Strathalbyn vs Yankalilla - Strath should be too strong but as we all know Yank can be the Jekyll and Hyde of the GSFL depending on who they have available on any given week. Roosters by 7 goals.
Mt Compass vs Langhorne Creek - This will be an absolute arm wrestle, when the two sides met at this venue it resembled mud wrestling and I think there were less than 5 goals scored in total. Hawks by less than a goal, only cos they're my team!
McLaren vs Encounter Bay - Encounter Bay have shown glimpses of brilliance all season and will need to be ready for a tough hit out against the "other" eagles. The conditions will close the margin and I think McLaren are slightly better then what the ladder suggests. I'm going with the Bays in a tight one but I think McLaren could cause an upset if they can adapt to the muddy conditions. Encounter Bay by 3 goals.
Victor Harbor vs Willunga - Obviously Willunga will be strong favourites and regardless of the wet conditions they will simply be too strong. Demons by 8 goals.
Myponga/Sellicks vs Saints - They don't call them the Mudlarks for nothing! Myponga by 4 goals.

Strath to beat Yank, Yank need Groom, Freeborn and co to play to be any sort of chance!
Creeks to beat Compass, just feel they will outbody the young Mt COmpass boys. If Orrock, Hicks and the other harder bodied players can match it with the creek Burdett, Maxfield and co should be able to provide the clean ball delivery to there potent forward line.
Encounter Bay over Mclarens, wont be as one sided as expected, little wet under foot will slow down the feelt footed bays and turn it into a test of wills. The bays still to get up with a little too much class aroudn the ground.
Willunga to beat Victor, a clash of the midfields here, Victors Midfield as strong as anyones and with the inclusion of Hunter to go with Hodge, Mckinlay, Jurek and Brown makes it all the more impressive. Our forwards are good in the wet and dry and Genovese kicking 6 last outing provides us with another avenue to goal.
Myponga to beat the Saints, i was impressed with the mudlarks a month ago, if they play the disciplined man on man style of football they did against us they will get over the saints.

Any further comments from me will be provided by P32 and the rest of his merry men. :)

Just got off the phone to BJ (Ernest09) and he said he is very concerned about Victor as they are one of the better teams going around and that on any given day any team can win, it's a two horse race. They always play well against the Demons and the inclusion of Hunter gives them just another midfielder to throw at him and his teammates. Being wet means the game will be extremely close and that it definitely won't be as easy as everyone else thinks and that come September Victor will be there challenging in finals. The fact that there will be 18 blokes from each team on the field at once means this is very much a 50/50 game for them...wilunga by 1 point.... Translation- Stay at home Victor, you will have more chance winning powerball saturday night than winning this game...Willunga by 135 points...would have been more but it IS raining! :finga:

Thank you Panther, thats what i was trying to say! Lucky my cute assistant translated for me!

D%$k heads powerball is thursday nights, $20 million tonight but dont worry about getting a ticket iv already got one. If i win the bays will win the flag this year.

I've seen Hunter first hand, brilliant little player will course Willunga's older midfielders plenty of problems this weekend.

Victor would now have a very impressive midfield, if they can keep some of these guys for the next few years they may challenge the top 3 sides quite soon.

Was offered a little bit and flexible training times. Loves his footy and playing with good people, didn't feel he was getting any of that at south.
Wont get it at Victor either!
Thats a bit rough TC, your boys hang out with alot of the victor players and your president went to the Victor Harbour Presidents Ball two weeks ago! Are you just dirty on them cos with another in it gives them an even greater chance of making the top 5 and placing you in 6th two years in a row.
Time will tell but lets be honest - your not exactly outside the glass house.

We won it in the third when we kicked 2 in to the hurricane strength breeze, then came home strongly. Dont know much about the bloke that kicked the winner but I can tell you that he's not fat he's just big boned and he got off the ground which was a suprise to many

Great work by the Saints to get up. Its never an easy trip to Pongy. What was the condition of the oval like LF? I know in recent times it doesnt get anywhere near as bad as it used to but with them knocking all the trees down the wind wouldve been hammering the oval!!!

Interesting result with the Creeks and Compass, the usual suspects were at it for Compass and an impressive result for them which gives them a massive go at the double chance having played Willunga, Creeks and Strath in this 2nd round of games!! Im tipping them for the double chance along with the Roosters.

Is Todd Dellatore moving away for work in the next week or 2? Big loss for the Creeks!

Down at Victor Harber yesterday it was a beautiful day, little wind but the sun was shining and the boys came to play. Going into the 3-4 goal breeze we managed to be 3 up agt 1/4 time. Had an indifferent second quarter and then came out after half time and played good, clean running football using our height to advantage. Hams with another 9 and took some brilliant contested marks and is surely going to crack the ton with 6 games to go and only 19 goals to get. Will there be more people at Demon Park this Sunday afternoon than at AAMI watching the Power? If the Crows werent there opponent methinks Willunga would have a couple hundred more!

Yeah he did GWW. Got a bit of it early and was running hard but then strained a hamstring/glute i believe so was missing for the 2nd half. Will be a handy inclusion for the Roos.

Ground was soft, probably a dead 5, but it was excellent when you make comparisons to days gone by. Conditions were very tough still. About 8 degrees and a very strong wind to the bottom end. Would have been about 6 goal breeze. The top 3 sides in the comp could have easily kicked 10+ in a quarter with the aid of it.

9 goals for Hams. Mark him down for another couple of Mail Medal votes. Wish I'd backed him at fixed odds earlier in the year. He will now surely break the trend of the midfielders winning the medal.

Hes certainly not doing anything to harm his chances and he played a ripper game yesterday. Depending on how the umpires saw it he easily could have jagged the 3 votes!

He may well have had Portlock not torn it up. The little fella dominated. He took marks, kicked goals, won the hard ball and provided plenty of run and drive through the middle of the ground. Add to this the fact that he was back in the famous number 24 jumper for the first time since association weeked (after it failed to reach its $75,000 reserve price on ebay) there is no doubt that he would've taken the three votes.

Hold all tickets! After doing a little bit of research I cant see any full forward thats won the medal. At least not for a very very long time. The only one I can think of is Mark "spud" Symonds who won one for Goolwa in 87 and Myponga in 85. He was definately a full forward, but he may have played further up the ground in his younger days when he won his medals?????. If Hams does it, it will be history in the making.

Heard the Creeks have got an ever expanding injury list atm which is really testing their depth with about 1/2 a dozen colts needed to play seniors at compass saturday to make the numbers up.

Has the senior colts competition ever been so even? A great comp atm with the top 7 teams very even which is a great thing for the players development as they learn little when they play against mismatched opponents regularly.
Saw the M.Comp V Creek senior colts game which was a Fantastic contest in trying conditions and Both sides are to be congratulated on their sportsmanship shown after the game. Despite their being plenty of niggle, lip, and push and shove during the game, Not only did the players immediatley shake hands (as per usual) after the game but also noticed Quite a number of players from BOTH teams shake hands with the umpires as well.
Really good stuff fellas, keep it up. =D> =D> =D>
