidla, Mt Lofty and Ironbank and one other are involved.
The HFL are not involved, so it could be the start of a breakaway league, I agree bring out the reps from the Junior Colts should be well organised then!

this sounds like a great idea with the amount of youngsters coming up and other recruits to these sides. what will be the go, having only 4 teams in a comp wouldnt work, wouldnt it be easier to create 2 div 2 teams both fielding an A's and a B's. anyone got any thought on this, we should try and keep some of these people up in the hills comp, if they dont get a game here they will go elswhere

Holy crap!
2 pages and no-one got bagged. Nice one, forum!
Some good points.
I totally agree that the bottom 3 Central teams from last year will vastly improve, therefore Birdwood are up against it. But I hope they do steal a couple of games.
C grade...nah, leave it. 4 teams isn't enough. And c'mon, mid season, a lot of clubs will be searching for players due to injuries. The footy season is a long one. Of course you don't want to lose players but the best will be picked each week, that's the way sport goes.
And don't expect to see J Brown at FF for Uris this year.

The only (original) thing I can think of is if you see a trainer giving him a drink, get stuck into him about it being full of jeiger bombs. The bloke loves the stuff.

Other than that, it's the toilet masturbation thing as discussed on the HCA thread.

Love your work Silky!

Dutchy if you want a good sledge for Silky read the cricket forum and you will find some stuff that apparently worked on him during the cricket season

I agree ron, Meadow's beat a Div 4 team (Mitcham) by 7-8 goals a couple of weeks ago so i don't think Birdwood can take much out of it. Birdwood lads struggled to get a kick in div 2 so me thinks Birdwood LAST by a long way!!!!!!

Yeah we've played two trial games, one against Lucindale which we won and one against Kangarilla which we lost. Things are coming along nicely and I think given more time the team will surely gel a bit more.

TBF, nairne couldnt still be waiting for 4 clearances from mtbarker as murphy has already gone and you can only get three players to the club from one club.

JQ, why wouldnt we see JBrown at FF this year at cabbage land.

it would be good for bwood to steal a couple of games this yr but really cant see it happening.

I went down to have alook at a quarter of footy at the Birdwood game last weekend and to even think that Birdwood will win a game is pretty far off the mark.

The standard of footy was very bad. Slow, poor skills, plenty of turn overs and no hard footy.

But to at least defend them a little, thye had afew good passages of play and with regards to the hardness the groung was wuite large and in great nick I must add, this could be a reason for bugger all tackling.

Footy can be a funny game sometimes and Birdwood may sneak a game or 2 in for trhe season. but going on what I have seen in Hills central footy and what I saw on Saturday, there is a huge difference.

Funny how central teams are playing Div 2 sides in town and Birdwood are playing Div 6 sides. Forum you tell me..........

Birdwood finished around 5th last year. They would have had to have recruited well just to compete in div2 let alone go up. They will finish stone motherless last without one win. Sorry, gutsy move to go up but Mt Lofty are trialing against far better opposition and only just losing. The botttom div1 sides are all improving by the sound of it.

Great content lately from the forum since DA has pulled his head in. 80 pages of dribble over summer. Did anyone hear that MLFC has won 3 flags LAST year?

the devils probably should have gotten closer to shocs, there was some pretty poor shots at goal i think the devs ended up with 16 points? lofty are gonna have to work hard on their conversion rate if they are gonna win 2 flags in a row

true however a lot of their points were hurried snaps or shots under pressure. Dont get too worried Dev fans, its only a trial, it'll come!

the posts have been good lately forumers, dont ruin it LVIS by getting stuck into people itll all just start up again.

i guess we'll actually have to wait and see when birdwood play their first div1 game. no one really thinks that birdwood are going to do very well this yr but if they were to grab a couple of sneaky wins it could hold them in good stead for the nxt few yrs with some good recruiting. gd luck to them i say, theyve shown the balls a couple of other div2 sides shouldve had.

TBF, you say that onkas will a force this yr but they only beat a middle of the range hills div2 side by 5 or so in their trial didnt they??
