Roopena had a comfortable win over Central last night. Won't be an unbeaten team after round 4. This is shaping as a great season.

Congratulations Roopeena Football Club for winning the A & B Grand Final for 2010. Weeroona Bay can take alot out of this game, firstly for this club to go further they have to rid the embarresment of what unfolded in the last quarter, never in my life have i seen the most ridiculous and gutless act of a sore loser in a player called cheap shot Goslyn, what a hero. If this is what Weeroona Bay are all about they will never experience the ultimate feeling, I can just imagine the few bay boys bragging about their cheap shots to themselves whilst the Roo boys are soaking up that winning feeling.

Many good players when its a 100 point win but BOG went to Bernie Kelly. Perks had an awesome second half to the year and we had plans for him if he was to win the medal over Nowak (Highly Unlikely), but only polled 2 votes, including 0 in a game where he had mid 40s!

In regards to Saturdays game, with about 5 min to go in the last quarter, a player previously mentioned in this forum decided to chase after the Roopena captain to belt him for no reason. From this a number of punches were thrown at Roopena players, many from behind and one guy ran 10m punched a guy in the back of the head and ran away! This continued for a while and in all honesty, the game probably should have been called. Even though one guy lost part of his ear (sounds a bit worse than it is), there were numerous split lips and one guy who has never hurt a fly and didnt really know what was going on was KOed and was hit while out on the ground, Roopena maintained pride by not engaging in their crap.

The player in question is Anthony Joslyn.
He is a former soccer player with a very troubled background.
No doubting the skill of the man, but his, and Weeroona Bay's ongoing thuggery will continue to hinder the club's success until they are gone.
I believe Greg Fiebig was the player attacked most viciously, receiving a number of stitches, while Damien Hannemann was knocked out.
I have seen more talented players go into that club and out the other end half the players they were.
Examples:

Andrew Hoffmann, Gary Hoffman, Josh Parker. All good under agers that have either gone backwards or stopped playing all together.
The whole culture of the place has to change.
John Sawford tired to by bringing in an outsider coach a few years back.
There is no other club like Weeroona Bay out there for feralness.
They are disgraces to country football at the moment.

weeroona bay seem that they have to uphold the tradition of the 80s where they had a few tough hard units running around but now the club has a culture of recruiting young talented footballers and wreaking them with a there own unique culture. well done to the roos and well done to the souths under 14 boys.

One bloke who could have, and there is a chance he still could, take his footy further is Geoff Appleton.
Genuinely good bloke stuck in a bad club culture and being held down by it. Sad really.

On a separate note, sad to see Dean Storic miss the grand final after breaking his leg late in the season.
Still yet to register an A grade flag, but a player of his talent certainly deserves one
