Lets get some constructive talk about the games. Who went to what game and what did you see? Post your comments that is what the site is all about.

The real rossco what did you think of your demons? Steiger did you venture out to wangary?

I sat in my car due to the conditions on Saturday and had a look at the roosters and let me tell you they are the real deal.
Wrinkey, Brown, Dodd and Magic lead a very solid defence and Magics run of half back was important especially early. What was impressive was tasmans midfield depth Campbells x 2 , Semmler and Hanson looked good. The forward line if it clicks looks far superior to what any other side has Wagener, Cimarosti hold the key posts with Ben Daniels the emerging star that will dominate on the third defender. James floating aroound the forward line looks dangerous and Cunningham is capable on his day. Throw in this Francis character and he may complete the premeirship side.
The peckers just didnt have the look about them and it was pretty evident early that they would not measure up in this match. Qaude Ware looks to have improved again and can possibly step into J Burgoynes shoes (pardon the pun). They had 6 - 8 paasengers the peckers and you just cant taqke that many into a game when you come up against the roosters who only seemed to have 2 or 3 that are in the cheap seats.
The roosters dominated and should have won by more.

I ventured out of my car on Sunday to have a look at the Demons and they were good. Ben Kayser solid at half back against no opposition. Sampson was a constant threat up forward and Keatley, Kay, Rawson , Cragg have come back in good nick.

Lincoln South were very young and I thought their effort was acceptable but they lack midfield depth and any forwards. Kemp in ruck went ok and young Hall and Treager run all day. The eagles are in for a long year and will struggle to beat bostons.

In ranking the sides at this stage this is where I have them in scores out of 10.

Tasmans 10
Waybacks 8
Peckers 6
Rangers 4
Tigers 3
South 2.5

What happened in the game at Wangary?

CC,
The report doesnt show up on the leagues web site.
I am not sure I'd right off Mallees after one game wait and see what there like
in July /August. I noticed Choppy was out there helping :)
Did both Harders play?
On Rangers I see there new guy was named best along with the Owen boys
who must be a couple of the most consistent players around.
Its a pity we wont get to see the Campbells/Owens match up this weekend

Very Important player for is Metro Club, Adelaide Lutheran in SAAFL D5. Played 1 game for them this year on a permit kicked 8 against Woody South.

Should be just as good over there as D4/5 is a similar standard

Who's on Stamford Tce? Guessing you mean Seaton Ave?

For those with young fella's, Mallee's have forfeited the year in Under 15's, I haven't seen it in the paper yet, so I'll post it here.

Interesting point, any views on what people think the standard of PLFL is in relation to Amateur League?

I wuld have thought Lincoln league would be around Div 3 standard with plenty of players who would be good enough to play Div 1.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

From what i've heard from mates playing in different divisions in Adelaide amateurs, Most seem to think PLFL would be around div3 standard, but like bum crack mentioned guys like Keatley, Goodwin, Semmler, Jericho and those sorts of guys could go as far as they desired. One note to point out was that Paul White went straight from LSFC to Norwood in 03 or 04 and won the reserves B&F by a fair margin, So the top players here mightn't be that far off the mark as you might think. I think it changes from year to year, but yeah i reckon on average it would push round the division 3 standard.

Take that on board but is there a big difference between No 1 player to No 18. In Div 3 SAAFL you cant "hide" players or you will soon get found out.

Another question, what is the B grade umpire situation in the PLFL. Does the league supply umpires or does the club as in SAAFL?

For the last 4 or 5 years the clubs have had to suply own b grade umpires. They generally dont blow the whistle too often.

Steakn is your brother playing this season? I noticed you had a very young side out there and desperatly need some experience. Do you have any key position players to come into your side?
